Sportsbet’s million dollar tipping is now open and is free to join.

Th Rugby League season tipping commences on Friday, the 13th of March and the Aussie Rules season tipping commences Thursday, the 26th of March. You can join either or both of these competitions, but given the random prizes they give out each week, I see no reason to sign up for both. I don’t know the first thing about Aussi Rules but that won’t stop me!

I typically join these competitions to simply compete against my friends for pride, but this competition offers over a million dollars in prizes. And I’m not just talking about a million dollars “worth” of prizes, but a million dollars in cash. The prizes schedule is as follows.

Placing Aussi Rules    Rugby League
1st $250,000 $250,000
2nd $100,000 $100,000
3rd $50,000 $50,000
4th $25,000 $25,000
5th $10,000 $10,000
6th $5,000 $5,000
7th $4,000 $4,000
8th $3,000 $3,000
9th $2,000 $2,000
10th $1,000 $1,000
11th to 50th $250 $250
51st to 150th $100 $100
151st to 250th $75 $75
251st to 500th    $50 $50

Sportsbet is also giving away over $1,000 in monthly cash prizes for the best performers over that particular month.

Placing    Aussi Rules    Rugby League
1st $300 $300
2nd $200 $200
3rd $100 $100
4th $50 $50
5th $25 $25

Sportsbet will also give away $50 weekly cash prizes based on your ranking compared to some random pre-arranged numbers. For example in the first week those ranked 1st, 221st, 8,401st, 12,781st and 41,891st will win a prize.

There is no cost to members to join Sportsbet and play Million Dollar Tipping. You are not obliged to place wagers with Sportsbet.

Hmmmm. Seems like there’s no excuse to not have a go!

i cant believe the prize is going to be this big, is it bookmaker sponsored then?

Yes, it is bookmaker sponsored. While it is free to join, I take it they hope a lot of people will consider depositing funds with them.

The advantage of it being bookmaker sponsored, as opposed to advertising sponsored, is (hopefully) the tipping interface won’t be completely cluttered with advertising messages.

Sportsbet Australia just does not want to open for me.
