Australia has thrown a spanner in the works for some punters by declaring early at 5-454. I thought given their second innings collapse against the West Indies they would be more conservative.

This action has derailed many bets by punters on an Australian batsman getting a first innings century. Michael Clarke was not out for 28 at the time. The early declaration also would have caught out punters betting on Australia’s first innings total. 500+ was looking almost a certainty at the time.

The figures below show each team’s ranking amongst fellow World Cup competitors. For example, South Africa is the lowest ranked team in the tournament so it has a ranking of 32.
 

 
No matter which way you look at it, Group F is the group of life and Group G is the group of death. Note I haven’t provided decimal place figures because only rough inferences can be made using this data.
