NRL Round 4 Preview – Sunday Fixtures

Well we nailed the best bet last night on the Raiders V Titans match, and what a match it was!! Let’s hope we see more incredible action today on a super Sunday that has 3 games lined up for us. Settle in and enjoy!

SUNDAY

Cronulla Sharks v New Zealand Warriors
Owen Delany Park, Taupo, 2:00pm (local)

The Sharks have taken their home game to New Zealand for their encounter with the Warriors, and despite coming off the back of two strong wins and New Zealand yet to register one, Cronulla are outsiders for this clash. The Warriors have dropped Brett Seymour in favour of Feleti Mateo and James Maloney moves to halfback. I like this move. Mateo will be in charge inside the Warriors half and Maloney will take over in the opposition half.

Mike’s Best Bets: $52 on the Sharks +2.5 @ $1.93

Newcastle Knights v St George Illawarra Dragons
Ausgrid Stadium, 2:00pm (local)

It’s been well publicised that Newcastle have 6 players out due to injury. On the positive, Kurt Gidley is back and will partner an on fire Jarrod Mullen. But when you’re up against a Wayne Bennett coached Dragons side with Beau Scott returning, you have your work cut out for you. The home ground factor should help the Knights but it won’t convert to a win for them.

Mike’s Best Bets: None

Sydney Roosters v Wests Tigers
Sydney Football Stadium, 3:00pm (local)

The Wests Tigers also have 6 players on their injured list. These two sides meet for their first encounter since that heart stopping semi final played on the same ground in September last year. Jacob Miller makes his debut for the Tigers at halfback and I’d say his job will be to keep it simple. Todd Carney should be better for the run last week and I’d happily tip him for man of the match.

The Roosters won all three games against the Tigers last year.

Mike’s Best Bets: None
