NRL Round 6 Preview and Tips – Sunday Fixtures

SUNDAY

Newcastle Knights v Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks
Ausgrid Stadium, 2.00pm

It’s another battle for redemption. The Sharks threw away a 13 point lead last week to lose after the siren and the Knights never played to the wet conditions last week when they lost to the Broncos. The city of Newcastle is buzzing after Wayne Bennett announced he will coach the Knights from 2012 to 2015. I like the Sharks with Paul Aiton starting at hooker, but I think the Newcastle home crowd will play a big part in getting their boys home this afternoon.

Mike’s Best Bets: None

Penrith Panthers v Melbourne Storm
Centrebet Stadium, 3.00pm

I’m surprised the Storm aren’t shorter with bookmakers here ($1.50-$1.58). I haven’t seen too much that tells me that the Panthers can beat the Storm even if it is played in Penrith. Penrith’s two wins this season have been against the Raiders (16th out of 16) and the Eels (15th out of 16).

With Readbet offering $2 line betting it’s just impossible to pass up the -5.5 that the Storm are getting especially considering the form they are in.

Mike’s Best Bet: $66 on the Storm -5.5 @ $2.00 (Readbet)
