NRL Round 8 Preview and Tips – Friday Fixtures

THE LONG HARD LOOK WITH MIKE WILSON

NRL ROUND 8 PREVIEW

FRIDAY

Brisbane Broncos v Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
Suncorp Stadium, 7:35pm

The Broncos confirmed that they are the real deal with their convincing win over the Tigers, but they are facing their toughest test yet against the Bulldogs. Having been well noted for their defence in 2011 it will be interesting to see how well the Brisbane side can contain the likes of Ben Barba and Jamal Idris. Josh Morris returns for the Dogs and will be taking on Justin Hodges in the centres which could be interesting.

Mike’s Best Bets: None

South Sydney Rabbitohs v Cronulla Sharks
ANZ Stadium, 7:35pm

Souths face possibly their best opportunity so far to grab 2 points as they go head to head with a Sharks side missing their 1 and 6. Fullback Nathan Gardner has been electric with every touch of the ball and will be sorely missed. Albert Kelly’s 2011 has been golden compared to his shocker in 2010 and will also leave his team mates wanting. Kelly is being replaced by the mercurial Tim Smith who has been struggling for over a year to find form. Smith slots into halfback and Wade Graham goes to five eighth. This could turn into a pretty loose, high scoring affair.

Mike’s Best Bets: $82 on the ‘OVER’ option in the under/over betting.
