NRL Round 10 Preview and Tips – Friday Fixtures

THE LONG HARD LOOK WITH MIKE WILSON

NRL ROUND 10 PREVIEW

FRIDAY

Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs v St. George Illawarra Dragons
ANZ Stadium, 7:35pm

It seems like only yesterday we were watching Darius Boyd scoring that runaway try after making a freakish, try saving intercept the last time these two teams met in Round 5. It’s going to be a fantastic battle with the competition’s top try scorer Ben Barba in one corner and the leading contender for a NSW Blues five eights jersey in Jamie Soward in the other. The Bulldogs are coming off a bye and it’s yet to be seen whether this will be a help or a hindrance. Bryson Goodwin is now on the Bulldogs’ injury list but have no fear, Steve Turner is more than capable of taking over the goal kicking duties.

Penrith Panthers v Brisbane Broncos
Centrebet Stadium, 7:35pm

Penrith are coming off a bye and fans are hoping that the side may have found something of use in the weekend off. Always disruptive is the news that your current coach won’t be re-signed for next year and this is what the Panthers have had to deal with. On the contrary for Brisbane, they have announced some new signings for 2012 and beyond including a 3-year deal for their representative superstar Justin Hodges. Darren Lockyer returns to the side after being rested following his Australian representative duties which makes it very hard to tip against the Broncos here.
