Ladbrokes Race Comments:

Race 7:
MISS GUNPOWDER looks to have been set for a first-up win with two good jump outs. On her way to better races, she’ll be tough to hold out. SHAKESPEAREAN LASS can bounce back hard at odds. Her Oakleigh Plate run is good enough for this. ROCK FORTHE LADIES is a betting watch for the new stable. HEZA RIPPER, SEBRING SUN and ROCK ‘N’ GOLD all have claims with luck from bad gates.

Race 8:
AROD can be a big improver here getting back onto a dry track. If he can get into the three-wide line he’ll be strong late. HOOKED was ok back in trip last start in top grade. Straight into the box seat, he’s a big danger. HELLOVA STREET can go on with it with the perfect run and ARTICUS is a big betting watch at his first run for the Weir stable.

Race 9:
SECOND BULLET was a dominant winner here at his first-up run. If he finds that sort of form off the freshen up he’ll be hard to hold out. TOM MELBOURNE will enjoy the drop in grade off the big trial win. He looks a danger with any luck early. GREY LION is suited over this trip first-up. He’ll make sure they run it strong. WAR LEGEND gets a perfect run, he goes in everything and there’s a stack more chances in a wide-open race.

Race 10:
FRENCH EMOTION looks to find a perfect race at her best trip. If she has a touch of luck slotting in from the middle gate she’ll take some beating. GREAT ESTEEM nearly won the Toorak here at the trip in the Spring. He’ll cross and could take some catching. THE CHAIRMAN still has more upside. He’ll be strong from the good gate. Betting watch ORMITO first start for the Weir stable and there’s a stack more chances in an open race.

1. FABRIZIO from 14, 3, 10

Ladbrokes Race Comments:

Race 6:
INVADER impressive winner of the Sires and the way he finished is race off suggests the extra 200m won’t be an issue. The one to beat again. WHISPERED SECRET impressive maiden winner at Newcastle before overcoming a wide run in transit to win the Fernhill last week. Still plenty of upside and a winning chance again. ESHTIRAAK has won four from six including the Mornington Sires last start. The new kid on the block here and has to be respected. ABERRO runner-up both runs to date including the Mornington Sires last start. Three weeks between runs but kept up to the mark with a Canberra trial win. Shouldn’t be under-estimated.

Race 7:
ENGLISH looked all over the winner until Chautauqua put in his amazing finishing burst in the TJ Smith. Won this race last year and looks ready for a repeat. TIVACI has performed solidly in the Newmarket and TJ Smith last two starts. Right in play stepping up to the 1400m. VOODOO LAD runner-up in the Newmarket resuming and kept chasing in the TJ Smith. Right in this third-up stepping up to 1400m. LE ROMAIN struggled in the Doncaster last start but previous three runs in the preparation good enough for this and set to bounce back.

Race 8:
PROMPT RESPONSE finished her race off nicely when runner-up in the PJ Bell resuming. Suited stepping up to 1400m and right in the mix fitter second-up. ZENALICIOUS struggled at the mile in the Carbine Club last start. Both career wins this trip and right in play back in distance. SIREN’S FURY has won two races this preparation and hit the line strongly when a close third in the South Pacific this track and distance last start. Goes in everything with a soft run from the inside gate. INVINCIBELLA well beaten in the PJ Bell resuming but is a winner at the track and distance and a likely improver fitter second-up.

Race 9:
MARENOSTRO solid return in the Doncaster Prelude when placed. Has a solid second-up record and the likely soft conditions plays right into his hands. Definite winning chance. KELLYVILLE FLYER placed in the Newcastle Newmarket resuming. Has generally improved second-up in past preparations and if that’s the case here will take plenty of beating. FABRIZIO resumes and should be fit enough after three trials including a Randwick win. Canterbury winner resuming last time in and looks set for a first-up win here. SORT AFTER back to the trials after finishing down the track in the Star Kingdom resuming. Twice a winner second-up and no surprise to see a sharp improvement.
