Ladbrokes Race Comments:

Race 5:
Watch market on the interstaters and New Zealander. MORTON’S FORK is resuming, he won the Sandown Guineas and raced well in strong Group company last preparation, his most recent trial was solid and he can show up fresh. OINK resumed well and rarely runs a bad race, he is well weighted against the other Queenslanders here and should be in the finish. SYLPHEED ran on from a long way back in the Gold Coast Guineas, she is backing up quickly and could be closing late for Jeff Lloyd. BILLY THE KID will be improved by his first-up outing but meets OINK 2.5kg worse for a defeat last start, he can be in the finish.

Race 6:
Watch the market on the Kiwi and interstate stayers who should have an edge on most of the locals. CHOCANTE won a Group 3 over 2100m at Pukekohe last preparation, he has been improved by recent racing in good company and should be suited here with Jim Byrne to ride. THE CHAIRMAN was racing soundly in Country Cups last preparation, he has been improved by recent outings and should be in the finish. EMERALD CITY has been improved by recent racing and just missed last start, he has a good record at this track and should be in the finish. STAMPEDE set up a big lead and hung on to win the Wagga Cup last start, this is harder but he could give a sight again.

Race 7:
MUSIC MAGNATE won this race last year when it was 1350m and warmed up with an easy win at Eagle Farm, with Jeff Lloyd up he should be hard to beat again. FELL SWOOP failed as favourite in this race last year when run down in the straight, he fought on well in the TJ Smith last start and will find this easier, he trialled well recently and gets another chance over 1200m. TAKEDOWN is much better suited here than on a shifting Eagle Farm surface, he has a good record at 1200m and can be in the finish if track is firm. RUSSIAN REVOLUTION gets a gear change after his TJ Smith failure, his recent trial was strong and he should be prominent throughout.

Race 8:
MONGOLIAN WOLF won a Group 3 over this trip in NSW at his first start for the Darren Weir stable, he placed in the Avondale Guineas behind Gingernuts and looks an improving type, he should be hard to hold off with Brenton Avdulla to ride. ORDER AGAIN bolted in when resuming, he is stepping up in distance but is highly promising and should be in the finish. VELADERO has been racing well on heavy tracks in Group 3 company in NSW, his recent trial was good and he should be handy throughout. SHOCKING LUCK placed in Group 2 Waikato Guineas and will be better suited here than when first-up at Ipswich over 1500m, she should be handy throughout.

Ladbrokes Race Comments:

Race 5:
CALANDA has won three from six including a Canterbury victory two runs back. Forget his last start when he never saw daylight. Can bounce back. SPRIGHT placed in the Light Fingers resuming four runs back and hasn’t been far from the winner at Randwick and Hawkesbury last two. Expected to be right in the finish again. BARBASS just a run short finishing on the placegetters heels at Randwick first-up. Three weeks between runs but has won a trial in the interim and right in this from a good gate. CROWN HIM improved run when placed at Wyong second-up. Peaks third-up and worth noting he won third-up last preparation at Canterbury.

Race 6:
SIR BACCHUS never really clear at Randwick resuming. Drops 6kg on his latest outing and twice a winner second-up. Right in the mix. GRUNDERZEIT never saw daylight at Hawkesbury resuming. Canterbury winner second-up last preparation and just needs even luck in running here to be right in the finish. CLEARLY INNOCENT never saw the fence at Hawkesbury resuming. Unbeaten in five runs at Scone and right in this from a good gate. OLD NORTH finished on the placegetters heels in the Hawkesbury Rush resuming. Finished fourth in the Group II Shannon at Rosehill second-up last preparation and rates as one of the key chances here.

Race 7:
KINSHACHI won three on the trot last preparation and a nice return when placed in the Hawkesbury Crown after working in the run. Right in this fitter second-up. ARTISTRY no luck at all in the Hawkesbury Crown last start when she never saw daylight. Previous form good enough and set to make amends from an ideal gate. PROMPT RESPONSE run down late in the Hawkesbury Guineas after working in the run. Should be right at her peak and drawn to get all the favours in the run. HEAVENLY ANNA chasing back to back victories after a strong win at Randwick last start. Drops significantly in weight and a winning chance again.

Race 8:
NIETA putting together and impressive record and chasing back to back wins after a strong victory at Randwick resuming. Looks well weighted on the minimum and right in the mix. LE CORDON BLEU resumes on the back of a runner-up finish in a Rosehill trial. Has a very good first-up record and goes in everything fresh. DEPLOY resumes on the back of a Randwick trial placing. Unbeaten in four runs last time in. Expected to be right in the finish here. FELINES chasing back to back wins after getting the money in the Hawkesbury Rush last start. Drawn to advantage and nothing to suggest she won’t be in the finish again.
