Race 8: JUNGLE EDGE

Ladbrokes Race Comments:

Race 5:
UNTAMED DIAMOND has won both outings since resuming in strong Benchmark company, she should be prominent with Kerrin McEvoy to ride. SOLD FOR SONG got too far back at the Gold Coast, she won her only start at this track and distance and can charge home late. ELEGANT COMPOSURE resumed with a sound effort at the Gold Coast, she should be improved and can be handy throughout. DEE NINE ELLE is resuming, she has plenty of speed and can show up fresh, she could be hard to run down from the good gate.

Race 6:
KENEDNA is a top Class filly who just missed in the South Australian Oaks, she is having her first Queensland start but should be hard to hold off. THE PINNACLE ran on strongly at Gold Coast and may be better suited here, she should be in the finish. DAWN WALL won the Gold Coast Bracelet easily, she is stepping up in distance but should be prominent throughout. CANDIKA is racing well but gets found out by the better Southern fillies, she likes this track, 2000m may suit and she will run an honest race.

Race 7:
The distance suits IT’S SOMEWHAT who is in top Group 1 form and should be hard to beat at WFA conditions. SENSE OF OCCASION was held up and ran on late in the Hollindale, he is better suited here and should be in the finish. BENZINI is a good NZ stayer who won Group 2 Brisbane Cup last year and just missed in a Group 1 at Ellerslie two starts back, his recent trial was solid and he will be running on. ARTICUS is in strong form and won 4 times over this distance in Europe, he steps up in class from his recent Flemington outing but should be in the finish.

Race 8:
SPLURGE has been in top form in NZ winning 5 of his last 6 outings including a Group 3, he runs on strongly and may be hard to hold off. SNIPPETS LAND is resuming, he rarely runs poorly and won this race last year, his trials have been solid and he can show up from the good gate. ULMANN resumed well to win the Wangoom over 1200m at Warrnambool, he is well drawn, the extra distance suits and he should be in the finish. JUNGLE EDGE gets some gear changes after a moderate effort last start, his previous form was strong and he should be prominent.

Race 8: SAMARA DANCER

Ladbrokes Race Comments:

Race 5:
SORT AFTER looks the leader, if she doesn’t cop too much pressure expect her to still be slogging away at the finish. TICK TICK BLOOM goes well this patter and was strong through the line at Warrnambool. HAVE ANOTHER GLASS has a super overall record to start her career, just may have to sit off the rail here and looks a good lay. For fourth, MODEL DRAGON. Her manners weren’t great last time.

Race 6:
HOOKED has the speed to be outside the leader or take a sit here, if he takes a sit he should be able to swamp them late. BURNING FRONT is in super form, will be out in front and if the track is playing favourably at all towards the leaders, he will be very hard to run down. RHYTHM TO SPARE and ROYAL RUMBLE look the other two chances but are likely to be giving the other two a start.

Race 7:
BLACK HEART BART can go back-to-back here. He maps beautifully, goes well fresh and has a stack of class. MALAGUERRA should be one of the leaders, if he can control the speed he will accelerate off the turn. HEY DOC should get out to a huge price, worth an each-way ticket back on a good track. SECRET AGENDA will push forward, looks one of the leaders. Will need it soft in front.

Race 8:
RAVI is likely to be giving them a start but was strong through the line last time in the harder race for the girls. TELOPEA has a great record second-up and will appreciate getting back on top of the ground. FUHRYK jumped out of the ground late last start, was a winner at her only other second-up run. NOW OR LATER loos the big improver out of the lead-up here, has a good record second-up and draws well.
