Betfair – Feature Race Reports:

Race 7:
BACK (WIN) Scales Of Justice

Ladbrokes Race Comments:

Race 5:
SCALPEL was heavily supported before winning an identical race here last time out. Sure to have taken benefit from that run and can repeat the dose. YEAH DARDY fought hard to get the job done first-up at the midweeks. Has the scope to keep improving and Pike takes the ride. BOUNCE DOWN shows promise and will be forward for her return from a spell after two recent trials. Must respect. I AM INCREDIBLE wasn’t far off the top pick last time so if we like that one he must also be a chance. Don’t dismiss.

Race 6:
Competitive race. DARK ROYALTY backed up some good country form with a strong win in an identical race last time out. Still well weighted and can repeat the dose. FLYING ROAR loves this course and is sure to strip fitter for the first-up run. Should give a sight. WAR GOD is knocking on the door after runner-up finishes in this class at his past two starts. No surprise to see him get the job done. GREY ENIGMA is consistent and maps for all the favours in the run. Each way if you like him.

Race 7:
Railway Stakes conqueror SCALES OF JUSTICE was trapped wide when resuming but kept fighting to go down narrowly. With natural improvement and better luck in running he can return to winning ways. DISPOSITION worked home strongly last start to put the writing on the wall. Will relish this distance and must be respected. MIKI TWO TOES is up in class on a recent win but it’s hard to knock his form. Go well again. POUNAMU is better than recent results suggest and must be kept safe.

Race 8:
JETOOMY made good ground against the pattern here last Saturday and gets his chance to break through with the rise to this more suitable distance. ROYAL ATTRACTION shows promise and was impressive in a first-up victory. Watch for her stoking up hard late with Pike on board. TRAVELLIN’ has been up for a while but continues to perform well. Maps ideally and must be respected. HUMANITY is talented when right and went much better last time out. Can measure up against the older horses.

Ladbrokes Race Comments:

Race 6:
HOT MONEY has been in top form and gets Corey Brown, he drops 5kg and should be in the finish. I FEEL GOOD bolted in at the Sunshine Coast, he is backing up quickly and this is harder but drops 5kg and should be hard to hold off. WAR BABY is a tough mare who goes around week in week out, she rarely runs a bad race, handles all conditions and can be in the finish. OUTSTRIP rarely wins but often places and all his 3 wins have been on soft or heavy ground, he will be running on.

Race 7:
JUMBO PRINCE will find this easier than last start, he has a good record at this track and ran 2nd in this race last year, he will be running on for Jeff Lloyd. SORT AFTER is awkwardly drawn but has been racing well in strong company in South Australia, with Corey Brown to ride can be prominent throughout. TESSASTOCK won well at the Sunshine Coast in weaker company and is suited by this distance, she is a promising NZ staying mare who has won a heavy track, she can make her presence felt. MAGNATUNE is honest and loves a heavy track, this class may test but the track and distance suit.

Race 8:
THE VIRGINIAN has resumed well and has won on heavy ground, he is gaining fitness and should be hard to hold off. ACATOUR is resuming and his trials have been solid, he enjoys heavy ground, races well fresh and can show up with Jeff Lloyd to ride. SHIRAZ was not far away when resuming and can race well second-up, he hasn’t won for nearly two years but has a great record on heavy ground and could show up. CASUAL CHOICE improved last start, this class may test but he could show up from the good gate.

Race 9:
KINSCHACHI was not far away last start and will be suited by heavy ground, the distance may test but she can be in the finish for Damian Browne. DEE NINE ELLE disappointed last start but heavy ground suits, she is better suited here and can be prominent from the good gate. HERMOSA BEACH also disappointed last start but is better suited by this distance and can handle heavy ground, she should be running on late. LUCKY SHOW GIRL is racing well since resuming, this is harder but she can show up from the good gate.

4. LEODORO from 5, 11, 3

Ladbrokes Race Comments:

Race 6:
KATSURO does get the big rise in weight but he’s in flying form so still has strong claims in a wide-open betting race. TERINDAH gets a much softer run here with the light weight. He’ll be in the finish. HIGHLAND BEAT is due a bit of luck. From the good gate, he will be steaming home. Betting watch GO PUBLIC resuming and there’s many more chances.

Race 7:
ROSE OF VIRGINIA should only take another step forward off her big 2nd-up run. With any luck slotting in she’ll be hard to hold out. HURSLEY continues to race in peak form. Drawn for a perfect run, he’ll be hard to beat. COLDSTONE gets a perfect run just off pace. He gets his chance to run out this trip. EXTRA ZERO and SHOW A STAR next best.

Race 8:
HEART STARTER has been hitting the line hard each start and the form out of his last run reads strong. Crying out for the mile, he’ll be hard to hold out. PETROLOGY has been super consistent this time in. He will give away a start but watch for him charging home. RHYTHM TO SPARE finds another suitable race from a good gate. DATA POINT charges home and ONPICALO will bounce back. There’s many more chances in a deep betting race.

Race 9:
SEPTAMORE always keeps improving the further he gets into a prep and he’s found the right race here. Straight into the box seat, he gets his chance. LEODORO is in career best form. In ok with the claim, he’ll steam home. CATCH THAT CAT is going well this prep. She could be the value runner. STAR STEALER and SIR MASK can bounce back and there’s many more chances.

Morphettville

William Hill – The Wolf:

Race 7: No.7 Ilgattino – BEST BET – 3 stars

Ladbrokes Race Comments:

Race 5:
VIVALDI’S QUEST has the good claim, enough speed to get across early and from either in front or outside the leader, will be hard to run down in this grade. NEAPOLITAN is resuming here, has good speed and has trialed well enough. Watch for any support in the betting. MAGNETAR is resuming, has a perfect record fresh, just needs to step away with them and not give them a start early. POSH JOURNEY is better than her recent form suggests.

Race 6:
AFFRAY was forced to cover a lot of ground last time, maps to be just sitting off the leaders here and should have plenty to offer late. MR LIBERTY ran on well last time in a race where the tempo didn’t suit. Look for him late here. ECLAIR ATTACK may improve with the gear change and should be up on the speed. RAHEEBA should be a juicy price and may get an uncontested lead early.

Race 7:
SNAKE CHARMER has the awkward draw, has speed but there will be some decisions to be made early. BATTLE BREWING was good enough last time after sitting wide and having to work. Should be nearing peak fitness now. CLONMEL has been impressive winning both starts this time in against easier opposition. Has shown he can do it at both ends. FINE APPROACH has a great record fresh.

Race 8:
Looks an open race on paper. GOLD DENARI is having her second run back from a brief Queensland campaign, she ran on well last start against the tempo of the race. TEMPTING FAITH is very quick and will be trying to lead all the way. HASTA LA GORBY has a consistent record and for fourth, OUR PROSPECT coming off a dominant win but will find this tougher.

Mad Bookie – Dan Melicki:

BEST EACH-WAY: Race 5 #2 MOSS’N’DALE / Race 9 #7 CARZOFF

7. CARZOFF from 5, 14, 12

Race 9 4:25pm 1350m (BM78)
6. PICK ME UP from 10, 2, 7

Ladbrokes Race Comments:

Race 6:
Going with the from the Eremein race here a fortnight ago. TUCANCHOO has hit the line well in both runs back from a spell. Out to this run third up is perfect and berry jumps aboard. SUPPLY AND DEMAND beat home TUCANCHOO here last start. He has to contend with the extra 200m but gives the indication that he will handle it. ALEGRIA was placed in the same race. She will be suited stepping up to the 2000m and back onto a wet track. DESTINY’S KISS did enough when resuming. Improver here up in distance and onto a wet track.

Race 7:
BADAJOZ was runner up in open company when resuming. That form has held strong and he loves it wet. The one to beat. PRINCEFAMOUS looks the danger. He resumes here after winning a recent trial. He excels fresh and gets in well after the claim. UPSCALE ran on strongly at Randwick when resuming. She is unbeaten from two starts this track/dist and handles these conditions. SIR PLUSH looks ready to go here fresh after two recent trials. He is unbeaten from three attempts at the trip.

Race 8:
This looks a nice race for CARZOFF. He hit the line strongly when making his Australian debut first up. Can only be further improved from that run and out to the 1800m suits. COLLATERAL is a progressive type that has impressed winning his past two starts. Looks the danger with any luck from the draw. MORE THAN FABULOUS has done enough in both runs back from a spell. Out to the 1800m is ideal and loves it wet. KING’S OFFICER peaks for this third run back and excels on these wet track.

Race 9:
Tricky race with the top three picks drawn very wide. WILD ‘N’ FAMOUS has been runner up in his past two starts. He looks ready for this trip now and gets in well after the claim. INVINCIBLE KNIGHT was unlucky when finishing just behind WILD ‘N’ FAMOUS when resuming. Strips fitter and Bowman jumps aboard. PICK ME UP hit the line like a coming winner here first up. He can only be further improved on that effort. Keep the Victorian visitor PAKAYA PRINCE safe. He relishes these wet tracks.
