Race 9: 5 Malaise, 10 Chippenham, 13 Trogir, 14 Call Me Handsome

Neds – Race Comments:

Race 6:
There is a clear cut top pick. SNITTY KITTY resumes after a spell of 15 weeks and looking to make it four in a row after another win at Caulfield last start, looks a sure thing. NASDEX has been running well this campaign winning twice and placing in all other outings, for the wider exotics. CRYSTAL DREAMER looking for a hatrick after winning two in a row at Caulfield and Sandown, consider in exotics. PALAZZO PUBBLICO has two placings from three runs this prep and in the money last start running third at Randwick, capable of getting into the money with a bit of luck.

Race 7:
Hard to see anything upsetting the top two choices. WILLI WILLI gave nothing else a chance to win last start at Flemington and won two of three as a favourite, commands respect. BEDFORD has been running well this campaign winning twice and placing in all other outings, in the mix. O’LONERA 2 wins from five attempts this campaign and has outstanding form at this track, sneaky chance. PORTION CONTROL ran fourth last start at Flemington and all four wins have come in the dry, place only.

Race 8:
Will be a close run race between the top picks. PREZADO finished a length back from the leader last start at Flemington when resuming and likely to race just off the speed, should go well. MURAAQEB back from let-up and generally strong first-up, has solid claims. CLIFF’S EDGE let-up for 12 weeks and has very strong form at Caulfield, sneaky chance. BRAVO TANGO has won or placed in all races to date and amongst the placegetters last start running third at Flemington when fresh, don’t treat lightly.

Race 9:
One of the toughest races of the meeting. MALAISE looking for a hatrick after winning two in a row at Flemington and Randwick, genuine contender. CALL ME HANDSOME yet to miss the placegetters and last start winner at Sale, must be considered. CHIPPENHAM will likely lead/box seat and a big drop in weight, cannot be ruled out. TROGIR in strong form with two wins from five attempts this campaign and just missed when heavily backed last start at Caulfield, still in this.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 6:
SNITTY KITTY resumes. She has won her last two fresh runs and runs fast times. CRYSTAL DREAMER is flying. He has dropped 1100m to 1000m in the past and won. He creeps up to 60kg here but his last two wins have been, well, fast!! THERMAL CURRENT has 5kg on Crystal Dreamer for their December clash so that is significant. PALAZZO PUBBLICO is suited in the small field and has form here. She ran home well behind a promising one last time.
Selections 3 Snitty Kitty, 1 Crystal Dreamer, 2 Thermal Current, 4 Palazzo Publico

Race 7:
SPEED: 2, 1 can lead with 10 more positive today, 8 takes sit. WILLI WILLI has been to 1600m and beyond twice, for two wins. In the latest he led (at over six lengths below average for first 600m) and held them off. Doubt 2000m stops him but he does come up to 58kg. PORTION CONTROL and MUTARAKEM were behind him and both had excuses given said slow-o-ow tempo. They both have relative weights advantage. That ties MR CHURCHILL in. BEDFORD looked awesome out to 2000m here and ran good overall time. He drops to 54kg! O’LONERA is a key hope.
Selections 9 Bedford, 2 Willi Willi, 1 O’lonera, 3 Portion Control

Race 8:
SPEED: Maybe 3 leads 5, 8, 9 but 1, 2, 4, 12 can all be handy. PREZADO gave potential star Nature Strip a scare at Flemington fresh. They ran terrific overall time and 1200m suits him better. BRAVO TANGO was difficult to miss flashing home for third that same race. His closing speed is group-class! CLIFF’S EDGE resumes, having measured up to Group 1/weight-for-age class before the spell. If ready for 1200m fresh he can certainly win. POSEIDON’S POOL is a live hope on that Vain Stakes run here. I DID IT AGAIN and MURAAQEB are hopes fresh up.
Selections 10 Bravo Tango, 1 Cliff’s Edge, 11 Poseiden’s Pool

Race 9:
SPEED: 4 leads 5, 10 with any of 2, 6, 7, 8, 14 handy. MANOLO BLAHNIQ was good at Flemington from a bad (inside) draw and to my eye is desperate for 1400m now. MALAISE sat wide and was too good at Flemington, beating many key rivals here. All his 1400m form is terrific. CALL ME HANDSOME ran useful time at Sale and he acts like 1400m will suit him. He goes in everything! LEODORO to 1400m can win with luck from the draw. Chances to KING’S COMMAND, CHIPPENHAM, THE AVENGER and TROGIR. Add SHERIFF JOHN STONE but he is a query at 1400m for mine.
Selections 15 Manolo Blahniq, 5 Malaise, 14 Call Me Handsome

Doomben

William Hill – The Wolf:

Race 1: 1. Desert Digby
Race 2: 5. Expertea
Race 3: 15. Maybe Even You
Race 4: 3. Johnny Whitesox – BEST BET
Race 5: 7. Boomwaa
Race 6: 6. Tversky
Race 7: 6. Deep Image
Race 8: 2. Torgersen
Race 9: 1. I’m A Rippa

Morphettville

William Hill – The Wolf:

Race 1: 1. Belfast – BEST BET
Race 2: 2. Lite’n In My Veins
Race 3: 2. More Than Exceed
Race 4: 3. Eclair Sunshine
Race 5: 4. Benz
Race 6: 8. Zalmona
Race 7: 11. Tan Tat Trusting
Race 8: 6. Outinthestreet

Rosehill

William Hill – The Wolf:

Race 1: 5. Sheikha
Race 2: 1. Performer
Race 3: 2. Fiesta
Race 4: 7. Flow
Race 5: 12. Kopi Luwak – BEST BET – 4 stars
Race 6: 9. Bye See
Race 7: 8. Addictive Nature
Race 8: 7. High Opinion
Race 9: 1. Fortensky

Quaddie: 1, 5, 9 / 2, 5, 8 / 3, 4, 7, 12 / 1, 2, 8, 12, 13

Betfair – Lay Nominations:

Surveyed on course bookmakers recommend you lay (bet against) the following runners:

Race 4 #7 Flow

Unibet – Shaun Beirne:

Race 7:
1. Trapeze Artist
2. Global Glamour
3. Ace High
Suggested Bet(s)
Back Trapeze Artist to win

Race 9:
Back Don’t Give A Damn to win

Unibet – From the Trader’s Desk:

Race 2, No.1, PERFORMER – best bet
Race 7, No.5, TRAPEZE ARTIST
Race 8, No.3 VAUCLUSE BAY – lay bet
Race 9, No.13, TIP TOP – value bet

Neds – Suggested Runners:

Race 6: 1 Samadoubt, 5 Tahsin, 7 Invincible George, 9 Bye See
Race 7: 2 Global Glamour, 4 Ace High, 5 Trapeze Artist, 8 Addictive Nature
Race 8: 1 Gamblestown, 3 Vaucluse Bay, 4 Hunter Jack, 7 High Opinion
Race 9: 7 Wild Heart, 8 Don’t Give a Damn, 12 Kaonic, 14 Magicaz

Neds – Race Comments:

Race 6:
BYE SEE has won at Randwick and placed in all other attempts this campaign, well placed. SAMADOUBT just missed when heavily backed last start at Rosehill. Has won at Canterbury and placed three times this prep, dangerous. INVINCIBLE GEORGE all four wins have come in the dry and drops 2.5kg from last run, cannot be ruled out. TAHSIN looking for a hatrick after winning two in a row at Warwick Farm and Mudgee, could threaten.

Race 7:
GLOBAL GLAMOUR has shown early speed in races to date and drops 4kg from last run, commands respect. TRAPEZE ARTIST back from 13 week spell and won last at this track, could upset. ADDICTIVE NATURE first-up after 21 week break and won both trials, don’t treat lightly. ACE HIGH first-up after 13 week spell and winner of three in a row after last start win at Flemington, dangerous.

Race 8:
Hard to split the top two picks. VAUCLUSE BAY a track specialist winning twice at Rosehill and has two placings from five runs this prep, among the main chances. GAMBLESTOWN short back-up of seven days and amongst the placegetters last start running third at Rosehill, can figure. HUNTER JACK on a seven day back-up and only just missed in driving finish last start at Rosehill, not without each-way claims. HIGH OPINION has two placings from four runs this prep and rates highly with Tim Clark retaining the ride, in with a chance.

Race 9:
Hard to see anything beating the favourite. DON’T GIVE A DAMN back from 16 week spell. Can’t knock the form winning two in a row at Randwick and Rosehill, perfectly placed. MAGICAZ coming off a win at Warwick Farm and drops 6.5kg from last run, not the worst. WILD HEART a winner at first outing this prep and Brenton Avdulla a bonus, place chance. KAONIC back from 15 week spell. Looking for a hatrick after winning two in a row at Randwick and Canterbury, place only.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 6:
1 to lead if here and not waiting for later. Otherwise it could come down to 5, 2 and 9?? Either way, I would expect BYE SEE to cross and find a positive spot and from that positive spot she clearly looks the one to beat. I fancy she has still got some higher levels to advance to. SAMADOUBT resolutely honest of late ad rising to this journey won’t faze a galloper whose first city win came over 1600m. TAHSIN starting to put things together lately. If he jumps clean he could cross right up? Winning hope even if he doesn’t thoguh.
Selections 9 Bye See, 1 Samadoubt, 5 Tahsin, 3 Sizzling Bullet

Race 7:
8,3,2,7 set up in the front half in an Expressway made up of mostly 3YOs this year. Whether MEMES wants to push up and cross to the lead we will await to see. I fancy she will. ADDICTIVE NATURE has the speed to scoot up and keep her off the fence but he has been a little off-speed in recent trials and I reckon he might leave to the mares to do the leading. This boy is a 77 rater here but already a Group winner and those recent trials have seen him accelerate impressively. GLOBAL GLAMOUR has a couple of gear changes that could be significant. GOODFELLA was also sound up on the Gold Coast.
Selections 8 Addictive Nature, 2 Global Glamour, 7 Showtime

Race 8:
Not our most exciting race of the day. 4,3,10,8 do the leading. HUNTER JACK gets out to 2000m and will have Hyeronimus rating him to a T at or at least near the front. VAUCLUSE BAY gets Shinn on and really should be crossing forward to have his best chance. (Just to be sure let’s keep an eye on those Saturday morning tactics notifications, he’s often in them!). GAMBLESTOWN at 2000m? Well, he has had a run over this trip but was almost 4 years ago. Has raced well on 7 day backups – 5 attempts for three placings and a 4th (no wins but that’s the story of his life post late 2015.
Selections 4 Hunter Jack, 3 Vaucluse Bay, 1 Gamblestown, 7 High Opinion

Race 9:
1, 3 and 11 all dual acceptors at preview time so the race could ‘change shape’. What probably won’t change is the fact we have two lightly raced and very promising gallopers first-up. DON’T GIVE A DAMN was very impressive in his first campaign and how handy is it that McEvoy is back just in time to team up again with him. KAONIC abandoned his first campaign after three runs rather than head to Melbourne. He is a colt that most would expect to progress to stakes class this prep. He does need to negotiate a wide draw here though and presumably at 1600m and beyond is where he’ll really blossom. FORTENSKY and WILD HEART also ‘in the conversation’.
Selections 8 Don’t Give a Damn, 12 Kaonic, 1 Fortensky, 7 Wild Heart
