ITALIA BELLA (15) On paper this is a tricky race and it could pay to be with a horse at decent odds. This horse looks to be the value. MAGNUFIGHTER (4) Will require some luck in the run to win but will not be beaten easily. Watch it go close.

NURSE KITCHEN (4) Ready to show best and this trip looks ideal. Can feature here. FIRST CRUSH (6) Capable of an improved run here although meeting a classy field. Knock out and each way chance.

JAMAICAN RAIN (18) Expect a strong showing and can measure up here in this event. Take holding out. I’M A RIPPA (4) Can quicken smartly and has a good record over this trip. Rates well in this race. NICCANOVA (9) Honest enough runner who is by no means out of this. Multiples chance. RELIGIFY (2) Handy enough on its day. Can win if brings best and could cause a possible upset.

One of the day’s highlights is the Guineas where the main chances look to be at the top of the page with them all drawing wide gates. THE BOSTONIAN is probably the obvious however he is yet to race over the 1600m trip & this will be testing, so whilst I’m not knocking him I’ll go with better value & put MISHANI BULLIT on top who has raced well all prep & is a winner up to 1800m. He did plenty of work in the Qld Guineas & tried to pinch it at the top of the straight before tiring late. Chris Waller’s SEAWAY right in the mix also, shapes as will appreciate further however is off a slight freshen

Race 8:
To the Cup where the ‘iron horse’ Tradesman will go around for the third straight week with a different rider on each occasion. The Kiwi ‘mudlark’ Megablast led here last start & will likely adopt similar tactics, nos.1, 5 & 6 can all race handily however the speed doesn’t look overly strong on paper. With that being the case MEGABLAST will prove very hard to run down, kept fresh off the last start placing behind Egg Tart in the O’Shea where TRADESMAN ran 2nd & has since performed very well, that pair could well fight out the finish. NURSE KITCHEN gave away too big a start last run, include.

Race 9:
Capacity field all set to go around in the Glasshouse where on paper there doesn’t appear to be any great speed likely with I’m A Rippa & Religify the two most likely to push on. No shortage of winning chances however for me it’s the super consistent & extremely tough I’M A RIPPA who looked beaten for all money in the Eye Liner before raising another effort to outgun the in-form Tyzone, if they don’t go hard as the map suggests he’ll be tough to get past. PRIVLAKA has raced well all campaign & loves the Heavy ground (unbeaten). Big watch NICCANOVA, injury plagued however if on song can win.

Race 7:
THE BOSTONIAN led throughout for a dominant win last start at Doomben, leading hope. SEAWAY has won at Canterbury and placed three times this prep, dangerous. ITALIA BELLA trial win in the 20 days since last race adds confidence and has very strong form at Sunshine Coast, not the worst. TOUCH OF MINK 2 wins from six attempts this campaign and finished in the middle of the pack last start at Rosehill on a soft track, place claims.
Race 8:
TRADESMAN in strong form with two wins from seven attempts this campaign but placed as a favourite last start at Doomben, perfectly placed. MEGABLAST relishes the heavy, winning five in these conditions before and in strong form with two wins from seven attempts this campaign, dangerous. MISS DUBOIS ran four lengths back from the winner last start at Ipswich and won three of seven as a favourite, chance to place. SERGEANT BLAST relishes the heavy, place best.
Race 9:
NICCANOVA resumes from a 16 week spell and hasn’t run a bad race, genuine contender. JAMAICAN RAIN winner of last two at Moonee Valley and Cranbourne, dangerous. I’M A RIPPA led throughout for a dominant win last start at Ipswich on a soft track. Has been running well this campaign winning twice and placing in all other outings, in with a chance. ULMANN short back-up of seven days and drops 2.5kg from last run, capable of getting into the money.
