KEMENTARI (2) Ran 3rd by 0.8L to Winx two starts back. That form reads good enough here. PIERATA (4) Performed very well in Group class racing last prep. Main danger to the favourite. MUSIC MAGNATE (1) Enjoys racing over this track and trip. Can have an impact if fit enough. SHE WILL REIGN (9) Unbeaten fresh. Has drawn well and should have every hope today.

We’ve been eyeing this race on the calendar for a while and it’s turned up every bit as strong as we would want it to be I reckon. Leader comes from 1, 3 or 5. I suspect 5. SHOWTIME prefers placing to winning but I loved his sneaky little trial on Monday just gone and it was only Trapeze Artist that beat him first-up last prep. KEMENTARI no slouch fresh either. He’s been promising from the get-go but it was last prep that really established him as a high-grader and that prep started with a dominant 1200m win. EGYPTIAN SYMBOL and SHE WILL REIGN both possess formidable first-up records and PIERATA is hard to bag.

SHE WILL REIGN back from 16 week spell. Won at Warwick Farm when last fresh and won four of four first-up, the testing material. MUSIC MAGNATE back after 18 week break and proven first-up runner winning in three of six attempts including a win at Randwick last try, could threaten. PIERATA resumes from a 21 week spell and placed in both trials, don’t treat lightly. EGYPTIAN SYMBOL first-up after 23 week spell. Proven first-up winning four from five when fresh and placed at Rosehill last go, strong place chance.
