Newcastle vs. Watford

Back Watford in the head-to-head at 2.90 (Unibet)
Back Watford +0.5 in the Asian handicap at 1.54 (Betfair)

Newcastle sit second bottom of the table with a terrible 0-3-7 record. They had a tough schedule to start with but have since failed against a number of fellow strugglers. Goals have been the key issue, with the side finding the back of the net in just one of their last five matches. Newcastle have lost their last 5 straight home games with Brighton the latest side to leave St James’ Stadium with all three points. As I wrote last week, Watford have been a streaky side. They started with four consecutive wins, then picked up just one point from their next four fixtures, but have won their last two games by a combined 5 goals to nil. I’m backing them to continue their good run against a struggling Newcastle. Watford have a perfect 4-0-0 EPL record against Newcastle since 2015. Newcastle have a poor 2-3-6 record as the home favourite over the last 12 months.

Everton vs. Brighton

Back Everton in the head-to-head at 1.69 (Betfair)

Both teams bring strong 3-1-0 form into this fixture but Brighton’s three-game winning streak only includes one away fixture, which was against the winless Newcastle. They have gone 2-5-12 away from home over the last 12 months while Everton have gone 11-2-1 as the home favourite. Everton have won their last two home games by a combined 5 goals to nil.

Arsenal vs. Liverpool

Back over 2.5 goals at 1.58 (Betfair)

With Arsenal struggling with injuries to defensive players, this fixture has a high potential for goals. Even Crystal Palace scored two against them last week after failing to score in their previous four home games. As the home team Arsenal will feel compelled to have a crack at Liverpool, who are lethal on the counterattack. Eight of the last nine EPL fixtures between Arsenal and Liverpool went over 3.5 goals, with three of their last five meetings going over 5.5 goals. The last two meetings at Emirates Stadium resulted 3-4 and 3-3. If you had backed over 2.5 goals in every Arsenal home game and over 2.5 in every Liverpool away game over the last 12 months, you would be in profit.

Wolverhampton vs. Tottenham

Back under 2.5 goals at 1.90 (bet365)

Both teams have been involved in low scoring games recently, with both sides set up well defensively but not scoring prolifically. Wolverhampton’s last nine games have all gone under 2.5 goals with four of those going under 1.5 goals. Tottenham have been involved in four consecutive under 2.5-goal games and three consecutive under 1.5-goal games.

Manchester City vs. Southampton

Back Man City to win to nil at 1.80 (Neds)

Man City have gone 17-1-1 at home over the last 12 months and they have gone six consecutive games without conceding a goal. Southampton have a poor 1-4-5 record this season and have failed to score in their last five straight games.

Back the 3-0 correct score at 7.50 (bet365)

Five of Southampton’s ten away defeats over the last 12 months were by 3-goal margins while six were to nil. Their last two fixtures against top-six opponents resulted in 3-0 defeats to Liverpool and Chelsea.

Chelsea vs. Crystal Palace

Back the 2-1 correct score at 9.50 (bet365)
Back the 1-2 correct score at 34.00 (bet365)

Six of the last ten EPL meetings between Chelsea and Crystal Palace resulted in 2-1 scorelines. Crystal Palace have won two of their last three visits to Stamford Bridge.
