Unibet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 1:
CHICAGO BULL (5) Peter Gelagotis trained 2yo by Exceed And Excel having first race start. Strong hope. VINICUNCA (9) 2yo debutant sired by I Am Invincible for trainer Gai Waterhouse And Adrian Bott. No shock to see a win. ART COLLECTION (7) 2yo debutant by Fastnet Rock for trainer David Hayes Ben Hayes And Tom Dabernig. Chance in this field so include in exotics. KNOWLES (8) 2yo by Starspangledbanner first starter for trainer Darren Weir and has drawn the rails. Meeting a good field and you can take on trust here.
Selections: 5 Chicago Bull, 9 Vinicunca, 7 Art Collection, 8 Knowles

Race 8:
AMPHITRITE (1) Class filly who looks set to get a much better run in transit today. Rates on top. ARISTIA (2) Strong win in the Wakeful Stakes last start and should enjoy the step up to 2500m. Winning claims. VERRY ELLEEGANT (4) Will be finishing off strongly if the pace is on early. This not out of reach. QAFILA (3) Worked home well when clear at Flemington last time out. Can be played on an each-way basis.
Selections: 1 Amphitrite, 2 Aristia, 4 Verry Elleegant, 3 Qafila

Race 9:
HUMMA HUMMA (3) Put in a competitive run when placing 2nd last start at Caulfield. Must be considered. BLEU ROCHE (16) Solid effort when winning three runs back at Sale. Has a nice turn of foot. Will be competitive. MERYL (1) Was all too good winning two runs back at Moonee Valley. Likes to settle forward. Don’t leave out of trifectas. VOILA (10) Solid effort when winning last start at Warwick Farm but racing in stronger company here. Tracking very well this campaign. Minor prospects
Selections: 3 Humma Humma, 16 Bleu Roche, 1 Meryl, 10 Voila

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 1:
None of these are going to surprise. CHICAGO BULL was a “huge spruik” before his scratching Cox Plate Day. ART COLLECTION and VINICUNCA (stable’s 2yos are flying) have been impressing at the Flemington jump-outs. Found a Stawell jump-out for KNOWLES. She looked good but it was against other un-raced 2yos and would have no idea how to line her up. The fact that we don’t see many Weir 2yos is probably a good sign. WEDGETAIL had excuses at MV last time after a good debut. FANAAR jumped out well down the straight before a solid debut. MEMPHIS ROCK looked a blinker candidate here first go. The betting will be fascinating.
Selections: 7. Art Collection, 9. Vinicunca, 2. Fanaar, 5. Chicago Bull

Race 8:
AMPHITRITE is attempting to emulate the 2011 Oaks winner Mosheen (she won by 9 lengths) by contesting the Edward Manifold, The Thousand Guineas and the Group 1 mares 1600m as lead up form to this race. She seems a relaxed filly so happy to think she will stay the 2500m. If she does run the trip she should be too classy. GREYSFUL GLAMOUR is the danger. Like Extra Brut she put in a plain one on that slow track. She also rode the fast speed that day and her jockey suggested she didn’t go inside horses. She won well prior, remembering she had SIZZLEME (Ethereal and Wakeful form) in her wake. ARISTIA maps well. ZAPURLER is going to stay. QAFILA, VERRY ELLEEGANT, COLLECTABLE and MARACAIBO are all in the game.
Selections: 1. Amphitrite, 5. Greysful Glamour, 2. Aristia, 11. Zapurler

Race 9:
Good race but it’s wide. We haven’t seen the best of GONGS in Melbourne. Get a feeling down the straight with a freshen up we might. HUMMA MUMMA has chased good fillies home all prep and is sure to be thereabouts again. MULTAJA, like GONGS has had a freshen and if she can find her best will be hard to beat. Love the way VOILA jumped out with the competing Coolmore horses October 26. BAM’S ON FIRE is an exciting Perth filly who has had her issues at the start. Two recent trials suggest she’s over those issues. BLEU ROCHE’s effort at MV was just outstanding and if she’s recovered from that tough run she’ll go close.
Selections: 16. Bleu Roche, 2. Gongs, 5. Multaja, 10. Voila

Betfair – Race Analysis & Selections:

Race 1:
Pace from Abshiroo out wide and perhaps a first starter. WEDGETAIL has raced twice and has shown good ability but had little luck last time at Moonee Valley. Rates strongly and worth another chance here. Should be winding up strongly. Team Hayes has a great chance in the race with three runners. MEMPHIS ROCK was fourth on debut in stakes grade and wasn’t far away. Blinkers go on here and expected to be much improved. FANAAR was well supported on debut over in Adelaide and just missed. Should be winding up strongly again here. ART COLLECTION is the third runner for the stable and makes debut without a trial but blinkers on and is worth watching for a betting push.
1. Wedgetail (5 stars)
2. Memphis Rock (4 stars)
3. Fanaar (4 stars)

Race 8:
Pace only moderate with Greysful Glamour and from wider out Sizzleme sliding across. Giving AMPHITRITE another chance. Didn’t have any luck in the Empire Rose Stakes but won the 1000 Guineas the start prior. Rates highly and expected to go close now out to the longer journey. ARISTIA was the clear winner of the traditional lead up – The Wakeful Stakes – over Qafila. Drawn for a good run and peaks here. Expected to be in the finish. VERRY ELLEEGANT was caught up on the inside in the Wakeful and did work home well without threatening. Different race here and expected to bounce back. QAFILA is building up to a win and gets chance to show best. ZAPURLER is a last start winner who looks well placed and drawn for a good run. Of the rougher hopes MARACAIBO has stayer written all over her and has really put it together once over ground. Class will test but will run the trip and can sneak into the finish at odds.
1. Amphitrite (5 stars)
2. Aristia (4 stars)
3. Verry Elleegant (4 stars)

Race 9:
Pace strong but expect Final Choice to lead them all from the middle. MERYL was a Group 3 winner two back then placed in that class last time behind Sunlight which augers well after she beat the boys in Group 1 class last weekend. This easier and drawn to be camped just off the lead bunch. Looks a top chance. HUMMA HUMMA is long overdue for a win and should go close. Also comes out of the race Sunlight won before her Group 1 success, finishing runner up. Deserves a win and gets chance here. PROPELLE resumed from a break a winner at Moonee Valley and can only be further improved. SCHILLDORA has won her last two and drawn to come right down the outside. Have to include especially if the wear and tear on the inside is taking its toll. MULTAJA and VOILA are among the chances for the multiples.
1. Meryl (5 stars)
2. Humma Humma (4 stars)
3. Propelle (4 stars)

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 1:
ART COLLECTION Is a Fastnet Rock filly having her first race start with no official trial but would have been well prepared by the Hayes and Dabernig team. Will be respecting any positive betting moves. WEDGETAIL Was placed in the Inglis Debutant Stakes on debut when she hit the line strongly but was a touch disappointing at Moonee Valley last start. Has the advantage of race experience and is worth another chance. FANAAR Raced on the speed when a half-length second at Morphettville Parks on debut. Is a stablemate of the top pick from the Hayes and Dabernig stable so the betting likely to tell the tale. CHICAGO BULL Is an Exceed And Excel colt with the Peter Gelagotis polish. No trial to guide us so looking to the betting for a lead.

Race 8:
AMPHITRITE Never saw daylight in the Empire Rose at Flemington on Saturday and looked to have plenty to offer. Won her previous four starts including the Thousand Guineas at Caulfield and just needs even luck in running to be right in the finish. ARISTIA Broke her maiden status winning the Wakeful on Saturday. Staying looks her go and there is nothing to suggest she won’t go back to back. VERRY ELLEEGANT Finished an unlucky third in the Edward Manifold before making amends in the Ethereal Stakes at Caulfield. Was a beaten favourite in the Wakeful but still recorded the best late sectionals. Has been over-racing which won’t help over the 2500m but if she settles would take a power of beating. QAFILA Was held-up at a vital time before working home nicely when clear in the Wakeful Saturday. Races like the 2500m will suit and she is right in the mix.

Race 9:
HUMMA HUMMA Hasn’t missed a place in her seven starts to date including a win at Sandown earlier in the preparation and has been placed in her five subsequent starts including a runner-up finish in the Thoroughbred Club Stakes at Caulfield last start. This looks her chance to register career win number two. MERYL Won the Scarborough Stakes at Moonee Valley two back before finishing two and a half lengths from the winner at Caulfield last start. She’s right in play with James McDonald in the saddle. MULTAJA Won two of her first three starts but has been disappointing last couple. She’s capable of improving sharply with the Godolphin polish. ASSERTIVE PLAY Was less than a length from the winner when fifth in the William Crockett Stakes at Moonee Valley last start and goes in all the exotics.
