BetEasy – Race Synopsis:

Race 3:
LORD ARTHUR (8) is a talented Kiwi who showed his staying credentials when winning the G2 Championship Stakes at Ellerslie last start. Hasn’t raced for a month but is drawn to advantage and gets McDonald aboard. If he runs up to his last-start rating he should have the edge on these. A MAN TO MATCH (2) kept finding the line well when runner up in the Rough Habit Plate last start. Placed at his only previous attempt at this distance and should be hitting his peak fourth up. GRINZINGER STAR (1) was chopped out last start and pulled up lame so ignore that. Won his previous two at Caulfield and has upside. BOBBY DEE (9) is another Kiwi who placed behind Lord Arthur in the Championship Stakes and has won at this distance since. Respect. VOW AND DECLARE (4) is on the up and can improve out to this trip third up.

Race 4:
QUILISTA (4) couldn’t have been more impressive when she led and raced away for an easy 3.5L win in the Listed Bright Shadow. Has to go another 100m which is a query but there doesn’t look to be a too much early pressure. If she can dictate she will be hard to catch. SAVATIANO (8) looked the winner of the Dark Jewel at Scone last time until grabbed in the finals strides. Loves 1300m with two wins and three placings from five attempts. Danger. SEXY EYES (6) won the Weetwood in good style first up then was galloped on last start. Drawn to get the favours. INVINCIBELLA (1) is classy and loves this distance. Could be a big improver second up. ECKSTEIN (5) is a capable mare freshened since the Sydney carnival. Looking for better.

Race 5:
LITE’N IN MY VEINS (4) returned to winning form when scoring by 1.3m over this distance at Morphettville. Does his best work at the mile and although drawn a touch wide he may be able to roll across to the fence without doing to much work. If that is the case he could be hard to get past. TOM MELBOURNE (1) is tough to back with confidence but he continues to race well with placing at his past three outings. Expect him to be right in the finish again. ORDER AGAIN (12) has been close up at his past two runs in stakes races at Doomben and won here over 1500m three back. Major player. DUCA VALENTINOIS (7) has found the line well in both runs since a spell and is a three-time third-up winner. LE JUGE (5) just keeps winning. Back in trip but has earned respect.

Race 8:
THE BOSTONIAN (2) did a great job to score an upset win in the Doomben 10,000 in what was a stronger field on paper than this. Unbeaten in Queensland and is two from two at this distance. Known as a fresh horse but still has a 50 per cent strike rate second up. Capable of back to back G1 wins. TREKKING (6) has really put it together now having hit the line well to win stakes races at his past two outings. Won the Luskin Star last start at his first try at 1300m and he is drawn to get the favours. Smart three-year-old RINGERDINGDING (14) was freshened after his Carbine Club win but has trialled since. May be more of a Stradbroke horse but look for him hitting the line hard. HOME OF THE BRAVE (7) disappointed first up but is better than that. Worth another chance. Doomben 10,000 placegetter DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR (5) and Victory Stakes winner I AM EXCITED (12) both deserve places in exotics.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 3:
Main lead-up race heading into the Derby in a fortnight’s time. The Baker/Forsman training combination from New Zealand hold a strong hand here with the visiting pair LORD ARTHUR & BOBBY DEE. Like the look of the former who if able to bring his last start Group 2 winning form from Ellerslie across the ditch he appears the one to beat. Settling well back in the field he unleashed a big finish to level up late before moving clear to the line over 2100m. The local A MAN TO MATCH will run the trip right out & can at least place. BOBBY DEE In the mix whilst GRIZINGER STAR may just need this one.
Selections: 8. Lord Arthur, 2. A Man To Match, 9. Bobby Dee, 1. Grinzinger Star

Race 4:
Quilista should lead here as she did last Saturday at Doomben when winning, don’t see a lot of likely challengers at this stage suggesting she’ll again prove tough to run down. Each-way SEXY EYES may be the way to go, obviously good at Toowoomba before drifting too far back the Coast (heavy track-galloped on), her effort to still run into 4th spot was a good one & from a decent draw today can settle handier. QUILISTA must go in, she’s in hot form & if left alone will take plenty of catching. INVINCIBELLA birngs the class to the race, look for her to be sweeping home wide out late.
Selections: 6. Sexy Eyes, 4. Quilista, 1. Invincibella, 8. Savatiano

Race 5:
Tom Melbourne should just about lead here, the Victorian Lite’n in My Veins likely to push on from wide out whilst there’s no reason ORDER AGAIN cannot take up a prominent spot off his ideal draw & he’s the one I’m leaning towards. Closed off well at Doomben in a race where the leaders were well suited & will lap up getting back to the bigger expanses of Eagle Farm. We know TOM MELBOURNE likes to run 2nd & he can do so once again here, wouldn’t count him out as a winning chance either however he is Tom Melbourne! Can’t overlook LE JUGE either, back in trip however keeps on winning!
Selections: 12. Order Again , 1. Tom Melbourne, 5. Le Juge, 3. Cellarman

Race 8:
The day’s feature is this Group 1 which will be a good guide to the upcoming Stradbroke Handicap. Home Of The Brave will be looking to get over from the wide gate, that should help generate at least a genuine tempo with others capable of pushing up inside. Thought the WA galloper MAN BOOKER was terrific in the 10,000 still running on late after racing wide all the way, his form back home is very good & he’s well up to this. THE BOSTONIAN was an unexpected winner of the same race, he’s an absolute gun when on the fresh side & will figure in the finish again. Many other hopes though!
Selections: 9. Man Booker, 2. The Bostonian, 6. Trekking, 4. Chapter And Verse

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 3:
LORD ARTHUR (8) Handy enough when winning last start at Ellerslie and tracking very well this campaign. Will be motoring home late. Looks suited and must be respected. A MAN TO MATCH (2) Stormed home when 2nd last time at Doomben. Can go through the gears. Among better hopes. GRINZINGER STAR (1) Chimed in with a win two runs back at Caulfield and very competitive this preparation. Has a great burst of speed late. Contender in this event. BOBBY DEE (9) Won narrowly last run at Te Rapa but up against stronger competition today. Could work into the placings

Race 4:
QUILISTA (4) Made a mess of them when winning last start at Doomben and should jump out and bowl along. Looks a suitable field and easily up to these. SAVATIANO (8) Tidy effort when 2nd last time at Scone. Has early speed and positions nicely. Include in chances. SEXY EYES (6) Was first to greet the judge when winning two runs back at Toowoomba and Robbie Fradd is a plus. Very competitive this preparation. Has claims. INVINCIBELLA (1) Got the upper hand late when winning two runs back at Gold Coast and can go through the gears. Should be competitive in this race at a bit of odds

Race 5:
LITE’N IN MY VEINS (4) Winner last start at Morphettville but up in class. One of the major players. TOM MELBOURNE (1) Almost snapped up a win when 2nd last run at Doomben. Must be considered. ORDER AGAIN (12) Solid win three runs back at this venue and gets a favourable gate. Contender. LE JUGE (5) Game effort to win last run at Doomben and going well this campaign. Capable of better

Race 8:
TREKKING (6) Got the job done again in nice fashion in the Luskin Star at Scone. Can bring up a hat-trick of wins today. THE BOSTONIAN (2) Dashed up the rail to win the Doomben 10,000 at massive odds last start. Could repeat the dose. I AM EXCITED (12) Caused an upset when sprinting home well in the Victory Stakes. Each way claims. HOME OF THE BRAVE (7) Needs to cross from the wide gate but has the class to take this out. Not an impossible task.
