Man Utd vs. Man City |
Â
Man City +0 (Draw No Bet) at 1.53 (Betfair)
Man City +0.5 (Double Chance) at 1.36 (Betfair)
At the time of writing, Michael Carrick is the most likely candidate for the role of interim manager for Man Utd until the end of the season, but he likely won’t have a chance to join training until Wednesday. Man City, meanwhile, have just signed Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo. City have gone 9-3-4 as the away favourite over the last twelve months. In recent years they have gone 5-2-2 as the away favourite against United. Man Utd come into this fixture on the back of three draws against sides who are battling to avoid relegation: Wolves, Leeds and Burnley. They then lost at home to Brighton in the FA Cup. The reason I’m backing Man City in the draw no bet market rather than the head-to-head is because they will involved in a midweek EFL Cup game against Newcastle.
Tottenham vs. West Ham |
Â
Tottenham in the head-to-head at 1.78 (Betfair)
Tottenham +0 (Draw No Bet) at 1.34 (Betfair)
I don’t usually like to back a mercurial side like Tottenham, but this is just a bet against West Ham. The Hammers bring 0-3-6 form into this game. Their most recent away fixture saw them lose 3-0 to the beleaguered Wolves. Spurs beat West Ham 3-0 at London Stadium in September.
Sunderland vs. Crystal Palace |
Â
Sunderland +0 (Draw No Bet) at 1.94 (Betfair)
Sunderland +0.5 (Double Chance) at 1.51 (Betfair)
Sunderland boast an unbeaten 5-5-0 home record this season. The fatigued and injury-hit Crystal Palace are on a nine-game winless streak in all competitions.
Wolves vs. Newcastle |
Â
Wolves +1.5 at 1.40 (bet365)
Wolves bring a three-game unbeaten streak into this game. They haven’t lost at home by a 2+ goal margin to Newcastle since 1958. Newcastle have gone 2-3-5 away from home this season. The Magpies will be backing up following their midweek EFL Cup semi-final clash against Arsenal. Newcastle also have a UEFA Champion League clash against PSV in the following midweek, so they could be forgiven for having one eye on that.
Aston Villa vs. Everton |
Â
Aston Villa in the head-to-head at 1.71 (Betfair)
Aston Villa have won eight straight at home in the EPL. They have also won four straight at home against Everton. Looking back at longer-term data, Villa have gone 8-1-0 as the favourite against Everton over the last twelve years. The Toffees will be without the suspended Michael Keane. This is in addition to their AFCON absentees Ndiaye and Gana.
Brighton vs. Bournemouth |
Â
Brighton +0 (Draw No Bet) at 1.45 (Betfair)
Brighton +0.5 (Double Chance) at 1.31 (Betfair)
Brighton have gone 5-4-1 at home this season while Bournemouth have gone 1-4-5 away from home. In the Premier League, the Seagulls have a 4-1-1 home record against the Cherries. Bournemouth have only won one of their last 12 EPL fixtures and they will now have to make do without Antoine Semenyo. The winger had recorded 10 league goals this season prior to his mid-season departure to Man City.
