To take advantage of the odds before they possibly shorten, these previews are usually published before the team sheets are announced. Those who are more risk-averse should wait for the squad lists before wagering.

Moana Pasifika

Moana Pasifika vs. Force

Force

Over 58.5 at 1.50 (Neds)

This game features the two sides who were involved in the highest scoring games last season. The Force averaged 59.3 total points last year, while Moana Pasifika averaged 67.8. Both sides have started this season with high-scoring fixtures, too. The Force have averaged 77.0 total points in 2026, while Moana Pasifika have averaged 64. Last season the two sides played in a game that saw an eye-watering 89 total points.

Moana Pasifika in the head-to-head at 1.75 (betr)

Spanning this season and the last, the Force have lost and failed to cover the line in seven straight games. The Force have a 0-6 head-to-head record and a 1-5 line record away from home over the last twelve months. Moana Pasifika ended last season with two home wins and over the last twelve months they have gone 5-2 at the line at home. While they were crushed by the Hurricanes last week, I’m still impressed by their away win over the Drua in Lautoka in Round 1. Moana Pasifika won their only previous home game against the Force and they covered the line in all three previous fixtures against the Perth side.

SGM: Moana Pasifika in the head-to-head and Over 55.5 at 2.40 (betr)

A same-game multi candidate for this game is to pair a high-scoring fixture with a Moana Pasifika win.

Fijian Drua

Fijian Drua vs. Hurricanes

Hurricanes

Hurricanes -9.5 at 1.47 (bet365)

I’m usually loathed to back the away side in Lautoka, but overcast conditions are forecast for Saturday and the Fijian Drua lost their opening round fixture at this venue to Moana Pasifika – a side that went on to be defeated by a 42-point margin by the Hurricanes a week later. When the Fijian Drua lose, they tend to lose badly. Over the last twelve months all nine of their defeats came by 13+ margins. Those looking for more risk should consider the Hurricanes 13+ at 1.68 (bet365).

Brumbies

Brumbies vs. Blues

Blues

Brumbies in the head-to-head at 1.42 (PlayUp)

The Brumbies have started the season on a flyer by thrashing both the Force and Crusaders away from home. They now return to Canberra, where they have gone 5-1 (4-2 at the line) over the last twelve months. The Blues have a 1-5 record as the underdog over the last twelve months and they failed to cover the line the last two times they visited Canberra as the underdog.
