Bookmaker Margin
The bookmaker margin (overround) is a measure of the bookmaker’s profit margin for an event and is a hidden transaction cost for punters. This profit is how bookmakers finance their services but bookmakers vary in the margins they apply. From a punter’s perspective, the lower the margin, the better. Learn more about bookmaker margins.
next2go was not included in our most recent bookmaker margins and markets survey.
Our first impression is that next2go’s odds for Australian sports are very competitive. In a benchmark test against the bookmaker with the best sports odds in our latest margins survey, next2go offered the best available head-to-head odds for:
– six teams out of eight NRL games
– four teams out of nine AFL games
– five outcomes out of eight EPL games
This makes next2go an excellent option for those who like to shop around for the best odds.
next2go’s margins are competitive as well. The line and total market even odds are 1.90. From the head-to-head markets we surveyed their margins were only a fraction above the best performer in our latest margins survey. This would make next2go a good option for those who are looking for just one membership.
Sports Markets
In May 2025, we observed markets for Australian rules (AFL), baseball (MLB & Japan), basketball (8 leagues), boxing & MMA, cricket, cycling, darts, golf, ice hockey (7 leagues), motor sport (F1), rugby league (NRL, Super League & State of Origin Women), rugby union, snooker, soccer (50 leagues & competitions), tennis (ATP, WTA, Challenger) and volleyball. A strong depth of leagues are offered, but the most obscure leagues (ITF tennis, etc.) are not. Unless you’re looking to wager in some backwater competition, next2go will meet your needs.
A strong range of markets is offered for the headline fixtures. For example, we observed 38 markets for an upcoming NRL games and too many markets to count for an NBA game. For less popular events you just get the primary markets. We observed 2 markets per game for ATP tennis and 1 market per game for the MLB (1 day in advance).
Same-game multi (SGM) betting is supported for the popular competitions.
Futures markets are available for popular leagues such as the AFL, MLB and NRL.
In-Play Betting
In-play phone betting is not available at the time of review.
Betting Interface
next2go employs the ultra-fast BetMakers betting platform. The website employs a responsive design that tailors the layout to suit the screen size of your device. This review will focus on the three-column layout that is displayed on laptops and PCs.
The website uses the ubiquitous layout with navigation on the left, markets and odds in the centre and the betting slip on the right.
The sports, racing and account categories are listed in an expandable format. Featured sports are listed in their own box. Upcoming races are displayed across the top of the page.
Breadcrumbs are provided but no search feature is available.
Overall, the navigation is beginner-friendly and immediately feels familiar for experienced punters.
When you select a sport, a list of fixtures is displayed along with the head-to-head odds.
A SGM icon is shown for games that support same-game multis. The number of markets available per game are not shown.
Selections that are already in your betting slip are highlighted in the odds area.
When a specific game is selected, the markets are displayed in groups with tabs at the top to switch between them. By default just the Main Markets table is displayed. This typically features just the head-to-head market, but occasionally also includes the total score.
The betting slip displays both multi and single bet options. A ‘Stake All Singles’ option is provided. This enables you to enter the same stake for all single bets in your slip. The multi bet tab enables you to remove selected legs from your multi.
Where promotional boosts and offers are available, they are displayed with icons next to the applicable selections in the betting slip.
Overall, the betting interface is incredibly fast and beginner-friendly. The only punters who might find their nose put out of joint are those who enjoy handicap (line) betting, because you will have to select each game and then open the Handicap Markets tab each time.
Horse Racing
The next2go racing interface is immediately intuitive. A speed map and runner ratings are available, along with tips supplied by RaceLab. A same-race multi link is available to quickly use those selections provided by the tipping service. You can also build your own SRM using win, top 2, top 3 and top 4 markets.
The fixed odds are competitive. We compared the fixed odds for upcoming races to the best performing bookmaker in our latest bookmaker margins survey and we regularly observed better odds on genuine contenders with next2go.
Best Tote is commonly offered for metro win markets, while middle Tote is offered for place markets. For regional thoroughbreds we observed top fluc for win. For harness and greyhounds we observed middle Tote for win and place. SP is also available.
Generally, fixed odds are only available on the day of the race.
A strong range of racecourses are supported from around the world.
Those who enjoy fixed odds wagering in the days leading up to an event will be disappointed, but everyone else is very well catered for.

Bottom Line
next2go is one of the best new bookmakers we’ve seen in a while. The betting platform is feature-packed, but what sets the service apart from other new entrants is the competitive odds. We benchmarked their odds against the best performing bookmakers in our latest bookmaker margins survey and we constantly found selections at greater odds with next2go. This makes the service excellent for those who enjoy odds shopping. Their competitive margins also make the service suitable as a standalone membership. Fixed odds wagering in the days leading up to a race isn’t yet supported, but that was the only real knock we could find on the service.
