NRL Round 7 Preview and Tips – Saturday Fixtures

THE LONG HARD LOOK WITH MIKE WILSON

SATURDAY

Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks v North Queensland Cowboys
Toyota Stadium, 5:30pm

Despite having lost 3 consecutive matches now, the Sharks are not playing the worst brand of footy at the moment. They need to iron out small patches of their game where things get a bit amateurish. The Cowboys are looking pretty solid but away from home it can be a different story. They are going to rely on Thurston quite a bit here. The Cowboys have not won in NSW in over 11 months.

Mike’s Best Bet: Sharks to win head to head @ $1.80 (Betfair)

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs v South Sydney Rabbitohs
ANZ Stadium, 7:30pm

These two went head to head only 5 weeks ago, and I don’t think much will change from when the Bulldogs got on top of the bunnies then. The Bunnies no doubt put in a gallant effort against the reigning premiers last week, but backing up with that kind of intensity with only a 5 day turn around may prove to be a task too tough. Look for the Bulldogs to hit their straps in the second half.

Mike’s Best Bets: None
