NRL Round 13 Preview and Tips – Parramatta Eels v St. George Illawarra Dragons

THE LONG HARD LOOK WITH MIKE WILSON

Parramatta Eels v St. George Illawarra Dragons
Parramatta Stadium, 7:35pm

Another game is put in front of us with two teams that met only 5 weeks earlier. Whoever did the 2011 draw should get the sack. In the last 2 meetings of these sides the Dragons have won 30-0 both times. News came out today that Matt Cooper will undergo surgery for fractures to his eye socket and may miss 4-6 weeks. Brett Morris will join him on the sidelines with a hamstring injury he picked up last week and looks very doubtful for State of Origin game 2 in Sydney. Once again Daniel Mortimer won’t play and has been named at halfback for the Wentworthville NSW Cup side. Casey Maguire takes on the 5/8th role for the 3rd consecutive week and I’ve got to say, is form has been been quite good in the number 6 jersey, but it’s clearly a hindrance having Jarryd Hayne hovering around neither here nor there. I would like to see Hayne put back in the role he was playing in 2009/2010 and stop copping the blame for underperforming team mates.

So in the game we watched 5 weeks ago I’m tipping the Dragons. I might as well tip a 30-0 victory again yeah? I’ll take off one try for the omission of Cooper and Morris and tip 24-0 to the Dragons.

Mike’s Best Bet: None
