THE LONG HARD LOOK WITH MIKE WILSON
Wests Tigers v Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
Campbelltown Sports Stadium, 7.35pm
Tigers $2.10, Bulldogs $1.70
Tigers: Wade McKinnon, Beau Ryan, Blake Ayshford, Tim Simona, Mitch Brown, Jacob Miller, Robert Lui, Bryce Gibbs, Robbie Farah (c), Keith Galloway, Simon Dwyer, Gareth Ellis, Chris Heighington. Interchange (from): Tim Moltzen, Liam Fulton, Aaron Woods, Andrew Fifita, Ben Murdoch-Masila.
Bulldogs: Ben Barba, Steve Turner, Josh Morris, Jamal Idris, Jonathan Wright, Kris Keating, Trent Hodkinson, Aiden Tolman, Michael Ennis, Michael Hodgson, Frank Pritchard, Andrew Ryan (c), David Stagg. Interchange: Sam Kasiano, Greg Eastwood, Corey Payne, Dene Halatau.
No Benji Marshall for the Tigers this week following his sustained knee injury from last weeks game against the Storm. The Tiger’s NYC halfback Jacob Miller takes his place at five eighth. On the other hand for the Bulldogs they will welcome back hooker Michael Ennis, centre Jamal Idris and suspended halfback Trent Hodkinson.
Look for Ennis to be doing his very best to get on top of his opposite number 9 with plenty of niggle that he is renowned for, yet always tries to play down in the media. You’re not fooling us Ennis the menace!
I’m tipping the Bulldogs in this one. I don’t want a bar of the Tigers without Benji Marshall at the moment. I don’t trust Robert Lui to make the right decisions whether he is first or second receiver. Plus the 5 day turnaround from last week will not help the Tigers.
Trent Hodkinson’s kicking game will be the key to a Bulldogs victory.
Mike’s Best Bet: $63 on the Bulldogs -2.0 @ $1.80 (Sportingbet)
As a ‘Dogs supporter I like your tip but have little confidence due to their form (and also off the short turn around – same as the Tigers).
Liking ‘Dogs 1-12 also for a bit more value…
