AFL Round 14 Sunday Games

Geelong vs Adelaide, SS,  Sun 26th June, 1.10 pm

Last time:  ADE(94) def GEE (63)

Geelong

In: Hawkins, Mich Brown(new), Gilllies, Christensen.  Out: Hunt (Suspended), Milburn (calf), Stokes (suspended), Vardy (sore).

Adelaide

In: Rieley, Tambling,  Ian Callinan (New) Out: Symes (Knee), Schmidt, Gunston

Cant Remember the last time Adelaide won in Geelong but I’m tipping it was back as far as 2003. I doubt they are going to end Geelong’s unbeaten run this week, but its not the worst week to be coming up against the Cats with Selwood out, Bartell Groggy and a few other notable players missing. Adelaide have played okay in patches lately but have really struggled to put in a four quarter performance recently.  Some good débutantes for this game, Mitch brown coming in  has been named at full forward for the cats and might worth a punt for most goals in the game if you can find somewhere to get on, believe he’s been kicking a few goals in the VFL. Also Ian Callinan comes in for the crows, a mature age recruit, was set to play round one before injuring his biceps in an NAB challenge game against Carlton.

Joe’s Bet Adelaide at the line (+50.5) @ 1.85 (TAB Sportsbet)

Carlton vs West Coast, ES,  Sun 26th June, 2.10 pm

Last time: WCE(83) def by CAR(109)

Carlton

In: Armfield, Warnock, Rhys O’keeffe (New) Out: Hampson (knee), Duigan (calf), Curnow (quad) .

West Coast

In: Mackenzie. Out: McGinnity

Potentially the game of the round, 4th vs 5th. Carlton have won the last 4 against the eagles and are playing their best football in years to become a genuine premiership contender. West Coast are also playing well and out of no where have become a contender for a top four position.  Still a question mark over the eagles ability to perform on Melbourne grounds, they will need to wind a way to move the ball through the corridor to Etihad rather than their usual moment around the  wings at Paterson stadium. Warnock is back into the team to help Kreuzer also returned and in good form against Cox and Naitinui. Carlton definitely have an edge in the midfield but West Coast should be able to match  it with the blues around the ground. Expecting Carlton to win this one by around about 4 goals in an entertaining game.
Joe’s Bet Carlton 1-39  @ 2.25 (Sportsbet)

Port Adelaide vs North Melbourne , AS,  Sun 26th June, 4.10 pm

Last time: NTM (133) def by PA (73)

Port Adelaide

In: Rodan, Moore. Out: Motlop, Pettigrew

North Melbourne

In: Richardson. Out: McMahon (Family Reasons)

A danger game for the kangaroos, they are the better side at the moment and are in better form, but can not afford to loose this one if the want to make an appearance in finals this year. Port Adelaide have the ability to win this one if they play well and North Melbourne are off their guard. Rodan has made another quick recovery from a knee injury and is a good inclusion for the Power, while Motlop has been dropped from the squad. Earlier this year the Kangaroos recorded their first win against the power by a 10 goal margin and have since turned around their season winning 6 of the last 9. Last week North had a good win over the now struggling Bombers, while Port were competitive in a loss against the eagles. With the form of Daniel Wells in recent weeks its no coincidence that North have started winning games, if he has a big one they are going to be hard to stop.

Joe’s Bet North Melbourne  @ 1.53 (Sportsbet)
