Ladbrokes race comments:

Race 6:
OMEI SWORD Impressive winner of the Silver Shadow before hitting the line strongly in the Golden Rose. Looks ideally suited stepping up to the mile and the one to beat. YANKEE ROSE Wasn’t suited leading in the Golden Rose. Three weeks between runs but has trialled in the interim. Expecting an improved run here. AWOKE chequered path down the straight in the Tea Rose and should have finished closer. Looking for further and ready to win. GLOBAL GLAMOUR less than a length from the winner in the Tea Rose last start. Racing like she is looking for the step up in distance and rates as one of the chances.

Race 7:
HAPPY CLAPPER has had an ideal preparation. Placed in the Doncaster and Queen Elizabeth in the Autumn. Peaks third-up and just needs clear running at the right time from the inside gate to be right in the finish. HAURAKI has come back in great order winning the Tramway first-up and chased home Winx in the Tramway. Should be right at his peak third-up and right in the mix. FABRIZIO putting together an imposing record with five wins from eight starts. Going from a benchmark win to a G1 but was ultra-impressive last start leading all the way and record excellent speed figures. Will be in this for a long way. LE ROMAIN Randwick Guineas winner this track and distance in the Autumn and runner-up all three runs this time. Gets a nice run from the gate and one of the main chances.

Race 8:
WHO SHOT THEBARMAN put the writing on the wall chasing home Hartnell in the Hill Stakes. The BMW runner-up this trip in the Autumn and preparation looks timed to the minute. MAGIC HURRICANE chasing back to back Metropolitans after winning with 55.5kg last year. Looks well placed with a kilo less here and rates as one of the key chances. DEE I CEE placed this track and distance last preparation. Runner-up both runs this time in including a fighting second in the Newcastle Cup last start. Looks the leader and will take plenty of running down. ANTONIO GIUSEPPE has worked through the grades in impressive fashion but is going from a benchmark 78 to a G1. Clearly his toughest test to date but an 8kg weight drops helps and gets the run of the race from the gate.

Ladbrokes race comments:

Hartnell has been in flying form in Sydney. Suited on the big track with a bit of give in the ground, he has to be tough to beat. Jameka will only improve off her soft win last start and she gets a perfect run, she’s a big danger. The United States will be launching late and Our Ivanhowe has some claims as he’ll love getting his toe in the ground.
