Match Comments

Middlesbrough vs Leicester

The value indicators for this game are weak and mixed and we would be leaving this game alone.

West Brom vs Hull

Hull are in terrible form away from home but according to the stats they still offer some value. That might be because the opposition are priced at odds on and this seems too short given their unpredictable nature.

Everton vs Southampton

Koeman plays his old team Southampton and there is little to separate these two teams. Everton have the home advantage but it hasn’t helped them recently and the value is with the Saints. The away team has won 42% of the time in similar games compared with Southampton’s price of 27% (3.75).

Sunderland vs Liverpool

Liverpool are way too short here, we’re not sure any team should be priced at 1.40 to win away. Liverpool have won just over half their games on a rolling season and similar game basis so giving them a 71% of winning is too high. The Asian Handicap would be the way to back Sunderland with the Home team winning 30 of 40 similar games with a 1.5 goal head-start.

Man City vs Burnley

It is probably Burnley’s abysmal away record rather than Man Cities home record that sees the home team at one of the shortest prices this season. There is no value backing Man City, but you couldn’t bet on Burnley either.

West Ham vs Man United

We like the look of West Ham here at a generous price of 5.50. On both metrics they look like value and this is the sort of game you could see an upset. The hammers also look good on the Asian Handicap with a 0.75 goal head-start.

Bournemouth vs Arsenal

Bournemouth at shades under 5 are the value team but that doesn’t make Arsenal bad value so we would steer clear of this game.

Stoke vs Watford

There are no clear indicators for this game either and this would be another to avoid. Of note is Watfords poor away record, but there just isn’t enough in the price for us to see value in Stoke.

Crystal Palace vs Swansea

Probably the two worst teams in the division currently. They have both had managerial changes and the reverse fixture could have gone either way, a highly entertaining 5-4 victory to Swansea. When anything can happen you have to back the side with the highest odds and in this case it is Swansea by some margin.

Tottenham vs Chelsea

The game of the round. It will be interesting to see how Chelsea go against this calibre of opposition away from home. Spurs and Chelsea currently occupy the top two places on the rolling season league table. The value suggests a draw, which would make sense given it is hard to pick between these two sides.
