Match Comments

Liverpool vs Swansea

One of 3 games with heavy home favourites this week and all 3 show value for the away team according to the stats. This game looks appealing on the Asian Handicap where the away team has won with a 2 goal lead in 81% of similar games.

Middlesbrough vs West Ham

This game looks well priced to us and there is little in the way of value for either team. Add this to the fact that both teams are inconsistent (look at their recent form) and no H2Hs to go on leaves us with no recommendation in terms of value.

Bournemouth vs Watford

Watford have poor away form at present but they still show value against an improving Bournemouth team. The similar stats give the away team a 33% chance of winning, the betting markets 21% and this is where the value is.

Crystal Palace vs Everton

Another game that has no real value indicators. Palace are in all sorts of trouble and you wouldn’t trust them to get anything from this game. The same can be said for Everton who have only 1 win in 6 away from home.

West Brom vs Sunderland

West Brom are an improving side but they are short here. 1.71 suggests a top team playing at home and we are not sure they quite there yet. Both sets of stats point to Sunderland at a whopping 6.10.

Stoke vs Man United

The days of Stoke as a giant killer at the Bet365 Stadium are probably less frequent but there is still some serious value for the Potters here. We rate Stoke a 40% chance of winning here and they are priced at 16% (6.40) so any bet favouring them (home win, Draw no bet, Asian Handicap) shows value here.

Man City vs Tottenham

This is without a doubt the game of the round and it will be a good test of Spur’s credentials as title winners. We chalked them up as champions at the beginning of the season and we’ll continue to back them whenever they show value, which they do in this game. Its not compelling but there is enough in the price to favour the away team here.

Southampton vs Leicester

There are no strong value indicators looking at the stats here. This is a shame given at first glance we would have had these two teams priced much more evenly. Leicesters away record has failed them and that’s why they are priced at a lofty 5.30. That looks tempting given the unpredictable nature of both teams.

Arsenal vs Burnley

One of 3 games with heavy home favourites this week and all 3 show value according to the stats. If Burnley could show some of their home form on the road, this would look like a no brainer, but the away team has not won a single match in similar encounters, 24 of them, so it’s hard to back Burnley here.

Chelsea vs Hull

One of 3 games with heavy home favourites this week and all 3 show value for the away team according to the stats. Again we can’t bring ourselves to back either team. Hull are simply not good enough and Chelsea show no value. There is some value in the unders, which also brings the AH bet (for Hull) into play, suggesting a low scoring win for Chelsea.
