Match Comments – Weekend Fixtures

West Ham vs Everton

Interestingly all the value here is on West Ham. At home paying 3.40 gives them 29% chance of winning. Our stats have the home team as a much higher 47% chance

Swansea vs Stoke

This is a similar game in terms of relative ability to the West Ham v Everton Match, but here the home team is priced much more accurately. We don’t see much value here.

Hull vs Watford

This is a good example of the betting markets pricing on form alone. Hull have an excellent home form record and Watford’s away record is poor. However, in similar games featuring one of these two teams the away team has won 35% of the time equivalent to 2.85, Watford are priced at 4.50

Bournemouth vs Middlesbrough

There’s not much to go on here given the unpredictability of the two teams and the low sample in the similar games stats. One to avoid.

Burnley vs Man United

As usual Burnley have been mispriced here given their excellent home form. Man United have failed to win in 8 of their last 19 away games and couldn’t be trusted to get the job done here. Burnley on the other hand have won 10 of their last 19 at home.

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace

There is some value backing Palace away from home here. The away team has won 26% of the 28 similar games but they priced at 14%. Interestingly Palace have played 17 similar games with none resulting in a draw.

Match Comments – Midweek Fixtures

Chelsea vs Southampton

There is a small amount of value in Southampton here and the H2H games show an even record. Chelsea could start to wobble given the gap is now only 4 points.

Arsenal vs Leicester

There is nothing of interest here, Arsenal should win but there is no value in backing them.

Middlesbrough vs Sunderland

Both teams need to win if they have any chance of survival. Sunderland are highly priced here. This is a bottom of the table clash and a derby so anything can happen.

Crystal Palace vs Tottenham

Spurs home form can be shaky and there is some value in backing Palace for a surprise win at nearly 6.00. In similar games the home team have won 24%, much higher than the 17% on offer.

Man City vs Man United

The big game of the week. Both teams have good form going into this game but there appears to be no value for the home team at evens. There is some value for Man United albeit not convincing. Based on the overall record, Man City have failed to win 9 of their 19 most recent home games whereas Man Utd have won 11 of their 19 most recent away games.
