Race 1, No.9, LEATHER’N’LACE

Ladbrokes Race Comments:

Race 6:
BRAVE SMASH winner or placed in three of past five and chasing back to back wins at Moonee Valley, well placed. KEEN ARRAY goes well at Caulfield and should race on the speed, in with a chance. BONS AWAY won three on the trot and won by a clear margin last start at Seymour, the real danger in the race. MOST IMPORTANT 5 from seven wins have been in the dry and hard to catch, will lead/box seat, place only.

Race 7:
SAMOVARE in consistent form and strong finishing effort to win last start at Moonee Valley, genuine contender. STAMPEDE is a winner of three in a row and bolted in last start at Moonee Valley, could threaten. HARLOW GOLD should race off the speed in a race with plenty of early pressure and a track specialist, in with a chance. ABBEY MARIE generally gets back and drops in weight, could upset.

Race 8:
Will be a close run run race between the top picks. RAVI has two wins in past five and chasing back to back wins at Rosehill when first up, one of the main hopes. FUHRYK won three of last seven and should race on the speed, consider. SAVANNA AMOUR was a winner last start at long odds at Caulfield and has three wins in past four, still in this. PROMPT RESPONSE resumes from a 13 week spell and winner or placed in six of past seven, looks threatening.

Race 9:
PETITION winner or placed in seven of past seven and down in weight, among the main chances. FRAGONARD won three of last seven and won last start at Moonee Valley when fresh, has solid claims. JAMAICAN RAIN keeps winning and won easily in the end last start at Morphettville, don’t treat likely. PRINCESS OF QUEENS won or placed five of last six and in the money last start running third at Caulfield, needs the breaks.

Ladbrokes Race Comments:

Race 6:
ASTORIA in decent form and strong finishing effort to win last start at Newcastle, genuine contender. SANCTIONED yet to miss the placegetters and should look to roll forward, sneaky chance. SULLY chased strongly to win last start at Bendigo and hasn’t run a bad race, place chance. THY KINGDOM COME improved last outing at Kembla Grange to break maiden and likely to race on the speed, place hope.

Race 7:
PARIAH winner or placed in five of past six and has very strong form at Rosehill, well placed. GOLD STANDARD yet to miss the placegetters and a speedy type, in with a chance. FORMALITY is a winner of two in a row and coming off a win at Randwick, still in this. TRAPEZE ARTIST has a lot of speed and will be hard to run down early, cannot be ruled out.

Race 8:
Solid pace expected in this one. OMEI SWORD likely to trail early in a fast race and suited by good track, a winning chance. DAYSEE DOOM in fairly consistent form and placed last start at Rosehill when resuming, each-way claims. SWEET REDEMPTION in fairly consistent form and genuine frontrunner, place hope. DENMAGIC faded to finish 11th last start at Rosehill and should race off the speed in a race with plenty of early pressure, needs the breaks.

Race 9:
ZUMBELINA won four of last seven and coming off a win at Rosehill when fresh, well placed. SOUCHEZ has trialled since last race and has outstanding form at this track, not without each-way claims. HOGMANAY winner or placed in four of past five and a track specialist winning three times at Rosehill, the real danger in the race. IMPAVIDO back after 25 week break and has shown potential in trials, cannot be ruled out.
