Ladbrokes Race Comments:

Race 5:
LADY ESPRIT No luck last start at Morphettville but a track specialist winning twice at Moonee Valley. Should be right at her peak. Beautifully placed. DANUKI Much improved run last start when runner-up at Cranbourne and has the speed to overcome drawing the widest barrier. Placed three times at Moonee Valley. Genuine contender. PLATEAU GOLD Unwanted by the market but right up there last start when placed at Moonee Valley at first run for new stable. Has the speed to overcome a very wide draw. Must respect. DANCE WITH FONTEIN Resumes from a 20 week spell and has trialled at Cranbourne. Twice a winner at the track and distance. Must respect.

Race 6:
FALIKA Won two on the trot at Flemington and Cranbourne. Drawn to advantage. Damien Oliver has had success aboard previously. Will take a power of beating. PYGMY Ran sixth last start at Randwick. Gets out to the right distance range peaking third-up. Commands respect. HISTORY REPEATS Hawkesbury maiden winner three back and placed both subsequent runs at Canterbury and Cranbourne. Has the speed to overcome drawing a wide barrier. At least a place chance here. SEBRING DREAM Up in trip after winning over a mile here last start second-up. Wasn?t far from the winner in the Oaks at Morphettville this distance range last preparation. Right in this.

Race 7:
CHAUTAUQUA Has been giving away too much starts in his races but continues to produce excellent closing sectionals. If he can keep in touch will take plenty of holding out. VEGA MAGIC After four straight wins had no luck when runner-up in the Everest last start. Should be right on the speed from the gate and the one to beat. HEY DOC 41-days between runs since being well beaten in the Makybe Diva last start over a mile. Freshened-up back in distance but arguably lacks the class to win a Group 1 this trip.IN HER TIME Under-rated mare who held off English to win the Premiere at Randwick two runs back before winning the Inaugural Sydney Stakes last start running comparable time to the Everest winner. Right up to this getting all the favours from an ideal gate

Race 8:
BASSETT Finished two lengths off the winner last start at Caulfield. Draws to do no work and has a solid third-up record. Probably wins MISS GUNPOWDER Finished on the placegetters heels last start at Caulfield when first up. Placed three from four second-up. Can get the job done. HELLOVA STREET Placed when unwanted in the betting last start at Caulfield when first up. Generally strong second-up and has a solid record this trip. Should fight out the finish. DEMONSTRATE Less than two-lengths from the winner last start at Moonee Valley when resuming. Drops significantly in weight and generally improves second-up. A winning chance.

Sportsbet – Race Comments:

Race 5:
Tempo is predicted to be true as usual. LADY ESPRIT went ok in Adelaide last start, did have to be steadied at the 100m. Back to the track she loves, and she has run solidly over this 955m previously. Zahra on board is a big tick also. APPALACHIAN ANNIE is having her first run for the new stable. Very honest career to date that can be continued here. Has also run well over this track/trip previously. ESSENCE OF TERROR is 1st up. Fresh last campaign he did win before progressing to a stronger class of racing. MILE HIGH next best.
Selections 3, 10, 11

Race 6:
Tempo is predicted to be true. FALIKA did well to win again in the Pinker Pinker Stakes last start. Knuckled badly upon jumping but Oliver was very clever once turning. That strong level can be held again here, and she can swamp them. SMART AS YOU THINK ran another good effort without winning behind Falika last start. 1/17 winning record is frustrating but at least she is very consistent, you know what you’re going to get. SEBRING DREAM advanced nearly 4L to win here last start when well ridden. Likely to rate down on that performance, but with the good map she can still go ok. HISTORY REPEATS next best.
Selections 4, 6, 5, 10

Race 7:
Tempo is predicted to be true. Compelling edition. VEGA MAGIC was ridden in the wrong part of the track in the Everest, and the gelding showed his excellent toughness to run second. Two victories prior were elite performances. Achieved a new personal best 4th up when back in Perth. Good map also makes him hard to catch. IN HER TIME was good to win again last start. Effort prior rated superior when beating home English. Just like her whole career, her 3rd up pattern is strong. CHAUTAUQUA was super in the Everest, went through the line very well. Racing pattern is always a concern. ENGLISH next.
Selections 2, 9, 1, 8

Race 8:
Tempo is predicted to be very genuine. Tricky race to finish. BASSETT improved a length last start when running well at Caulfield. 3rd up last campaign he was able to sustain his 2nd up level to win a stakes race at Mornington. If he can do that again here, he can go close. MISS GUNPOWDER went nicely 1st up in a tight finish. Has a very tidy career to date. Her 2nd up pattern is a bit inconsistent but she has the capability to swoop down the outside in her first attempt here. SUSPENSE went well here last start. Expect will roll forward again which only benefits his chances. DEMONSTRATE next.
Selections 2, 3, 12, 6
