Unibet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 7:
BRUTAL (5) Won easily last time at Caulfield and having second race start today. Looks the one here. MARCEL FROM MADRID (1) Resuming from a spell. Won well last time at Morphettville. Should give a sight. OCEAN KNIGHT (4) Bold effort to win two runs back at Caulfield and gets some weight relief. Has a nice turn of foot. Some claims. LEONARDO DA HINCHI (6) Unbeaten this preparation with 2 wins from 2 starts but rising in grade. Brave effort to win last time at Sandown. Looks a great place bet.
Selections: 5 Brutal, 1 Marcel From Madrid, 4 Ocean Knight, 6 Leonardo Da Hinchi

Race 8:
HEY DOC (1) Really dug deep when winning two runs back here and should race on the speed. Has a good record first up. Expected to fight out the finish. FAATINAH (5) Finished 2nd two runs back at Meydan and looks well suited here. Races well fresh winning 3 from 5 runs. Can give this a shake. QUILISTA (3) Good win two runs back at Randwick and will find this grade easier. Worth a ticket here. DOTHRAKI (2) Racing fresh today after a break of 18 weeks. Ran well when 3rd last start at Randwick and displays good tactical speed. Don’t dismiss.
Selections: 1 Hey Doc, 5 Faatinah, 3 Quilista, 2 Dothraki

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 7:
SPEED: 5, 9, 10 go forward but others can be handy. BRUTAL was outstanding on debut thrashing Humma Humma, who just missed Sunlight last week. The clock backed him up: went quick early yet still ran home 8-9L above class average last 600m. His recent jumpout win was the fastest of morning at Flem. MARCEL FROM MADRID is a smart 3YO also. Loved his win in Adelaide. Recent jumpout OK. OCEAN KNIGHT looked terrific in his recent jumpout. LEONARDO DA HINCHI was wide and beat one coming off high-rating maiden win Hillside. JIMENEZ wants 1200m. RINGERDINGDING’s fresh run better than it looks on paper
Selections: 5. Brutal, 1. Marcel From Madrid, 4. Ocean Knight

Race 8:
SPEED: 11 can lead any race in this country. 4, 12 plus 3, 7, 9 up there. 1, 2, 5 handy? Terrific race but the 1000m makes it tricky to assess. Is it too sharp for HEY DOC, FAATINAH and/or MR SNEAKY? Hey Doc is unbeaten here and a multiple G1 winner. Won Aurie’s Star fresh last prep. Faatinah has won four times fresh and looked sharp in recent jumpout. Mr Sneaky ran home hard for 1.2L 2nd to Thronum at WFA here fresh last prep but that was 1200m. SUPER TOO has amazing speed. Her recent trial win was brilliant. She beat Faatinah when they clashed last spring at 1000m. QUILISTA & BANDIPUR hopes.
Selections: 5. Faatinah, 11. Super Too, 8. Mr Sneaky, 1. Hey Doc (4)

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 7:
BRUTAL strong in winning at only start at Caulfield and drops in weight, perfectly placed. MARCEL FROM MADRID resumes after a spell of 14 weeks and won at Benalla in first outing, place best. LEONARDO DA HINCHI has won both races so far and down in weight, place claims. TAVISAN led all the way to win last start to break maiden at Cranbourne when first up and will appreciate the cut in the ground, needs the breaks.

Race 8:
Can’t imagine one of the top two not winning. QUILISTA resumes after a 16 week spell. Placed at Moonee Valley when last fresh and won two of five first-up, genuine contender. BANDIPUR can’t knock the form winning two in a row at Flemington and Randwick, expect to be right up there. HEY DOC back after 27 week break and goes well at Moonee Valley, in with a chance. SUPER TOO first-up after 22 week break and looks ready to go on recent trial performances, still in this.

Neds – Suggested Runners:

Race 6: 1 Outrageous, 3 Danawi, 9 Signore Fox
Race 7: 3 Emperor’s Way, 9 Avilius, 13 I Am Serious, 15 Dagny

Unibet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 5:
PERFORMER (1) Will be trying to topple them late. Tailed off when 14th last run at this course but back from a spell of 22 weeks. Ready to win. PLAGUE STONE (5) Fought on well to win two runs back at Randwick and is fitter third up. Has won 1 from 2 attempts this preparation. No shock to see a win. NEUTRALITY (8) Solid effort when winning two runs back at this track and likely to be well placed early. Among better hopes. GRAFF (6) Won narrowly last time at Hawkesbury and gets a favourable gate. Resuming after a break. Has each way claims.
Selections: 1 Performer, 5 Plague Stone, 8 Neutrality, 6 Graff

Race 6:
DANAWI (3) Has plenty of early speed. Couldn’t keep the pace going when 2nd last run at Randwick but having third run back from a spell. Must be considered. ARAMAYO (5) Nice effort when winning last run at Canterbury and gets some weight taken off today. Should be very competitive and is a genuine threat. OUTRAGEOUS (1) Expected to be flashing home. Average effort when beaten 1.9L at this track last start but nearing peak fitness. Warrants a bet. TOULOUSE (2) Third up from a break. Winner two runs back at this course but up in grade. Watch market moves closely.
Selections: 3 Danawi, 5 Aramayo, 1 Outrageous, 2 Toulouse

Race 7:
AVILIUS (9) Strips fitter today. Game effort to win last start at Randwick and gets some weight relief. This race looks suitable and is hard to overlook here. EMPEROR’S WAY (3) Flashed home late into 2nd last run here and goes down in weight. Might take a while to wind up but should be hitting top gear in the straight. Can’t be left out. I AM SERIOUS (13) Solid effort when winning two runs back at Randwick but prefers to settle towards the rear. Generally strong second up with 2 from 3 starts. Place chance. BLACK ON GOLD (10) Brave effort to win last time at this venue but up in class. Races well fresh winning 2 from 5 starts. Races well in these conditions so do not discard.
Selections: 9 Avilius, 3 Emperor’s Way, 13 I Am Serious, 10 Black On Gold

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 5:
3 and 8 look speediest. I’m prepared to stick with PLAGUE STONE with a couple of runs now under his belt and I don;t see him posted wide this time. Hard to label him too disappointing last time given the run he had. Fitness peaking now and all but one of his opposition is off a break. Does he fancy wet? PERFORMER has won both fresh runs and a recent trial was positive. Maybe he could get posted this time? JONKER can use his draw to scoot up. Trialled with GRAFF and they finished together but GRAFF looked a bit harder at it. Including RINGERDINGDING with blinkers added.
Selections: 5. Plague Stone, 1. Performer, 3. Jonker, 9. Ringerdingding

Race 6:
Maiden DANAWI can lead this one and if he handles a seven day turnaround and a softer surface looks hard to beat. Obviously those two factors provide some query though. ARAMAYO won as easily as expected last time but is now reverting from that 1550m contest and is unknown away from dry too. TOULOUSE comes to it 8 weeks between runs (and no public trial) but has won his latest two at this track and trip and on Soft going. MAID OF HEAVEN may have to be giving too great a start but you have to like the way she has run through the line in both starts. Clark would be happy to stick with her I would think.
Selections: 3. Danawi, 5. Aramayo, 2. Toulouse

Race 7:
10, 13 and 15 all accepted for the Rowley Mile at Hawkesbury on Thursday as well. AVILIUS probably doesn’t need to improve on what he showed first-up to win again. His late sectionals were amazing and he could barely have made a greater impression. Conditions are likely to be different here but with 53 on the back he’d have to really turn his nose up at Soft to be doubted. Can see him starting short! I AM SERIOUS should be respected if here and I would promote FIRST CRUSH if the rain falls hard and we’re on – say – Soft 7 or worse.
Selections: 9. Avilius, 13. I Am Serious, 15. Dagny, 3. Emperor’s Way (7)

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 5:
PERFORMER first-up after 22 week break and won one of two trials, a winning chance. PLAGUE STONE a winner at first outing this prep and was narrowly beaten as a favourite last start at Rosehill, could threaten. GRAFF first-up after 17 week spell and has won both races so far, don’t treat lightly. NEUTRALITY back after 26 week break and has won at Rosehill before, still in this.

Race 6:
Not a lot between the top three in this. OUTRAGEOUS won at Newcastle in only second-up attempt but ran seventh last start at Rosehill when resuming, should go well. MAID OF HEAVEN chased strongly to win last start to break maiden at Canterbury and rates highly with Tim Clark aboard, right in this. DANAWI yet to miss the placegetters in three runs and has good early speed, hard to hold out. SIGNORE FOX coming off a win to break maiden at Hawkesbury when fresh and down in weight, in with a chance.

Race 7:
Hard to see anything upsetting the top two choices. I AM SERIOUS ran on strong to finish on the winner’s heels last start at Rosehill when resuming and up in journey, one of the main hopes. AVILIUS and came on strong to win last start at Randwick when fresh and known to be strong late, consider. DAGNY has outstanding form at this track and goes down in weight, dangerous. EMPEROR’S WAY only just missed last start, finishing a neck back from the winner at Rosehill and drops 3.5kg from last run, quinella.

Sunshine Coast

BetEasy – The Wolf:

Race 6, No.6 Bergerac – 4 stars
Race 8, No.4 Landmarks – each-way – 4 stars
