Unibet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 4:
WIDGEE TURF (1) Flew home into 2nd last start at Moonee Valley and can go through the gears. Will go well here. DREAMFORCE (4) Having third run back from a spell. Won narrowly three runs back at Rosehill and easy to come into at the distance. Major claims. DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR (3) Likely to be well placed early. Set a strong tempo when 2nd two runs back at Caulfield and is dropping in grade. Suited here. MR SNEAKY (7) Expected to be flashing home. Looked flat when beaten by just over 6L at Caulfield last run. A win wouldn’t surprise.
Selections: 1 Widgee Turf, 4 Dreamforce, 3 Dollar For Dollar, 7 Mr Sneaky

Race 5:
JAAMEH (7) Backs up quickly today. Finished on top three runs back here. Among the major players. GALLIC CHIEFTAIN (2) Will be motoring home late. Made up ground when 4th last run around here and racing again inside a week. Winning hope. MIDTERM (11) Inched into 4th last start at Geelong. Contender in this event. LIBRAN (1) Did its best work late when 3rd last start at Moonee Valley and drops back to a suitable class. Will be trying to topple them late. In the mix.
Selections: 7 Jaameh, 2 Gallic Chieftain, 11 Midterm, 1 Libran

Race 6:
TEMPLE OF BEL (11) Should get going late. Came in 7th last start at the track but on a quick back up. Winning chance in this line up. SAVVY COUP (2) Winner two runs back at Hastings and is down in grade. Will be motoring home late. One to watch and an each way chance. SHEEZDASHING (8) Rattled home nicely into 3rd three runs back around here. Will be hitting the line strongly. Good prospect for the exotics at least. AQUA D’IVINA (12) Got the upper hand late when winning last start at Randwick but up in grade. Has claims
Selections: 11 Temple of Bel, 2 Savvy Coup, 8 Sheezdashing, 12 Aqua D’Ivina

Race 7:
REDZEL (1) Flying this preparation and looks well suited here. Rates well on top. PIERATA (6) Races well at this trip with 4 wins from 6 starts. Looks good value here. KEMENTARI (7) Rattled home nicely into 3rd last run at Moonee Valley. Can be played on an each-way basis. REDKIRK WARRIOR (4) Goes well when fresh and has won over at this track and trip before. One at a bit of odds.
Selections: 1 Redzel, 6 Pierata, 7 Kementari, 4 Redkirk Warrior

Race 8:
BLAIR HOUSE (3) Tough effort when just missing in the Caulfield Stakes. Fitter now and looks hard to stop today. LATROBE (7) Classy import who finds himself in a suitable race first-up. Can have an impact if fit enough. SHILLELAGH (8) Brilliant effort taking out the Empire Rose. Can make it two wins in a week. EXTRA BRUT (9) Drops back to 2000m today but also gets relief at the weights. This is not out of reach.
Selections: 3 Blair House, 7 Latrobe, 8 Shillelagh, 9 Extra Brut

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 4:
SPEED: 2,3,9 all like to lead, 4 can be right there too. 15 takes trail? WIDGEE TURF gave weight to Iconoclasm last time and chased hard, that horse then ran quite well in G1 Cantala Stks here. DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR led until the line in Rupert Clarke and beat home Land Of Plenty before fading in Toorak, back to 1400m here! DREAMFORCE had no peace at Caulfield and ran enormous. Like him at 1400m. MR SNEAKY didn’t fire in that same race but track was leader-biased, and Soft. He gets another go. Expect better PERAST. 11,15,16,7 chances also.
Selections: 4. Dreamforce, 3. Dollar For Dollar, 1. Widgee Turf, 7. Mr Sneaky

Race 5:
SPEED: 11,13 & 9 with 7,4 handy? JAAMEH and GALLIC CHIEFTAIN both ran well behind Melbourne Cup placed A Prince Of Arran last week, for mine, Jaameh was a bit stronger through the line and they have to go an extra 100m today. LORD FANDANGO ran on hard against pattern of the day at Bendigo and can turn the tables on RED ALTO, third-horse there Sir Charles Road ran 7th in Melb Cup Tuesday. MIDTERM was close-up at Geelong despite racing tight. MISS ADMIRATION ran on well Vs pattern in MV Cup as did LIBRAN.
Selections: 3. Lord Fandango, 7. Jaameh, 2. Gallic Chieftain, 11. Midterm

Race 6:
SPEED: 15,13 with 2,6,12 capable of being handy. TEMPLE OF BEL rattled home a tick over 45-seconds her last 800m in Empire Rose last Saturday and ran by ALOISIA whom she now meets 6kg better, to 2000m looks ideal. SHEEZDASHING was wide/ good in Cranbourne Cup, she arguably should have beaten 6th-placed Melb Cup mare Youngstar when they clashed in Qld Oaks. Forgive SAVVY COUP miss in Cox Plate, this suits better! AQUA D’IVINA (good closing splits on the day Randwick) and OUR LIBRETTO (Pleasuring form ties in) are highly promising!
Selections: 11. Temple Of Bel, 8. Sheezdashing, 14. Our Libretto, 2. Savvy Coup

Race 7:
Great race! REDZEL won this last year in fast time. He was advantaged by heavy ground in the Everest but did beat key rivals BRAVE SMASH (then won G1), SANTA ANA LANE (was coming off track-record win) and IN HER TIME (just beaten in that same track-record race). REDKIRK WARRIOR beat Redzel here fresh last prep at 1000m. Brave Smash beat SPIRIT OF VALOR (wide/great) and KEMENTARI (back/wide against bias/excellent) in the Manikato. PIERATA beat Kementari when they clashed at 1200m. In short, it’s tough!
Selections: 3. Santa Ana Lane, 6. Pierata, 7. Kementari, 12. In Her Time

Race 8:
SPEED: 4 leads 2,3,5,7 can all be handy. BLAIR HOUSE just missed Benbatl in Caulfield Stks and beat the others easily, Benbatl then fought hard in Cox Plate behind Winx and beat the rest easily! SHILLELAGH was impressive last week, she has never raced at 2000m but it shapes as no issue. TRAP FOR FOOLS gave a great sight in Turnbull and then in MV Cup. LATROBE is the left-fielder, he has beaten Kew Gardens, that horse has been on the heels of Melb Cup winner Cross Counter. EXTRA BRUT creates interest.
Selctions: 3. Blair House, 7. Latrobe, 8. Shillelagh, 4. Trap For Fools

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 4:
WIDGEE TURF Is racing well with a Moonee Valley win earlier in the preparation and placings in his four runs since including a length second at Moonee Valley last start. Has a solid record this track and distance and is as good a chance as any in an open race. DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR Was outclassed in the Group I Toorak Handicap up to the mile last start after finishing a photo-finish in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes over 1400m two back. He’s a genuine winning chance back in distance. MR SNEAKY Seemingly struggled on the soft track at Caulfield last start however his previous form was good enough for a race like this and can bounce back on a drier surface. DREAMFORCE Improved at his second run back from a spell finishing runner-up in the Moonga Stakes over 1400m at Caulfield last start and is ready to win peaking third-up.

Race 5:
GALLIC CHIEFTAIN Backs up after finishing fourth two and a half lengths from the winner in the Lexus last Saturday and the winner added merit to the form by running third in the big one on Tuesday. He’s ready to win getting a soft run in transit from the inside gate. SULLY Raced on the speed and battled on well when a two and a half-length fifth in the Moonee Valley Cup last start after a close second in the Cranbourne Cup two back. He should be right at his peak after four runs back from a break and is right in play. MIDTERM Has been close-up last three starts including a length and a half fifth in the Metropolitan two back before finishing on the placegetters heels in the Geelong Cup last start. This looks his chance to record his first Australian win. LORD FANDANGO Was only a length from the winner in the Bendigo Cup last start and is worth including in the wider exotics getting a soft run in transit from an ideal gate.

Race 6:
AQUA D’IVINA Is a promising mare with four wins and three seconds from her seven starts to date and is chasing a hat trick after successive wins at Warwick Farm and Randwick at last two. This is her toughest test to date but she looks right up to the task. ECKSTEIN Has been racing well winning the Paris Lane at Flemington three runs back and was only two and a half lengths from the winner in the Empire Rose at Flemington last Saturday. Only has to run out 2000m for the first time to be in the finish. KENEDNA Is racing like she needs the step up to 2000m after doing her best work late in the Empire Rose. She’s a definite include in the wider exotics getting a soft run in transit from an ideal barrier. ALOISIA Worked home solidly when third in the Tristarc at Caulfield two back before again finishing her race off nicely in the Empire Rose last week. The step up to 2000m gives her the chance to return to the winner’s list.

Race 7:
REDZEL Controlled the speed and was too good leading all the way in the Everest last start. Hasn’t raced for 28-days but has been kept up to the mark with a Randwick trial win and although he is unlikely to get as easy a run in front is still the one to beat. BRAVE SMASH Charged home late to win the Manikato at Moonee Valley last start after finishing down the track in the Everest on the heavy nine track. Finished a close second in the Newmarket at his only start up the straight and he will be hitting the line hard. INVINCIBLE STAR Led and fought on strongly when length fifth in the Manikato last start. Will be right on speed and can hang on for a place. PIERATA Struggled at 1600m in the Epsom two runs back before overcoming a wide run in transit winning the Sydney Stakes at Randwick last start. Has been kept up to the mark with a Randwick trial since the last win and is right in the mix.

Race 8:
BLAIR HOUSE Was a group I winner at Dubai earlier in the year and his two Australian runs have been good including a photo finish second in the Caulfield Stakes last start. That looks the form reference for this and is the one to beat. EXTRA BRUT Was too strong at the end of 2500m winning the Derby last Saturday. Gets in with 51kg under the WFA scale and no surprise to see him in the finish. IT’S SOMEWHAT Hasn’t been able to win in five starts this preparation but continues to race well including a fifth in the Crystal Mile at Moonee Valley last start. Looks suited back to 2000m and did run third in this race last year. SHILLELAGH Charged home late inside runners to win the Empire Rose at Flemington last Saturday. Running out a strong 2000m t this level for the first time looks the query but still has place prospects.
