BetEasy – Race Synopsis:

Race 6:
VOW AND DECLARE (9) chased hard when runner up in the Queensland Derby last start. Taking on more seasoned stayers but his last effort suggested he will run this out. Comes in well at the weights. Winning chance. MISS ADMIRATION (5) settled last but kept coming for sixth in the Brisbane Cup. She should relish this distance and will be at her peak fourth up. Each way chance. BIG DUKE (1) carries a big weight but he was good when third in the Brisbane Cup and has good results at the longer journeys. Could be ready to strike. OUR LIBRETTO (6) and SIN TO WIN (7) are others that worked home well in the Brisbane Cup and both are worth including in exotics.

Race 8:
SAVATIANO (10) impressed when charging away to win a Group 3 last start, her first visit to this course. Has had four weeks off but has been kept up to the mark with a trial win. Yet to miss a place at this distance. Big chance with even luck. INVINCIBELLA (1) is a bonny mare who was just too tough when winning the Group 2 Dane Ripper last start. Proven here and has a good record at the distance. Sure to give a sight. POHUTUKAWA (18) worked home well to place in the Queensland Guineas. Back in trip but a high pressure race should suit. Look for her late. SPRIGHT (3) is another with a booming finishing. Excellent fourth in the Stradbroke after a Group 1 win and placing in Adelaide. Must respect. MULTAJA (17) may be looking for 1400m now after finishing hard to win last start. NOIRE (11) caught the eye running on last time. Could add some value to exotics.

Race 9:
BRAVE SONG (3) is busting to win a race after hitting the line well for good seconds in all three starts this time in. Chased hard but missed by a nose in the Group 2 Moreton Cup last start after chasing home subsequent Stradbroke winner Trekking at his previous two. This suits and gets his chance. VICTOREM (2) charged home from near last to win the Listed Hinkler Handicap at this course and distance last start. A repeat of that effort sees him hard to hold out. The speedy QUILISTA (5) continues to race well with a win and two seconds from her past three starts, all in stakes races. Suited back to 1200m and sure to give a sight. TACTICAL ADVANTAGE (1) ran on behind Victorem last start and was only 1.7L away in a Group 1 before that. Could be ready to peak. ISAURIAN (9) deserves respect off his fighting first up win and has won a trial since.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 6:
No less than 3000m for the stayers to cover here where nos.7, 9 & 10 appear the most likely to push on however wouldn’t be surprised to see a few others also going forward. Using the Brisbane Cup as our form reference here. BIG DUKE is surely the superior stayer here, placed in a Sydney Cup, clocked in 4th behind Rekindling in the 2017 Melbourne Cup & although probably not going as well as he was back then his steady closing 3rd Cup a fortnight back should be good enough to win this. SIN TO WIN the danger, carries 6kg less & will lap up the trip. MISS ADMIRATION also made good ground.
Selections: 1. Big Duke, 7. Sin To Win, 5. Miss Admiration, 4. Sampson

Race 8:
We arrive at the Group 1, some wide gates amongst the well fancied runners will shuffle the market around I’d suggest however keep in mind this is a very fair starting point. 2, 6, 15 & 10 can all push on as will others suggesting the tempo will at least be genuine. I hope they go like scalded cats up front as the top tip ECKSTEIN will give a start from the wide draw. Really liked her effort in Moreton 4 weeks ago when unsuited in the run, since freshened & looked very good winning a recent trial. POHUTUKAWA simply is unlucky, no room two back, poleaxed last time, is today her day?
Selections: 7. Eckstein, 18. Pohutukawa, 17. Multaja, 11. Noire

Race 9:
Cracking race is the Healy each year & this one is no different. Pace looks good which is going to play into the hands of BRAVE SONG who will just need some daylight from his inside gate to get home over the leaders. Could not have been any more impressive (apart from winning) when motoring home in the Moreton Cup to just fail, the race wasn’t run to suit at all & his closing sectional was simply outstanding (10.61). VICTOREM was also outstanding winning here on Stradbroke day coming from a hopeless position to weave his way through & score running away! TACTICAL ADVANTAGE in the mix.
Selections: 3. Brave Song, 2. Victorem, 1. Tactical Advantage, 7. Amanaat

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 6:
VOW AND DECLARE (9) Kept finding the line when 2nd last run at the track and goes down in weight. Will be motoring home late. Will give a big sight. BIG DUKE (1) Charged home into 3rd last run here and always seems to find the line well. Yet to fire this preparation with no wins from 9 runs. Right in this. OUR LIBRETTO (6) Crept into 5th last run at this course and can save some energy from the alley. Will be trying to topple them late. Open to improvement and is a strong chance again. SIN TO WIN (7) Ran on strongly when 2nd three runs back at Flemington and finishes off strongly. Could go well

Race 8:
SAVATIANO (10) Ultra impressive when taking out th Moreton Stakes. Capable of repeating the dose. POHUTUKAWA (18) Arguably should have won the Queensland Guineas last start. Can make up for it here. MULTAJA (17) Made up plenty of ground when winning the Coughlan Stakes at Doomben. Winning claims. INVINCIBELLA (1) Classy mare who looks well up to this. Each way.

Race 9:
BRAVE SONG (3) Managed to run into 2nd last start at Doomben and has the ideal draw. Has a great burst of speed late. Hard to dismiss. VICTOREM (2) Won last run at the track and strong performer at this distance. Will be hitting the line strongly. Suitably placed in this race. TACTICAL ADVANTAGE (1) Showed a good turn of foot when 2nd three runs back at Hawkesbury. Always seems to find the line well. Watch market moves. ISAURIAN (9) Second up from a spell. Fought on gamely when winning last run at Doomben. Could be value.
