Manchester United vs. Crystal Palace

Back Man Utd in the head-to-head at 1.38 (Betfair) – BEST BET
Back Man Utd to win to nil at 2.20 (bet365, TopBetta)

This is more a bet against Crystal Palace, who have only made six shots on target and who haven’t scored a goal so far this season. They were well contained by Sheffield United last week and didn’t appear to have a plan B when Wilfried Zaha was restricted for opportunities. Palace are notorious for being slow starters in EPL campaigns. They have won only one of their past 11 Premier League matches in August and they failed to score in eight of those games. Crystal Palace have gone 0-1-5 at Old Trafford since promotion and they failed to score a goal in any of those six games.

Back under 2.5 goals at 2.12 (Unibet)

Five of the last six meetings between the two at Old Trafford went under 2.5 goals.

Brighton vs. Southampton

Back Brighton +0.5 at 1.42 (bet365)

Brighton have made a brighter start to the campaign than Southampton. Brighton beat Watford 3-0 in week 1 and looked full of confidence in their 1-1 draw with West Ham last week. Southampton, meanwhile, lost 0-3 to Burnley and 1-2 at home to a travel-weary Liverpool. Southampton are winless in their last seven EPL fixtures spanning this season and the last. Brighton have drawn Southampton three times in four games since promotion, which is why I have opted to back them in the Asian handicap rather than the head-to-head.

Back under 2.5 goals at 1.75 (TopBetta)

Brighton haven’t scored more than once in any of their past 13 home league games, managing just eight goals in total. Since promotion both home fixtures against Southampton went under 2.5 goals.

Watford vs. West Ham

Back West Ham +0.5 at 1.72 (bet365)

This is more a bet against Watford who have won just one of their last eight EPL matches and have yet to score this season. Spanning this season and the last Watford have lost their last five league fixtures. One of those games was at home against West Ham, which the Hammers won 4-1. Watford are winless in their last five EPL home games.

Liverpool vs. Arsenal

Back Liverpool in the head-to-head at 1.53 (Sportsbet)

Arsenal have made a 2-0-0 start to the campaign but their defence has looked suspect at times, particularly last week when they conceded 18 shots at goal against Burnley. Liverpool enter this clash on an 8-game winning streak and they have gone 17-1-0 as the home favourite over the last 12 months. Liverpool have won their last three home fixtures against Arsenal by a combined 12 goals to 2.

Back Liverpool -1.5 at 2.26 (BetEasy)

Liverpool’s last four home wins against Arsenal were by 2+ goal margins. Over the last 12 months 13 of Liverpool’s 17 home wins were by 2+ goal margins.

Back over 2.5 goals at 1.44 (bet365) – BEST BET

With Adrian currently in goal for Liverpool, the Reds have looked a bit suspect in defence, while Arsenal haven’t looked convincing defensively this season. The last six games between the two at Anfield went over 2.5 goals.

Bournemouth vs. Manchester City

Back Man City in the head-to-head at 1.24 (Betfair)

Bournemouth currently have half a dozen players on the injury list. They have picked up 4 points from their opening fixtures, but they were against the newly promoted Sheffield United and Aston Villa. Bournemouth have gone 0-0-8 against Man City since promotion. The Cherries managed just one goal in their four home fixtures against City, whilst conceding nine. Man City enter this clash having won their last eight away fixtures.

Tottenham vs. Newcastle

Back Tottenham in the head-to-head at 1.25 (Unibet)

Tottenham have won their last four league fixtures against Newcastle and the visitors bring poor form into this clash. Newcastle lost 3-1 against Norwich last week, with their consolation goal coming deep into stoppage time.
