BetEasy – Race Synopsis:

Race 5:
SHOTMAKER (7) is an interesting runner resuming. Ran really well here on debut when well fancied in Group 3 company and then raced wide and looked to come to the end of it when well held in the Blue Diamond. Given time, has trialled nicely, and looks aggressively placed by a smart yard playing at home. Bit to like. SEBRAKATE (2) ran well to finish second to a hot winner in the Vain. Goes forward and runs well again. DUBIOUS (1) was plain there but gets the blinkers now and we know he can do better. SUPER SETH (4) will get over further but he is a nice talent and must be considered. Stablemate KING OF HASTINGS (3) can run well off a short break.

Race 6:
VEGA MAGIC (4) resumes. Just had one start in the autumn and had little hope pitched in against the best there. Big fresh winner around here at the start of last spring and his best form makes him a stand out. Jumped out really nicely which suggests he could be back in business. GYTRASH (3) was improving nicely throughout the winter and can measure up to this level over the spring. BALL OF MUSCLE (1) won this last year. Flies around here and always hard to peg back. Trial said he was in for another good campaign. MALAGUERRA (5) and BANDIPUR (6) are the others to consider.

Race 7:
SYLVIA’S MOTHER (11) powered through the line winning at Flemington last time and that form has been working out really well. Plenty of winners through what is clearly a potent race and she was the all honours winner. She can win again. PIPPIE (13) will give her plenty to run down though. Slick through the middle stages here last time and won with a leg in the air. Just has to stretch that to 1200m now. AMPHITRITE (1) is a class mare who won well fresh last time around and should be powering home along with FIDELIA (9) who strung high rating wins together over the off season. SPANISH WHISPER (2) should race well first up.

Race 8:
SCALES OF JUSTICE (5) was turned over at short odds in Adelaide last time but the winner there is very promising and he may have raced a touch flat off the big first up win around here in the Bletchingly. That win was terrific and gives him a great look here. Think the race sets up well for him. ALIZEE (11) got the job done first up in Sydney and won the Futurity around here back in the autumn. Star mare with obvious claims. CLIFF’S EDGE (6) forced a good one to work to run him down in the Lawrence and has to be a hope off that formline along with the old-timer HARTNELL (1). BEGOOD TOYA MOTHER (9) is right up in class but he’s rapidly improving and must be respected.

BetEasy – The King’s Tips:

Race 5:
1. Dubious (5 stars)
2. Sebrakate (4 stars)
3. King Of Hastings (2 stars)
4. Super Seth (2 stars)

2. Streets Of Avalon (2 stars)
4. Vega Magic (2 stars)

7. Miss Iano (3 stars)
13. Pippie (3 stars)
5. Embrace Me (3 stars)

Race 8:
9. Begood Toya Mother (5 stars)
1. Hartnell (4 stars)
7. Despatch (3 stars)
5. Scales Of Justice (2 stars)

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 5:
SUPER SETH resumes. He showed serious ability in his first prep and hit the line nicely in latest jumpout. SEBRAKATE led and slipped away here fresh before copping windburn from Bivouac. Sebrakate beat all the others and on times would have beaten all the fillies that day also. KING OF HASTINGS looked to go better than SHOTMAKER in a trial. MISSILE MANTRA was sound in a jumpout. PEIDRA’s two wins have looked good and the Condo’s Express form reads well now. Blinkers go back on DUBIOUS.
Selections: 4. Super Seth, 2. Sebrakate, 3. King Of Hastings, 5. Peidra

Race 6:
VEGA MAGIC has jumped out very well for the return. He was quickly spelled after one wet track fail in April. He won in fast time here fresh prior on dry thrashing subsequent G1 winner Voodoo Lad. BALL OF MUSCLE has won his last two fresh runs, in the latest he held off Redzel, the win prior was in this race last year beating, wait for it, Voodoo Lad, in fast time. GYTRASH never runs poorly and all fresh form is good, he was G2 competitive last prep. MALAGUERRA is a G1 winner with 5 x fresh wins. New stable today. CRYSTAL DREAMER jumped out well.
Selections: 4. Vega Magic, 1. Ball Of Muscle, 5. Malaguerra, 3. Gytrash

Race 7:
PIPPIE looks the only leader here. She didn’t crawl here last time (led +6.7L Vs ave) yet kept running and recorded a slick overall time despite being barely ridden. SYLVIA’S MOTHER impressed at Flemington. Her overall figures were very good also. She is well weighted against Pippie this scale. AMPHITRITE and SPANISH WHISPER are class act, maybe Spanish Whisper slightly better suited at 1200m, she’s jumped out well. EMBRACE ME was good late fresh. 1200m suits her better. She beat Spanish Whisper in G3 last prep. MISS IANO is flying. JORDA improves drier? FIDELIA is smart. ZIZZIS best blowout?
Selections: 13. Pippie, 11. Sylvia’s Mother, 2. Spanish Whisper, 5. Embrace Me

Race 8:
SPEED: 6, 9 from 5, 13 with 1, 2, 7 capable of being handy. ALIZEE was too classy fresh in Sydney. She won very well second up last prep then sat wide here in G1 Futurity and beat HARTNELL and co. SCALES OF JUSTICE is the danger, brilliant return win then wide on strong speed in Adelaide and beat all bar a promising 3YO in fast time. He maps nicely, Alizee draws awkwardly. FUNDAMENTALIST chased home BEGOOD TOYA MOTHER and meets him 7.5kg better at WFA. HARTNELL is in the mix as always. OOHOOD to 1400m and CLIFF’S EDGE chances. SESAR acts like he wants 1400m now.
Selections: 11. Alizee, 5. Scales Of Justice, 9. Begood Toya Mother, 13. Fundamentalist

3. Amphitrite (4 stars)

Race 8:
1. Scales Of Justice (5 stars)
2. Alizee (5 stars)
3. Cliff’s Edge (5 stars)

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 5:
SUPER SETH (4) Racing fresh today after a break. Nice effort when winning two runs back at this track but up in grade. Goes very close. KING OF HASTINGS (3) Scored a victory last start around here but back from a break. Ben Melham and Anthony Freedman rate highly together. Should take beating. MISSILE MANTRA (9) First up. Solid win last start here but facing a stronger class. Worth a ticket here. PEIDRA (5) Left nothing to chance when winning last run at Sandown but racing in stronger company here. Going well this preparation winning 2 from as many attempts. Has claims.

Race 6:
VEGA MAGIC (4) Racing fresh today after a break. Very tidy at the track with 3 wins from 4 starts and dropping in grade. Bet with confidence. BALL OF MUSCLE (1) Fought on gamely when winning two runs back at Randwick and shows good early pace. Can have an impact. GYTRASH (3) Should be ready to fire fresh with 2 wins from 3 runs. Handy enough when winning last time at Flemington but facing a stronger class. Should take beating. MALAGUERRA (5) Races well fresh. Showed a good turn of foot when 2nd two runs back here and will be well suited at the trip. Exotics chance.

Race 7:
PIPPIE (13) Strong form this campaign winning 2 from as many starts and won’t be far away during the run. Had a comfortable win last time around here. Go well here. SYLVIA’S MOTHER (11) Displayed potential when winning last time at Flemington and should get going late. Going well this campaign. Serious contender. SPANISH WHISPER (2) Got the upper hand late when winning three runs back at Flemington but resuming. Should be swooping on the field late. Use betting as a guide. AMPHITRITE (1) Ran on strongly when 3rd three runs back at Flemington and finishes off strongly. Strong each way bet.

Race 8:
ALIZEE (11) Class runner in the field who looks set for a big campaign. Rates on top. BEGOOD TOYA MOTHER (9) Has been going through his grades in impressive fashion. Can take the next step. SCALES OF JUSTICE (5) Has returned well this time in and should be at his best here. Each way the play. HARTNELL (1) Put in a great first-up performance behind Mystic Journey. Looks more than capable.

Race 7: Maddi Rocks and Subedar

BetEasy – Race Synopsis:

Race 5:
BIVOUAC (3) returned in a big way last start when making light work of his rivals in the Vain Stakes. Was visually very impressive and the clock certainly backed up the strength of his performance. Handles all tracks and sets a decent marker to run at. YES YES YES (1) never really got his chance in the Slipper when forced to be dragged back from the draw. Two trials in the lead up have only been fair, but he certainly has the talent. EXCEEDANCE (6) should be unbeaten, the sectionals he ran in defeat last start were scary good. He commands plenty of respect fresh, while ANAHEED (4) should improve sharply with the sting out.

Race 6:
GIRL TUESDAY (6) couldn’t have been more impressive in her return when coming from well back to win easily over 1400m. Returned a new career peak and is sure to appreciate the step up in trip. Wet track some query, but still should prove hard to beat. COME PLAY WITH ME (5) has won his last four straight and 12/27 overall. Form from WA measures right up and he has trialled very well in the lead up. JMac booked and ticks plenty of boxes in his debut for the Waller stable. SO YOU WIN (7) wasn’t suited by the tempo last start, but still ran well, while GREY LION (3) also holds claims fresh.

Race 7:
MADDI ROCKS (6) returned in great order last start when bumping into the very progressive Pandemic. Much better suited here over 1400m and while likely to get back from the draw, she should prove hard to hold out. SUBEDAR (5) did a good job to remain unbeaten at this C&D last start and appears very well set up off the back of that. McEvoy sticks and he looms as a major threat. ACADEMY (4) steps up sharply in grade, but returned sharp figures at Kembla prior to a break and looms as a major threat fresh. REFORMIST (7) won well on debut, next best.

BetEasy – The King’s Tips:

Race 5:
3. Bivouac (3 stars)
1. Yes Yes Yes (3 stars)
2. Dubious (3 stars)
4. Anaheed (3 stars)

Race 6:
1. Shraaoh (3 stars)
5. Come Play With Me (3 stars)
9. Wolfe (3 stars)
3. Grey Lion (3 stars)

Race 7:
1. Alligator Blood (5 stars)
5. Subedar (4 stars)
6. Maddi Rocks (3 stars)
10. Satin Rain (2 stars)

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 5:
DUBIOUS also accepted in Melbourne and I sense is maybe more likely to stay down there? There’s lot a lot of speed in the race. Probably ANAHEED gets a clean lead. BIVOUAC was tremendous on his return in Melbourne and ended lats prep up here defeating Libertini. What’s not to like. YES YES YES has trialled really pleasingly coming in but I suspect will have to run some extraordinary sectionals to get past BIVOUAC. Not sure he wants rain either. At the other end of the race, watch ROYAL POPCORN get beaten 100 yards and make as much money as he would winning a bush Maiden.
Selections: 3. Bivouac, 1. Yes Yes Yes, 6. Exceedance, 5. Catch Me

Race 6:
Waller with 9 of the 12 but still might get beat. Let’s presume WOLFE can lead the way. Opposition like SO YOU WIN and WU GOK meet him better at the weights but he was 1st-up and still defied them. Should only be better for the run but needs to adapt to softer conditions, something he hasn’t encountered on raceday before (he has trialed fine on Soft/Heavy). If he can’t cop with it I expect SO YOU WIN to pounce on him but as things stand I will take the punt on the lightly raced galloper doing the job.
Selections: 9. Wolfe, 7. So You Win, 1. Shraaoh, 10. Wu Gok

Race 7:
Wish I could get some clarity about this race but it’s destined to be one of those that remains cloudy until the running. Only SUBEDAR and SAVOURY have met before, the others come from here there and everywhere. Tim CLark caused an upset in the G1 last week and maybe he could initiate another minor surprise here with ACADEMY. Expect he can jump and run and no with a 1400m under his belt he is peaking 3rd-up. He is one of five horses in the race that hasn’t suffered defeat as yet. SUBEDAR and ALLIGATOR BLOOD have been good on the dry so far. REFORMIST beat a much more favoured stablemate on debut (who was due to run again on Wednesday just gone). Market with the NZers??
Selections: 4. Academy, 5. Subedar, 7. Reformist, 6. Maddi Rocks

Betfair – Race Selections:

Race 5:
1. Bivouac (5 stars)
2. Yes Yes Yes (4 stars)
3. Exceedance (4 stars)

Race 6:
1. Girl Tuesday (5 stars)
2. Come Play With Me (4 stars)
3. So You Win (4 stars)

Race 7:
1. Maddi Rocks (5 stars)
2. Subedar (4 stars)
3. Academy (4 stars)

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 5:
BIVOUAC (3) Second up from a spell. Thrashed the field when winning last time at Caulfield. This race looks ideal. YES YES YES (1) Won narrowly two runs back at Randwick and can go through the gears. Has genuine claims in this race. EXCEEDANCE (6) First up. Landed the spoils when winning two runs back at Wyong and will appreciate a good barrier. Can make a claim. ANAHEED (4) Having second run back from a break. Fought on gamely when winning two runs back at Randwick and gets a favourable draw. Has some strong credentials in this race

Race 6:
WOLFE (9) Did a good job when winning last time at Randwick and shows good early pace. Looks the winner on initial assessment. GIRL TUESDAY (6) Displayed potential when winning last start at Randwick and should get going late. Respect in this company. SO YOU WIN (7) Solid effort when winning three runs back at the track and gets some weight relief. Expect to go close. COME PLAY WITH ME (5) Bold effort to win last start at Belmont and going well this campaign. Suited in this race and can place today.

Race 7:
SUBEDAR (5) Game effort to win last time at this course and gets a favourable alley. Going well this campaign winning 2 from as many starts. Capable of taking this out. MADDI ROCKS (6) Second up from a break. Was all too good winning two runs back at Canterbury but facing a stronger class here. One of the better chances. ALLIGATOR BLOOD (1) Having second run back from a spell. Gave nothing else a chance when winning last time at Doomben but up in grade. Should be very competitive and is a genuine threat. ACADEMY (4) Strong form this campaign winning 2 from as many attempts and gets a favourable barrier. Solid win last start at Kembla Grange. One of the major players.
