BetEasy – Race Synopsis:

Race 7:
BOOKER (6) will let the speed go but she doesn’t have to get a long way back from her draw and her Oakleigh Plate win first up last prep jumps off the page. She was terrific there and a quickly run 1000m looks ideal for her first up. Jumped out as though back in really good order. EDUARDO (4) was brave behind her in that Oakleigh Plate and he will be in the race for a long way. BONS AWAY (3) also ran well in that Oakleigh Plate and has a hope with luck from an awkward draw. PROPHET’S THUMB (10) will spot them a start but talented and trialling really well up in Sydney.

Race 8:
HOMESMAN (3) ran a cracker in this race last year and while he has been off since the Caulfield Cup placing back in October last year he should be ready to give a good account of himself first up. Looks like getting into a good spot on speed without a huge amount of pressure around. FIFTY STARS (6) was only fair when resuming but think he can improve sharply second up at the mile. Similar story KENEDNA (15). Did enough first up and was a Group 1 winner at the trip back in the autumn. BEST OF DAYS (5) is another top flight winner at the mile who has to be consider. SIKANDARABAD (9) looks to have come back in good order.

BetEasy – The King’s Tips:

3. Bons Away (5 stars)
1. Faatinah (4 stars)
4. Eduardo (3 stars)
5. Inn Keeper (3 stars)

6. Fifty Stars (2 stars)
1. Harlem (2 stars)

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 7:
Speed is any/all of 1, 2, 4, 5. EDUARDO resumes, his last fresh run was herculean when working on a fast speed in a Group 1 Oakleigh Plate and somehow holding on to third. BOOKER, of course, won that Oakleigh Plate, which was the fastest in the history of that race. FAATINAH jumped out with Booker and went a touch better for mine. BONS AWAY was right on Eduardo’s heels in that fast Oakleigh Plate. He should have won fresh! I am a PROPHET’S THUMB fan, he has beaten Trope, and that horse just missed Deprive two weeks back.
Selections: 4. Eduardo, 1. Faatinah, 6. Booker, 3. Bons Away

Race 8:
SPEED: 2 looks leader with 1,3,5,13 handy. 6,9 next? HOMESMAN was beaten a lip in this race last year when fresh however he is off a longer break today and draws wide. SIKANDARABAD beat home MR MARATHON MAN and FIFTY STARS home in Lawrence Stks fresh, the latter (Fifty Stars) was wide there and ran well. BEST OF DAYS was not far away 1st-up in Sydney in a fast G1. He is unbeaten at 1600m, one of those was in a fast G1 Cantala Stks. SURPRISE BABY is just a good horse!
Selections: 9. Sikandarabad, 5. Best Of Days, 6. Fifty Stars, 3. Homesman

Betfair – Race Selections:

2. Bons Away (5 stars)
3. Eduardo (4 stars)

Race 8:
1. Homesman (5 stars)
2. Fifty Stars (5 stars)
3. Kenedna (4 stars)

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 7:
BONS AWAY (3) Having second run back from a break. Nice run placing 2nd last start here and can go through the gears. Leading chance. EDUARDO (4) Placed 3rd last time at Caulfield but fresh from a spell. Will be competitive. BOOKER (6) Showed promise when winning three runs back at Caulfield and should get going late. Among better hopes. FAATINAH (1) Should be ready to fire fresh with 5 wins from 7 attempts. Competitive effort when 2nd two runs back at Meydan. Appears well in this.

Race 8:
HOMESMAN (3) Fought on gamely when winning three runs back at Caulfield and won’t be far away during the run. Looks promising in this race. BEST OF DAYS (5) Can go through the gears. Was average finishing 7th last time at Randwick but second up. Should progress here and will be close. SIKANDARABAD (9) Having second run back from a spell. Made up ground when 4th last time at Caulfield. Among better hopes. FIFTY STARS (6) Second up from a break. Won narrowly three runs back at Rosehill. Strong each way hope.

BetEasy – Race Synopsis:

Race 5:
LIBERTINI (2) destroyed them first up in the Silver Shadow Stakes when simply dynamite at this C&D. Returned Group 1 winning figures there and only has to hold her form to be winning again and winning easily. KIAMICHI (1) appears much better suited back against her own age and cannot be taken lightly with Bowman back in the saddle. VILLAMI (4) got caught in a speed battle first up, but still stuck on well and can improve, while LET IT POUR (5) continues to race well and should be at her top for this.

Race 6:
NATURE STRIP (3) was below his best in the Doomben 10,000 – but had clear excuses and appears much better suited in this affair. Has trialled very well and has drawn to sit just off the speed. Biggest tick, the ear muffs come off. On speed figures he is the fastest horse, let’s just hope we get to see him let rip. SUNLIGHT (4) has only missed the money once in 16 starts and went to the paddock off a game effort in the TJ Smith Stakes. No doubt connections will be hoping she get’s closer to NS than the last time they met (beaten 6L in the Listed Lightning Stakes). PIERATA (2) is likely to find the 1000m too short, but still should be strong late, while GRAFF (5) also has to be respected.

Race 7:
AVILIUS (1) hit the line well enough first up and is sure to appreciate the step up to the mile. Very well treated under the WFA conditions and while likely to get back again, he should prove very strong late. Although he is still likely to still be short of his best, he still should be too good. UNFORGOTTEN (12) returned in good order last start and much like Avilius she should have good improvement leading into this. Won this race last year and has to be respected. SAMADOUBT (2) was too good on-speed when leading throughout in the Winx Stakes. Looks to get similar favours here and should take some catching, while CON TE PARTIRO (14) is another improver.

Race 8:
DREAMFORCE (4) went to the paddock off a new career peak when finishing a close second in the Doncaster behind Brutal. Stuck on very well there and has trialled very well in the lead up. Rawiller appears a key booking and he is a noted flier fresh. Drawn to either lead or sit just off and should prove very hard to get passed. ECKSTEIN (14) is flying for her new stable and she appears very well placed down in the weights. Has also trialled well off a freshen up (42 days) and has the in-form Berry aboard. Major threat. TE AKAU SHARK (2) is the big ‘Boom’ horse and gets his chance to confirm his place at the top of the Epsom market. Very talented but want to see him do it here first. KOLDING (3) went to the paddock in winning form and also has to be kept safe.

BetEasy – The King’s Tips:

Race 5:
1. Kiamichi (3 stars)
2. Libertini (3 stars)
3. Probabeel (2 stars)
7. Bright Rubick (2 stars)

Race 6:
4. Sunlight (3 stars)
1. Redzel (3 stars)
6. Zoustyle (3 stars)
2. Pierata (3 stars)

Race 7:
1. Avilius (3 stars)
11. Angel Of Truth (3 stars)
15. Girl Tuesday (3 stars)
4. Shraaoh (3 stars)

Race 8:
4. Dreamforce (3 stars)
7. Archedemus (3 stars)
12. Star Of The Seas (3 stars)
2. Te Akau Shark (3 stars)

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 5:
I have either 4 or 6 leading with KIAMICHI (drawn widest) an obvious chance to cross up as well, if she jumps cleanly. You just get the feeling she wants wetter than she’ll get here though. LIBERTINI was prohibitive odds on resumption and everything she did there means she will be again. She may even get that same sort of position in running – camping 3rd/clear all the way. She’s yet have a filly beat her home and that is about 80% likely to remain the case after this race. LET IT POUR is crying out for a win but she runs into the same high grader she did a fortnight ago so may be relegated to the minor money yet again.
Selections: 2. Libertini, 5. Let It Pour, 3. Probabeel, 1. Kiamichi

Race 6:
What an absolutely fascinating race this. REDZEL has won the latest two runnings of course, on his way to winning the Everest. The speed set-up alone could occupy you for a good deal of time. I have settled on the belief that ZOUSTYLE may want it more than anyone and that SUNLIGHT (from 6) will be positive as well. They have wanted to track on behind with NATURE STRIP in his trials and he will have the chance to do that here. Where that leaves REDZEL in the run is a big question. He can scoot out front on his day and I am absolutely not knocking him to win this. SUNLIGHT for me though. Her trials have been terrific and she will be hard to get past.
Selections: 4. Sunlight, 3. Nature Strip, 1. Redzel, 6. Zoustyle

Race 7:
Waller with half the field but there is some handy horses in opposition to him here. SAMADOUBT the obvious leader again after his Winx Stakes upset. Hard to leave out of top four this time but, all being equal, AVILIUS just looks perfectly placed with the added furlong after the way he finished off first-up. He has taken all before him since coming out to Australia (winning 8 from 12) and if he is a similar price here to that which he started a fortnight ago, I will be very tempted. UNFORGOTTEN through the same race obviously and she looks the best chance for Waller, what with her impressive 2nd-up record.
Selections: 1. Avilius, 12. Unforgotten, 5. Sixties Groove, 2. Samadoubt

Race 8:
Year in year out, the Tramway is a great race. (In fact, and I’ve never really thought about this before, but I think it’s my all time favourite Group 2 race.) Dominated by Waller this year but for some reason that’s not putting me off as it sometimes does. Look for 13 to hit the front with 4, 7 and 9 handy. And overall I fancy the on-speeders could be hard to get to. DREAMFORCE has been beaten 1st-up his last couple of preps but after finishing last campaign in career best nick, he has trialled really nicely coming into this, with Rawiller aboard both times TOM MELBOURNE has run 2nd in this race the last two years (to Happy Clapper, then Comin’ Through) last year and he is here as an each-way chance as always.
Selections: 4. Dreamforce, 13. Penske, 12. Star Of The Seas

Betfair – Race Selections:

Race 5:
1. Libertini (5 stars)
2. Kiamichi (4 stars)
3. Villami (4 stars)

Race 6:
1. Nature Strip (5 stars)
2. Sunlight (4 stars)
3. Pierata (4 stars)

Race 7:
1. Avilius (5 stars)
2. Unforgotten (4 stars)
3. Samadoubt (4 stars)

Race 8:
1. Dreamforce (5 stars)
2. Eckstein (4 stars)
3. Te Akau Shark (4 stars)

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 5:
LIBERTINI (2) Second up from a spell. Landed the spoils when winning last time at the track. Could have race run to suit and is one of the punters top hopes. VILLAMI (4) Second up. Snuck in a place when 3rd two runs back at this course. Worth consideration. LET IT POUR (5) Third up from a break. Put in a competitive run when placing 3rd last time at the track. Looks a good chance of finishing in the money. KIAMICHI (1) Having second run back from a spell. Set a strong tempo when 3rd three runs back at this track and strong form at this trip. Take on trust.

Race 6:
NATURE STRIP (3) First up specialist with 2 wins from 3 runs. Brave effort to win two runs back at Rosehill and will be positive in the run early. Looks suited and should just win this. SUNLIGHT (4) Showed promise when winning two runs back at Moonee Valley and displays good tactical speed. Will go well here. ZOUSTYLE (6) Proven record when resuming with 3 wins from 3 runs. Solid effort when winning last start at Doomben but up in class. Will be competitive. REDZEL (1) Thrives at the track and expecting to settle positively. Good prospect for the exotics at least.

Race 7:
AVILIUS (1) Races well second up winning 3 from 4 starts. Was all too good winning two runs back at Rosehill. Going the right way and will give the others something to chase today. UNFORGOTTEN (12) Proven record second up with 3 wins from 5 runs. Did well to run into 3rd two runs back at this venue and can go through the gears. Place wouldn’t shock. SAMADOUBT (2) Won narrowly last run at this course and should race on the speed. Could sneak a place. CON TE PARTIRO (14) Second up from a break. Solid effort when 4th last time at this track but up in class. Good chance of threatening these.

Race 8:
TE AKAU SHARK (2) Having second run back from a break. Made no mistakes when winning two runs back at Riccarton Park and will be motoring home late. Win looks likely. DREAMFORCE (4) Got the prize when winning three runs back at this venue but back from a break. Jockey Nash Rawiller riding for trainer John P Thompson command respect. Should take beating. KOLDING (3) Resuming after a spell. Was fighting out the finish when winning last time at Eagle Farm but up against stronger competition today. Looks to have a good chance of placing. INVINCIBLE GEM (8) Having third run back from a break. Nice show placing 3rd last time around here. Can measure up to this company.
