BetEasy – Race Synopsis:

Race 5:
DALASAN (5) was a talented two-year-old but is a much better horse this time around on the evidence of his return. Ran past the Memsie winner there and is sure to appeal to plenty on the strength of that. STRASBOURG (3) has a nice profile. Missed Dubious in the Champagne up in Brisbane but improved to win the Sires and might have more upside now. Liked the trial. LYRE (7) was just okay first up but that can knock the rust off and she should run well. Stablemate SUPER SETH (4) will run well again after winning fresh and SEBRAKATE (8) arguably should have beaten him there so must be considered.

Race 6:
FUNDAMENTALIST (6) was sound fresh but it was a steadily run race and that may have caught her out going straight into a high-pressure Group 1 last time. She was okay there and this is much easier. Gets a great chance to land one. MY PENDANT (7) has a better winning record. Chases a third on the bounce and must be a hope again. FIDELIA (9) ran really well fresh and 1400m here suits. She will rattle home. MUSIC BAY (3) will be another second up improver and PRINCESS JENNI (1) should run well before getting out over further.

Race 7:
MYSTIC JOURNEY (13) wobbled around the corner fresh but she powered past them once she balanced up and she is only going to be stronger for that run. Gets back to the Flemington mile where she starred in the autumn. Big test taking on SCALES OF JUSTICE (4) who will have no issue getting out to the mile and stood up in a fast Memsie last time. Big win and he won’t hand this to the filly without a fight. Neither will HARTNELL (1) who has chased the pair them home this prep and looks like peaking out to the mile now. His best makes him a threat and every chance we get a generous price about him now. YUCATAN (9) and ROSTROPOVICH (5) are talented and look the most dangerous of the resuming stayers.

Race 8:
MALIBU STYLE (2) has been terrific of late and no reason to think he doesn’t run another big race. Aurie’s Star effort has worked out really well. Straight record is terrific and he finds a Bobbie Lewis that doesn’t look beyond him. Ratings are right there. RENEWAL (12) is a talent. He can run well here first up along with RESIN (10) who raced well on the fresh side last time around and has some good performances to her name. USAIN BOWLER (14) sets up well for the straight. Will power at them late. DOTHRAKI (1) is hard to catch but he will be thereabouts as always.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 5:
Great race. DALASAN should be unbeaten, his fresh win was over a subsequent G1 winner Scales Of Justice in fast time. SUPER SETH had the right run 1st-up but won well. SEBRAKATE was the hard luck story behind him but doubt we see $14 again him. LYRE worked to the line sweetly fresh behind Exhilarates who then won again. DUBIOUS improves here with blinkers on? YOURDEEL’s latest jumpsuit was OK, like his form around Probabeel given that horse was on the heels of Libertini last week in Sydney. HAWKER HURRICANE looked to go better than him in said jumpout. EXPRESS PASS has a future.
Selections: 5. Dalasan, 4. Super Seth, 8. Sebrakate

Race 6:
SPEED: 4, 6 with 10 handy. 3,2,8,13 up there also? SPANISH WHISPER chased a fast one in Pippie fresh, she won Kewney Stks this track/ trip 2nd-up last prep despite a wide run, and ran time. She beat home PRINCESS JENNI that day. FIDELIA really attacked the line behind Spanish Whisper and is unbeaten (4 for 4) beyond 1200m, and unbeaten (3 for 3) here at Flemington. MY PENDANT beat MUSIC BAY fresh when given a lovely ride, Music Bay covered ground there and was every bit as good as the winner. MISS SISKA trialled well. FUNDAMENTALIST is a G1 mare when right.
Selections: 9. Fidelia, 2. Spanish Whisper, 3. Music Bay, 6. Fundamentalist

Race 7:
SPEED: 2, 4 look leaders with 13 & 1, 5 handy? MYSTIC JOURNEY was too strong fresh in Lawrence, she should have won her last nine races. Her three 1600m runs have all been dominant wins, two of them here at Flemington. SCALES OF JUSTICE won the G1 Memsie in strong style and beat Alizee, who was behind Mystic Journey in the All-Star Mile here. HUMIDOR flies second up and gets his favourite track. KINGS WILL DREAM was excellent fresh in Sydney, he beat all-bar Grunt in this race last year. YUCATAN has won at 1600m, his Herbert Power win is hard to erase from my memory! HARTNELL will run well.
Selections: 13. Mystic Journey, 4. Scales Of Justice, 9. Yucatan, 7. Kings Will Dream

Race 8:
So, 4, 6, 10 dual acceptors (Sydney), all key hopes if here. DEMERARA and REDOUBLE trialled together Sept 2. Both went very well. Demerara has won 5 of 6 fresh and won here in March. I AM EXCITED motored late in her latest trial under no riding, It was lovely work. She won the Gilgai here last spring but drew wide that day. STREETS OF AVALON is a bit underrated. RENEWAL is a good fresh horse, if he can beat Organza and Star of the Seas I fancy he is in the game here. USAIN BOWLER was ridden a bit warm last time, he will be flying home! DOTHRAKI (wide/good fresh) and MALIBU STYLE live hopes.
Selections: 11. Demerara, 14. Usain Bowler, 12. Renewal, 5. Streets Of Avalon

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 5:
DALASAN (5) Second up from a spell. Finished on top last start at Morphettville and going down in grade. Winning claims. SUPER SETH (4) Second up. Chimed in with a win last start at Caulfield and drawn nicely. Could pose a threat and expected to go very close. DUBIOUS (2) Having second run back from a break. Won three runs back at Doomben and has the ideal barrier. Use betting as a guide. STRASBOURG (3) Back from a break. Won narrowly three runs back at Eagle Farm but back in trip here. Each way appeal.

Race 6:
MY PENDANT (7) Got the cash when winning last run at Caulfield and easy to come into at this trip. Rates well and should be taken seriously. FIDELIA (9) Fought on well to win two runs back around here and has a great burst of speed late. Appears well in this. FUNDAMENTALIST (6) Should come to hand quickly. Improved result placing 3rd two runs back at Caulfield and third up from a break. Winnable race. SPANISH WHISPER (2) Good run when finishing 2nd last start at Caulfield and always seems to find the line well. Each way hope.

Race 7:
MYSTIC JOURNEY (13) Wonder mare looking to continue her winning streak. Looks well poised to do so. SCALES OF JUSTICE (4) Continued his good form with a win in the Memsie Stakes. Clear next best. HARTNELL (1) Hasn’t won for a while but still racing well. Don’t count him out. YUCATAN (9) First run back for 10 months but we know what he is capable of. Follow any betting leads.

Race 8:
DEMERARA (11) Proven record first up. Game effort to win last run at Gold Coast and strong form at the distance. Winning chance. MALIBU STYLE (2) Fought on well to win three runs back at this course. Should take beating. ZOUTORI (15) Got the cash when winning three runs back at Caulfield and can go through the gears. Place hope. USAIN BOWLER (14) Really dug deep when winning two runs back at Moonee Valley and suited at this trip in the past. Has a great burst of speed late. Expect to go close.

bet365 – Suggested Play:

Race 6: Exceedance, saving on Bivouac
Race 7: Arcadia Queen, saving on Trope
Race 8: Dyslexic – each-way

BetEasy – Race Synopsis:

Race 6:
EXCEEDANCE (4) couldn’t have been more impressive in his return when making light work of Bivouac. Had the weights (2kg) in his favour there, but did concede a fitness edge and is expected to improve sharply second up. Loaded with talent and should take a power of beating. BIVOUAC (3) travelled very well, but found little when asked to let down on the heavy track. Much better suited here and a repeat of what he did first up, it should see him right in the finish. DAWN PASSAGE (5) takes on the big boys here and while he may find them a bit slick, he is trending the right way. KUBRICK (6) a big watch fresh with JMac in the saddle.

Race 7:
ARCADIA QUEEN (6) couldn’t have been more impressive in her first preparation, making the jump from maiden company to winning the Group 1 Kingston Town Stakes by 4.5L in just six starts. Kicks off over 1300m which is a big tick and she looks to have settled in well to her new surroundings. JMac legs aboard and she should take a power of beating from the favourable draw. TROPE (11) only went down narrowly first up and is expected to improve sharply racing second up. Racing pattern is low percentage, but he is very talented and should be very strong late. BALLER (12) won well last weekend and has to be kept safe, while ZOUSAIN (2) remains under strong notice in his return.

Race 8:
DYSLEXIC (11) was the run of the race first up when forced to go back from the wide draw. Reeled off some very slick sectionals and has drawn to settle a lot closer. Races well on her home deck and gets her chance down in the weights. Hard to beat. CHAMPAGNE CUDDLES (4) has never missed the money fresh and appears well placed back in this grade. Drawn to get a lovely smother and looms as a major threat. MIZZY (9) won well fresh and while meeting Dyslexic 3.5kg worse off at the weights, she is open to good improvement second up and has to be respected. FASIKA (14) is unbeaten from three starts and clearly a mare with plenty of talent, keep very safe.

BetEasy – The King’s Tips:

Race 6:
3. Bivouac (4 stars)
2. Yes Yes Yes (3 stars)
1. Prince Fawaz (3 stars)
5. Dawn Passage (3 stars)

Race 7:
6. Arcadia Queen (5 stars)
4. Tom Melbourne (4 stars)
8. Gem Song (2 stars)
7. Redouble (2 stars)

Race 8:
1. Invincibella (5 stars)
10. River Racer (4 stars)
14. Fasika (3 stars)
13. Ready To Prophet (2 stars)

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 6:
A great race that woiuld benefit from a bit more speed. 3 and 8 head up front. DAWN PASSAGE may have to settle a bit closer than we are accustomed to seeing him and that may be no bad thing. After dealing with a handy field first-up, he has been back to win a Canterbury trial in nice fashion. EXCEEDANCE lowered the colours of BIVOUAC in the San Domenico and I doubt switching from Heavy to Good will affect the likelihood of that happening again. YES YES YES and PRINCE FAWAZ are good but give away some race fitness to all others.
Selections: 5. Dawn Passage, 4. Exceedance, 3. Bivouac, 2. Yes Yes Yes

Race 7:
5 to lead 10 and 12. They choose to go here with ARCADIA QUEEN and I dare say there’s a midfield spot (on the rail?) from which she can launch into her finish. Better over a bit further but 1300m looks a nice trip for her to kick off her east coast mission. TROPE is a dynamic backmarker that is weighted to run past most opposition again (if not all). Tempo might be his friend? ZOUSAIN has turned into something of a bridesmaid but I don’t want to undersell what he may be able to offer. EL DORADO DREAMING always some chance in everything she contests but she’ll be back with TROPE.
Selections: 6. Arcadia Queen, 11. Trope, 2. Zousain, 9. El Dorado Dreaming

Race 8:
2 and 12 early scratchings runs in the previous while 3, 8 and 14 remained dual acceptors at preview time. Pace looks moderate and stems (I think) from 13 and 14. FASIKA needs four scratching to make her way into the final event but it is arguably more suitable for her. If she’s here I am inclined to respect anyway. MIZZY finally rewarded her followers first-up and despite meeting DYSLEXIC worse at the weights remains a strong winning hope. I AM EXCITED was terrific against FASIKA in a September 5 trial; it looked like she had the other mare’s measure in that. INVINCIBELLA won this last year over stablemate NOIRE.
Selections: 14. Fasika, 9. Mizzy, 3. I Am Excited, 1. Invincibella

Betfair – Race Selections:

Race 6:
1. Exceedance (5 stars)
2. Bivouac (4 stars)
3. Dawn Passage (4 stars)

Race 7:
1. Arcadia Queen (5 stars)
2. Trope (3 stars)
3. Baller (4 stars)

Race 8:
1. Dyslexic (5 stars)
2. Champagne Cuddles (4 stars)
3. Mizzy (4 stars)

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 6:
EXCEEDANCE (4) Second up from a spell. Solid win last run at this venue but up against stronger competition today. Going good enough to win this and a clear top pick. BIVOUAC (3) Third up from a spell. Won by a huge margin two runs back at Caulfield but racing in stronger company today. Must respect in this event. YES YES YES (2) Game effort to win two runs back at Randwick and can go through the gears. Well placed and has solid claims. DAWN PASSAGE (5) Having second run back from a break. Got the upper hand late when winning last run at this track and can go through the gears. Worth consideration.

Race 7:
ARCADIA QUEEN (6) First up here. Was strong to the line when winning last run at Ascot and coming to a new trainer. Rates on top. TROPE (11) Charged home into 2nd last start at Randwick and expected to be flashing home. Capable of getting into the money. BALLER (12) Did a good job when winning last start at Randwick and should jump out and bowl along. Has won 1 from 2 attempts this preparation. Should be very competitive and is a genuine threat. ZOUSAIN (2) Resuming after a spell. Good performance to run into 2nd two runs back at Caulfield and goes down in grade. Follow any market leads and has a chance of finishing in the exotics.

Race 8:
CHAMPAGNE CUDDLES (4) Proven record first up with 3 wins from 6 runs. Finished 7th last start at Doomben but going down in class. Can get the job done. FASIKA (14) Really dug deep when winning last run at Randwick and likely to be well placed early. Likely threat. MIZZY (9) Second up from a break. Winner last start at Randwick but racing in stronger company here. Could take beating. INVINCIBELLA (1) Back from a break. Game effort to win last start at Eagle Farm. Good prospects.
