Race 8:
1. Trekking (5 stars)
13. Flirtini (3 stars)
12. Stageman (3 stars)
8. Valour Road (3 stars)

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 8:
Fascinating Winterbottom. The profile of TREKKING is head and shoulders above the rest, and only bad luck appears to stand in his way. Finished a mighty third in a track-record-breaking edition of The Everest and is a G1 1400m winner also, so he has significant weapons. With clear running in the straight he should simply prove too powerful. VITAL SILVER heads home after a Manikato Stakes placing and is a big chance, especially after the draw. If HEY DOC can tap into some of his best form then he’ll give this a mighty shake, while local stars STAGEMAN and FLIRTINI will be flying home late.
Selections: 1. Trekking, 10. Vital Silver, 3. Hey Doc, 12. Stageman

Betfair – Race Selections:

Race 8:
Trekking (5 stars)
Flirtini (5 stars)
Vital Silve (4 stars)

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 8:
TREKKING (1) Fought on gamely when winning three runs back at Caulfield and expected to be flashing home. Win looks likely. STAGEMAN (12) Did its best work late when 3rd two runs back at this course and has a great burst of speed late. Respect against this field. VITAL SILVER (10) Third up from a spell. Flew home into 2nd last time at Moonee Valley and will appreciate the drop in class. Expect to go close. FLIRTINI (13) Won narrowly last run at this course and easy to come into at the trip. Chance in this field so include in exotics.

BetEasy – The Wolf:

Race 4, No.4 Eleven Eleven – 3.5 stars
Race 8, No.7 Outback Barbie – 4 stars

bet365 – Suggested Play:

Race 8: Brave Song

BetEasy – Race Synopsis:

Race 8:
The form of BRAVE SONG (2) may not leap off the page but he has been going around in strong races in NSW and hasn’t been far away. Produced the best closing sectional when running on from last in The Hunter and was beaten less than 2L in the Redzel. Much better drawn than last start and his best form can measure up to these. OUTBACK BARBIE (7) was very good first up when beating many of these rivals to win the Listed Keith Noud. Worth noting she has only ever won fresh but she has performed well second up before and may be a more mature mare now. CHAPTER AND VERSE (10) rattled home to finish less than 2L behind Outback Barbie when resuming. Has a 50 per cent strike rate second up. I’M A RIPPA (3) led and fought on well for third in the Keith Noud. Can improve with that run under the belt. BOOMSARA (4) didn’t come up last campaign but has trialled well. Keep safe.

BetEasy – The King’s Tips:

Race 8:
12. Removal (5 stars)
8. River Racer (3 stars)
10. Chapter And Verse (3 stars)
7. Outback Barbie (3 stars)

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 8:
The days feature is the Group 3 George Moore where we can expect to see plenty of speed up front with I’m A Rippa likely to hold out Monsieur Gustave with nos.4, 5, 11 & possibly 5 all up keeping the pressure on. Gates have swayed me here with CHAPTER AND VERSE coming up with alley 2, he’s likely going to find himself parked not too far off the good tempo early, he loomed up fresh & although outgunned clearly by OUTBACK BARBIE in the run to the line she could well get posted from her poor gate today & end up working in the run, CHAPTER won’t. Respecting BRAVE SONG this grade, 12 & 15 roughies.
Selections: 10. Chapter And Verse (value bet), 7. Outback Barbie, 2. Brave Song, 12. Removal

Betfair – Race Selections:

Race 8:
Outback Barbie (5 stars)
Chapter And Verse (5 stars)
Brave Song (4 stars)

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 8:
OUTBACK BARBIE (7) Having second run back from a break. Got the cash when winning last start here. Prominent showing expected and won’t be far off them. CHAPTER AND VERSE (10) Races well second up. Rattled home nicely into 3rd three runs back at Sunshine Coast and will be trying to topple them late. Deserves consideration. BRAVE SONG (2) Should be swooping on the field late. Came in 8th last start at Newcastle and has to carry more weight this time. Possess the talent and has a chance here. I’M A RIPPA (3) Having second run back from a spell. Will be pushing for a forward position early. Place wouldn’t shock.

Race 7: Renewal

bet365 – Suggested Play:

Race 7: Ranier and Bobbing
Race 8: Handle The Truth

BetEasy – Race Synopsis:

Race 7:
RANIER (14) was only narrowly edge out at Flemington last start and sets up very well back in trip, down in the weights. Rates highly and has drawn to receive all the favours for O’Hara. Not a prolific winner (3/19), but is still rarely far away. Hard to beat. BOBBING (10) has been very good in both starts to begin this preparation and should be right at his peak racing third up. Drawn well and looms as a major threat. SAMBRO (6) went to the paddock in good form and has to be kept safe fresh with JMac in the saddle. Last start Snake Gully Cup winner DON’T GIVE A DAMN (12) the next in line.

Race 8:
HANDLE THE TRUTH (7) won very well two back before game in defeat last start in the Goulburn Cup. Sets up well back to 1100m and Nash riding at 54.5kg is as good a push as ever. Drawn well and should prove very hard to beat. BON AMIS (1) stuck on well enough in the Hunter and he too sets up well back in trip. This is by far and away his wheelhouse having won 5/10 at this track and placed in 8/9 over this trip. Major threat. SANDBAR (6) displayed sharp improvement last start and has to be respected off the back of that win, while GLENALL (3) also has to be respected.

BetEasy – The King’s Tips:

Race 7:
13. Hogmanay (3 stars)
3. Renewal (3 stars)
6. Sambro (3 stars)
14. Ranier (3 stars)

Race 8:
7. Handle The Truth (5 stars)
1. Bon Amis (3 stars)
2. Passage Of Time (3 stars)
6. Sandbar (3 stars)

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 7:
No speed! INVINCIBLE GEM can cross up easily should they choose (and I think they should choose!). She only beat one home in the Newcastle feature a fortnight back but she saw no easy run and I am happy to look straight past it. There are all sorts of postives if you look through her form. For starters, her latest two at Rosehill have seen her winning a G2 over Daysee Doom/Noire at this trip and also a 2nd to Alizee. Three starts ago she was G1 placed, beaten three-quarters. Hoping she can take total control of this. MOSS TRIP looming on her next win but tempo may not set her up to win. SAMBRO, old friend, you’re back! McDonald on and trialled well.
Selections: 1. Invincible Gem (value bet), 4. Moss Trip, 6. Sambro, 2. Cellarman

Race 8:
For mine probably the race of the day. Fancy BALLER might want to cross up and lead the way. 2, 8, 7 and 1 all just in behind. BON AMIS ran out of his skin in the Hunter and after a performance what sort of race would you want to see him in – an 1100m at Rosehill. Well, here it is. Sam Clenton on board; she hasn’t ridden him much but is flying at the moment (as I type this she’s had 12 winners in the last fortnight!). PASSAGE OF TIME is solid fresh but needs to be proactive from a potentially tricky draw. Think that should work out OK and therefore rate him a winning chance at a track he likes. ALBUMIN loves the joint as well!
Selections: 1. Bon Amis, 2. Passage Of Time, 10. Albumin, 7. Handle The Truth

Betfair – Race Selections:

Race 7:
Ranier (5 stars)
Bobbing (4 stars)
Sambro (4 stars)

Race 8:
Handle The Truth (5 stars)
Bon Amis (4 stars)
Sandbar (4 stars)

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 7:
RANIER (14) Kept finding the line when 2nd last time at Flemington and has drawn to do little work. Should get going late. Good chance to be first past the post. SAMBRO (6) Resuming after a break. Almost got a win when 2nd last run at Gold Coast. Likely threat. BOBBING (10) Third up from a spell. Ran on strongly when 3rd two runs back at Randwick but facing a stronger class. Expect to go close. RENEWAL (3) Displayed good finishing speed when 3rd three runs back at Caulfield and looks well graded here. Can go on with it.

Race 8:
HANDLE THE TRUTH (7) Scored a victory two runs back at Randwick but will be dropping in distance today. Can dominate here and win. BON AMIS (1) Chimed in with a win three runs back here and strong performer at this distance in the past. Will give a big sight. SANDBAR (6) Game effort to win last start at the track and third up. Go close. GLENALL (3) Fought on well to win last start at Randwick. Will be trying to topple them late. Will go well here.
