BetEasy – Race Synopsis:

Race 8:
REGAL POWER (5) was an impressive winner of the Railway then big run in the Kingston Town from a wide gate. Small field and tempo might be his only enemy. The one to beat. GATTING (2) won a Group 1 in the Melbourne spring and he wasn’t disgraced in the Kingston Town either. Logical danger if there is one. MISSISSIPPI DELTA (6) also comes through the Group 1 last time and just held her ground. Capable of a place. STAR EXHIBIT (3) bobs up and a big watch on AMBITIOUS (1) first-up.

Race 9:
MIZLECKI (2) has taken on open company in three runs back and wasn’t disgraced in any of them. Back to mares here and should be within striking range. Good each-way hope. SNOWCHINO (5) is fitter for two runs back and was only reeled in late two weeks ago in this company. Hard to beat. ELECTRIC LIGHT (3) probably gets back and will need something to tag. First run at a mile but if it pans out for her she will take holding out. PERFECT JEWEL (1) and LIKE A BUTTERFLY (4) are right in this too.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 8:
REGAL POWER looks to have a mortgage on this WFA event. His G1 Railway Stakes victory was something else and his G1 Kingston Town Classic performance was also significant, racing wide throughout and still managing to clock the third-fastest final 200m split of the day. Just coming into his preferred distance range, so expecting him to elevate even further at the 2100m. GATTING is a giant-killer though and he can never, ever be underestimated. So brave when punching the breeze three wide the entire last start. MISSISSIPPI DELTA and STAR EXHIBIT round out the top four en route to the Perth Cup.
Selections: 5. Regal Power, 2. Gatting, 6. Mississippi Delta, 3. Star Exhibit

Race 9:
Quite a few of these mares are putting up their hands in this year’s Starstruck Classic and reckon it could be a good option for MIZLECKI. Very talented on her day, she looks set to relish coming back to mares grade after competing in a Group 1 Railway Stakes last start. Has some very strong formlines and if she can tap into some of her best form, she goes close. Stablemates PERFECT JEWEL and ELECTRIC LIGHT will have a heap of admirers, and deservedly so, with Perfect Jewel better suited at the mile, while likely leader SNOWCHINO looks set to rip out a peak performance third up this trip.
Selections: 2. Mizlecki (value bet), 1. Perfect Jewel, 3. Electric Light, 5. Snowchino

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 8:
REGAL POWER (5) Really dug deep when winning two runs back here. Might take a while to wind up but should be hitting top gear in the straight. This looks suitable and must be respected. GATTING (2) Ran on strongly when 2nd three runs back at this track. Should be swooping on the field late. Big chance. MISSISSIPPI DELTA (6) Got the prize when winning two runs back here and third up today. Very tidy this preparation winning 1 from 2 starts. One of the major players. STAR EXHIBIT (3) Game effort to win three runs back around here. Will be motoring home late. Looks a value runner.

Race 9:
ELECTRIC LIGHT (3) Nice effort when winning two runs back at this venue. Likely to get back in the run. Can figure in this. PERFECT JEWEL (1) Stormed home when 3rd three runs back at this venue. Must come into consideration. SNOWCHINO (5) Having third run back from a spell. Grabbed towards the finish when 3rd last time at this course and drawn well. Definite hope. LIKE A BUTTERFLY (4) Having second run back from a break. Charged home into 2nd last time at this venue and has a good draw. Can win at odds.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 5:
The Group 3 Grand Prix is now a summer feature shifted to this date previously being run during the winter carnival. The interstate trainers are well represented & I’d suggest Bjorn Baker’s Savvy Valentino will likely lead, 3, 11 & 12 can also push on. I’m with the Sunny Coaster DON’T WAIVER who is really busting for this trip & more importantly this track, although placed his past couple at Doomben he’s far better suited around here & will be winding up very strongly. CHAINS OF HONOUR won well at Hawkesbury, no luck MOSSHIKI latest whilst SMART METEOR is doing nothing wrong.
Selections: 1. Don’t Waiver, 5. Chains Of Honour, 4. Mosshiki, 2. Smart Meteor

Race 8:
Feature sprint race for the day where the speedball Spurcraft will lead from an inside draw, Fiery Heights looks the only opposition, 8 & 10 & possibly 12 likely to sit handy enough in the run. SPURCRAFT was dominant winning first up at Doomben however he was able to lead unchallenged which suggests he was entitled to be, might be the case again here however he steps up 150m. FREDDIE FOX TROT has the speed to hold a spot early & has trialled extremely well, look for any positive market leads. SCALLOPINI nice & fresh will be hard to hold out late, he can clock some slick sectionals on his day.
Selections: 10. Freddie Fox Trot, 4. Spurcraft, 9. Scallopini, 3. Badajoz

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 5:
CHAINS OF HONOUR (5) Second up. Got the cash when winning last start at Hawkesbury and drawn nicely. Ready to win. MISSION PHOENIX (6) Solid effort when winning last start at Kembla Grange and shows good early pace. Going well this campaign. Genuine threat. DON’T WAIVER (1) Rocketed home into 2nd last start at Doomben but facing a stronger class. Ticks plenty of boxes and looks like value. SMART METEOR (2) Good win last time at Doomben and can go through the gears. Tracking very well this preparation. Could be value

Race 8:
SPURCRAFT (4) Second up. Did a good job when winning last time at Doomben. Will take some beating today. ISAURIAN (6) First up specialist. Won narrowly two runs back at Doomben. One of the major players. TACTICAL ADVANTAGE (1) Finished on top two runs back at Flemington and dropping in class. Finishes off strongly. Modest chance for multis. SCALLOPINI (9) Proven record first up. Fought on well to win three runs back at this venue and dropping weight today. Exotics hope in this event.
