Brisbane City FC vs Brisbane Strikers FC

5:30PM/ SAT 26 SEP

Corporate Travel Management Stadium

Last RD- City went down 3-2 to the Peninsula Power last round in what was a fiercely competitive and contested match. That was at AJ Kelly Park. The Strikers in their latest hit-out drew 1-1, at the Croatian Sports Centre. That was against the Gold Coast Knights Soccer Club. Brisbane City are currently 2nd last in what has been a disappointing season for them. They’ve lost 9/15 games and are on just 14 competition points. Whilst their GD is -13. That’s 3rd worst in all the league. As for Brisbane Strikers, they are currently in 9th spot. They’ve had a rather odd campaign so far, with 6 draws from 15 games so far, + their 3 victories. They are on 15 points. Massive territorial advantage to either side if they can get the win here, In City’s defeat, they scored goals via Sibatuara in the 57th min and Fabrizio in the 70th min. They also leaked 2 yellows. And in the Strikers draw, their sole goal came through Hills, with a 45th minute converted spot-kick. And they conceded yellows in the 8th and 87th mins. Whilst the opposition saw a 45th min red to Wellsmore.

Key Player- S S S Sibatuara. Man’s got 5 goals this season so far for the Strikers. And as evidenced by both sides recent results, they like to score a goal or two! So as you would expect, he should be right amongst the thick of the action throughout the match. He scored 2 earlier this year vs Capalaba and is a very good attacking lad. However, in his past 5 games, he’s gotten only the 1 goal, which came last round. So you can also expect him to be really pushing hard for his side in this game, not only for a Derby advantage, but for his own advantage as well. A player of his caliber shouldn’t be down for too long and I would expect his fortunes to change in this game.

Betting Tips- Pick the Strikers to be victorious at $1.90 (bet365, Unibet)

And also pick them to score first.

Gold Coast United Football Club vs Eastern Suburbs Football Club

4:30PM/ SUN 27 SEP

Goodwin Park

Last RD- The Gold Coast were hammered by the Knights 3-0 last round, in what was their rivalry game. The thrashing occurred at the Croatian Sports Centre. Whilst for the Eastern Suburbs, they went down 2-1 to Olympic FC, at Heath Park. The Gold Coast are currently 8th on the ladder and the Eastern Suburbs 10th. They have 4 wins and 3 from 14 games respectively. Not looking too good for either side! The Gold Coast are on 16 points and the Eastern Suburbs 14. They have scored 21 and 28 goals respectively. Whilst they have each conceded 25 and 30 respectively. The Gold Coast leaked goals in the 59th, 68th and 92nd mins of the match. Whilst they also conceded 2 yellows in the 53rd and 76th mins. As for the Eastern Suburbs, their only goal came through Yango in the 27th minute, as they also leaked 4 yellows. They also gave away a massive 2 reds! The first to Balarezo in the 41st min, And then again to North in the 93rd min.

Key Player- Abrahim Yango, He’s given up 5 yellows this season! Good for = 2nd most in the League! Not the most amazing statistic to own is it? This is crucial because if the game is close as expected, you would hate to see him create a careless tackle and be sent of late, or perhaps even create a penalty. He needs to get himself under control and be more calm and composed in what is a relatively big game for both these sides. His impact on this game could to be honest, be really quite good, or really quite bad. It’s 50/50 how it could end up with regards to him. He needs his impact to be long-lasting and positive in this clash. That’s for sure!

Betting Tips: Pick the Gold Coast to be victorious at $2.30 (bet365, Unibet)

Also pick them to score first.

Other Betting Tips: Pick all of Redlands United, Peninsula Power, Brisbane Roar Youth and Gold Coast Knights to be victorious in their respective fixtures.
