APIA Leichardt FC

APIA Leichardt FC vs Sydney United 58 FC

7:00PM/ FRI 9 OCT @ Lambert Park

Sydney United 58 FC

Last RD- APIA are currently dead last with just 2 wins from 10 games. They have a massive 7 losses so far on the season. As for Sydney, they’ve claimed 6 from 9, as they sit in 4th spot. They have also only 3 losses this campaign. APIA have scored 11 and leaked 23 goals, with a poor GD of -12. For Sydney, they’ve produced 20 goals and leaked 17. Good for a GD of +3. There is a fair difference between these two sides. Will that be reflected in Friday nights clash?

APIA’s last game saw them lose heavily 3-0 to Blacktown City, at Lily Holmes Stadium. They conceded a double to Berry and one to Jalloh, in what was a poor performance from them. Their two yellows of the game were handed out to Parisi and Payne respectively. Prior to that, they also lost 3-2 to Rockdale. That was seemingly a much better performance than that of what they just produced. If they want to get of the bottom of the ladder, then they simply have to do better! For Sydney, their latest match was a 5-1 humbling at the hands of Blacktown City. The route occurred at Lily Homes Stadium, two rounds ago. Their sole goal came via Antelmi. Whilst they leaked strikes to Jennings X3, Desilva X1 and Collins X1. Antelmi also conceded their only yellow of the game. Blacktown also had only one as well.

Key Facts- APIA were founded in 1954. Whilst in the NSW version of the NPL, they’ve been Premiers five times and won the Championship on six occasions. Whilst for Sydney United 58 FC, they were formed in 1958. And they’ve been NPL Champs twice. Both these clubs are among the more illustrious and historical in NSW. From Leichardt’s last 5 games, they’ve won only 1. The other 4 being defeats! As for Sydney United, their latest 5 matches have seen them win 3. With the other 2 being a draw and a loss each.

Key Player- Sydney United 58 FC, as expected, should win this game comfortably by a couple of goals. So as a result of that, you can expect Patrick Antelmi to be heavily involved within all the attacking action for his side. He scored a goal last weekend, and has 7 on the season. A stat which puts him 2nd highest outright in this seasons competition. If he finishes of the chances he should get, he should end the game with 2+ goals to his name. He’s been lethal all campaign long and coming up against a defensively-leaky APIA side will be the best possible news to his ears. He’ll be ready to kill them of with his fine finishing ability. He should be one of the major reasons that APIA suffer defeat in this clash.

Betting Tips- Pick Sydney United to be victorious at $1.60 (bet365)

Blacktown City FC

Blacktown City FC vs Western Sydney Wanderers FC

7:30PM/ FRI 9 OCT @ Lily Homes Stadium

Western Sydney Wanderers FC

Last RD- Blacktown are currently 7th on the ladder, with 3 wins, 3 draws and 4 losses, from 10 games this campaign. Whilst Western Sydney are in 10th position. From 10 matches so far, they have just 2 wins, 2 draws and 6 losses. Blacktown have scored 14 and leaked 13 goals so far. And those numbers for the Wanderers are 12 and 17 respectively. Blacktown have 12 competition points and the Wanderers 8. Will Western Sydney make a game of it? Or will Blacktown take it out with relative ease?

Blacktown’s latest match was an absolute master-class in which they thoroughly destroyed APIA, 3 goals to 0, at home (Lily Homes Stadium). They scored a double via Berry. And one to Jalloh as well. They also received no cautions throughout the match either. And before that, they thrashed Sydney United 58 FC 5-1, also at home. In that encounter, Jennings scored three goals, Desilva once and Collins the once as well. The only goal Sydney produced was through Antelmi. Outside of that, Blacktown received just the one caution (Collins), as did Sydney. For the Wanderers, their latest effort was a 1-0 defeat to Sydney Olympic FC. A match played out at Lambert Park. The only goal of the match was scored through Madonis. Western Sydney’s only yellow was via Taay. Whilst in comparison, the opposition conceded 2 yellows.

Key Facts- Blacktown were formed in 1953. And they’ve won the NPL once. While for the Wanderers, they were founded in 2012 and have 0 NPL titles so far. But they do have a great youth development system on the other-hand! For Blacktown, out of their last 5 games, they’ve been victorious in 3 of them. With the other 2 being a draw and a loss. From the Wanderers last 5 games, they’ve won 2 of 5. The other 3 are all defeats.

Key Player- If Western Sydney are to have any hope of winning this match, then Rory Jordan and Ali Auglah both need to be on target in this clash. They each have 3X goals this season, which tops the Wanderers goal-scoring charts. And at various points during the campaign to date, the Wanderers have massively struggled for goals and most fans could see that happening again against Blacktown. Which makes it particularly crucial that the pair steps up to the plate this game. If the Wanderers are to have any hope of getting something out of the match, then these two lads need to be heavily involved.

Betting Tips- Pick Blacktown City FC to be victorious at $1.66 (bet365)

Other Betting Tips- Pick each of Marconi Stallions at $2.50 (bet365), Sydney Olympic FC at $1.53 (bet365), Wollongong at $1.50 (bet365) and Rockdale at $1.53 (bet365) to win their respective fixtures.
