Peninsula Power

Peninsula Power vs Eastern Suburbs

6:30PM/ SAT 17 OCT @ AJ Kelly Park

Eastern Suburbs

Last RD- The Power are currently 3rd, as they have won an impressive 13 of their 18 games so far this season. They’ve also drawn 1 and lost 4. They have scored 34 goals so far and conceded just 21. And on 40 points, they are = 2nd and just one win of top spot. As for the Eastern Suburbs, they are all the way down in 11th currently, having only won 3 times from 18 games so far this campaign. They’ve also drawn 8, which is the most outright in the comp and been defeated on 7 occasions. They’ve banged in 32 goals this season, but also conceded 35. And on 17 points, they’re just 1 of the bottom of the ladder. Suffice to say they need to do something here! The Power’s last game saw them win 2-1 over Gold Coast United, at AJ Kelly Park. Whilst for the Eastern Suburbs, they lost 2-1 to Redlands United, at Compass Ground 1. The Powers goals game through Plummer (45th min) and Strickland (75th min), whilst they received only 2 cautions throughout the match. For the Eastern Suburbs, their only goal came through Poljak in the 50th min. Whilst they received also 2 yellows throughout the match.

Key Stats/ Facts- The Power have won 3 of their past 5 games, with also both a draw and a loss in there. For the Eastern Suburbs, they’ve had 3 draws and 2 losses. The Power literally have all the power headed into this clash (no pun intended).

Betting Tip- Bet on the Power to be victorious at $1.36 (Bet365)

Gold Coast Knights

Gold Coast Knights vs Lions FC

6:30PM/ SAT 17 OCT @ Croatian Sports Centre

Lions FC

Last RD- The Knights are currently 4th, having won 9 of their 18 games so far this season. Outside of that, they have 6 draws and 3 losses to their name. They’ve produced an impressive 38 goals, whilst also leaking 22. They are 6 points ahead of the Brisbane Roar in 5th place, 33 vs 27. A win here would be amazing for them for obvious reasons! As for the Lions, just like their namesake, they are tearing things apart at the moment. In 2nd place, they’ve won 12 of their 19 games so far this season. Also with 3 draws and 4 losses. They’ve scored an amazing 59 goals! And only conceded 18. And on 40 points, they’re just a single win of the top spot. The Knights last game was a 4-2 defeat to Moreton Bay, at Walter Park. Their goals were produced via Prasad in the 23rd min and a 50th min spot-kick through Sawyer. And they only gave up 2 yellows during the game. While for the Lions, they had the bye last round. Prior to that at John Fredericks Park, they thrashed Capalaba, 3 goals to nil. The goals came from Farina in the 8th and 58th mins and Duckworth in the 65th min. And they gave up no yellows throughout the duration of the match.

Key Stats/ Facts- The Knights have won 2 of their past 5 clashes. The other 3 games have been a draw and 2 defeats. While for the Lions, they’ve obviously been top-notch, with 4 of their 5 being wins. The other was a defeat. The prospects here for the Gold Coast are looking pretty bleak at the moment! It would in all honesty take a minor miracle for them to win this clash.

Betting Tip- Bet on the Lions to be victorious at $1.75 (Bet365)

Other Betting Tips- Pick all of the Strikers $2.30, Moreton Bay $1.50, Brisbane City $2.60 and Capalba to win their respective fixtures (all Bet365)
