Unibet – Race Comments:

Race 1:
FASHCHANEL (10) Landed the spoils when winning last run at Randwick and suited by the weight drop. Shows good early pace. Worth an investment. PROFIT (6) Had a break from racing and returns to competition. Out of character when 12th at Gold Coast. Should improve and finishes off strongly. Should go well. LUVOIR (5) Left nothing to chance when winning three runs back at Hawkesbury and dropping in grade. Should race on the speed. Must respect. GRAND PIANO (2) Third up from a break. Ran on into 5th last time at Gosford but goes up in weight. Looks a great place bet.

Race 2:
SUPERIUM (9) Charged home into 3rd last run at Doomben and will be aiming for a soft run from the draw. Displays good closing speed. Will go well. KORDIA (8) Dashed home into 2nd two runs back at Randwick but fresh from a spell. Should land a nice spot just off the speed. Top prospects against this opposition. DR WHY NOT (7) Brave effort to win two runs back at the track and goes down in weight. Shows good early pace. Suitably placed in this race. BEACHBREAK (14) Chimed in with a win two runs back at Doomben and can go through the gears. Capable of a place and a good chance.

Race 3:
AYRTON (9) Scored a victory last start at Caulfield and expecting to settle positively. Looks a strong winning hope. EXOBOOM (7) Game effort to win two runs back at Hawkesbury. Should land a nice spot just off the speed. Key hope. APACHE CHASE (3) Nice effort when winning two runs back at this track and easy to come into at this trip. Chance. COUNT DE RUPEE (8) Third up. Left nothing to chance when winning last time at Rosehill but racing in stronger company. Multiples hope.

Race 4:
HOMESMAN (1) Second up from a break. Fought on gamely when winning two runs back at Flemington and drops back to a suitable grade. Better claims. SO YOU WIN (11) Did its best work late when 2nd last time at Doomben and suited at this distance in the past. Better claims. VANNA GIRL (6) Finished on top three runs back at Doomben and dropping in class. Possesses very good closing speed. Each way prospects. LAURE ME IN (8) Scored a victory last start at Scone and displays very good finishing speed. Strong each way bet.

Race 5:
LE DON DE VIE (2) Handy enough when winning last run at Warrnambool. Should muster plenty of early toe. Big chance. RONDINELLA (6) Let up. Did its best work late when 2nd last run at Randwick but up in weight today. Can feature. SPIRIT RIDGE (3) Good show placing 2nd last start at Wagga and carrying less weight this time. Will go well. PATHS OF GLORY (7) Got the upper hand late when winning two runs back at Randwick. Not the worst in this field.

Race 6:
PRINCE OF BOOM (3) Was first to greet the judge when winning last time at Doomben. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Looks very sharp this preparation with 2 wins from as many starts. Ticks plenty of boxes and looks like value. RANCH HAND (7) Displayed good finishing speed when 2nd last run at Gold Coast and likely to race off the speed. Key player. PORT LOUIS (10) Rattled home nicely into 2nd two runs back at Canterbury and will appreciate the drop in class. Might take a while to wind up but should be hitting top gear in the straight. Sound chances. OVERPASS (8) Won last time at Gosford but racing in stronger company today. Should race just behind the speed. Looks to be the value.

Race 7:
EXPLOSIVE JACK (1) Bold effort to win last start at Morphettville and displays very good closing speed. Tracking very well this preparation. Looks suited and must be respected. SENOR TOBA (9) Handy enough when winning two runs back at Randwick but rising in grade. Can go through the gears. No surprise to see a forward showing and one of the main hopes in this race. LET’S KARAKA DEEL (2) Hit the line well when 2nd last run at Morphettville. Will be hitting the line strongly. Can take this out. KUKERACHA (3) Charged home into 2nd last time at Doomben and drawn nicely. Some place claims.

Race 8:
SAVATIANO (13) Fought on well to win two runs back at Randwick and easy to come into at this distance. Has good tactical speed and will be nicely positioned. Has genuine claims in this race. GYTRASH (2) Having second run back from a break. Brave effort to win two runs back at Rosehill but up in class. Definite winning chance. TREKKING (1) Jumped at $12 and ran 5th last time at Doomben but generally strong third up. Should enjoy a cosy run off the pace. One of the chances. SAVATOXL (3) Left nothing to chance when winning last time at Morphettville but goes up in weight today. Very tidy this campaign winning 2 from 3 attempts. Maybe for the trifectas and a marginal hope.

Race 9:
SWEET DEAL (3) Scored a victory last run at Hawkesbury. Should get a lovely cart into it from just behind the leaders. Can give this a shake. LYRE (10) Displayed good finishing speed when 2nd two runs back at Caulfield and going down in grade. Tracking very well this preparation. Possesses very good finishing speed. Place hope. MADAM ROUGE (1) First up. Snuck in a place when 2nd three runs back at Rosehill and easy to come into at this distance. Should be competitive in this race at a bit of odds. ATHIRI (6) Dashed home into 2nd three runs back at Gold Coast and third up from a spell. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Exotics chance.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 1:
Three straight weeks of Group 1 racing coming up at Eagle Farm kicks off this Saturday highlighted by the running of the Queensland Derby, the Kingsford-Smith Cup & the Sires Produce. Weather – perfect, track – good, rail – true. The day begins with a Class 6 Plate where only nos.10, 9 & 5 have shown any on-paced tendencies to date. SUPERIUM draws well & can park better than midfield, the run behind Axe at Doomben was a good one closing solidly in a real sprint home affair. Big weight drop for FASHCHANEL who gets Jamie Kah, likely to take plenty of running down. Nos.4, 5 & 12 all in the mix.
Selections: 8. Superium (Top Tip – SCRATCHED), 10. Fashchanel, 12. Maozi, 4. Wonderful Riri (SCRATCHED)

Race 2:
9, 14 & 15 all dual acceptors, at this early stage not sure which races they’re heading to as yet. Pace from nos.7 & 15 with a few others also in the mix to go forward. Tipped SUPERIUM in the opening race where I like him at 1400m, should he happen to go around in this one over 1200m I’m still of the opinion he’ll be tough to beat particularly thanks to the rails draw. DR WHY NOT has been in sterling form all prep, if able to get across ok early (and he should) then expect him to give another bold sight. Respecting KORDIA whilst the Edmonds mare BEACHBREAK can run a race fresh.
Selections: 9. Superium (Top Tip), 7. Dr Why Not, 8. Kordia, 14. Beachbreak

Race 3:
Well, plenty of interest around this race! The reigning Stradbroke favourite AYRTON needs to win here to even make the field, think he will…! Apache Chase leads with Holyfield, Midland & Ayrton the other on pacers, he’ll park in the first 4. His wins down south have all been impressive, his last couple have been under no real pressure suggesting there’s plenty in the tank should he need it. APACHE CHASE was outstanding in the Guineas, set a cracking pace up front was beaten only by the winner, just loves this track & trip, don’t underestimate. COUNT DE RUPEE very consistent overall, include
Selections: 9. Ayrton (Best of the Day), 3. Apache Chase, 8. Count De Rupee, 7. Exoboom

Race 4:
Australian Cup winner Homesman comes into this off a slight freshen & should push on early, expecting 2 & 3 to also go forward. Have him on top HOMESMAN, able to sit wide & win at Flemington however those tactics didn’t pan out in the Hollindale, not sure what they’ll come up with here however he’s got lengths on his rivals class wise. Looking for a much better run from HANG MAN, he wasn’t far away at Doomben on soft ground which is not his go, firmer surface here will suit. SO YOU WIN looked the winner before Warning arrived at Doomben, also rates amongst the chances.
Selections: 1. Homesman (Top Tip), 4. Hang Man, 11. So You Win, 8. Laure Me In

Race 5:
Last start winner Le Don De Vie should race up on the lead here with Spirit Ridge also a chance, doesn’t look to be a great deal of pace amongst the others however these distance races can surprise, stack of interstate staying form makes it even tougher. Although poorly drawn I’ll go with RONDINELLA who likely can sneak on for J Mac & find a spot early. Runner up in both the Chairman’s & the Sydney Cup she should be suited by the drop back to 2200m off 6 weeks. Should Le Don De Vie bring his ‘Bool’ form to Eagle Farm he’ll figure in the finish, SPIRIT RIDGE a chance also.
Selections: 6. Rondinella (Top Tip), 2. Le Don De Vie, 3. Spirit Ridge, 4. Brimham Rocks

Race 6:
Expecting early pressure in the Sires’ with 4, 8 & 15 all pushing on, 2 not far off, will Miss Hipstar press forward from her wide draw? Can Prince Of Boom get in from his? Chances everywhere, rough result wouldn’t surprise. Throw at the stumps with TIGER OF MALAY, he just caught my eye late in the race at Doomben when after a wide trip he still found the line solidly late, form down south ok forgive the Sires run. Should PRINCE OF BOOM get in or gain cover he’ll be awfully hard to beat, dominant both wins looks a terrific type with a decent sprint! Another roughie INVINSIBLE TEARS in the mix.
Selections: 6. Tiger Of Malay (Top Tip), 3. Prince Of Boom, 16. Invinsible Tears, 9. Tiger Heart

Race 7:
Take the favourite Explosive Jack out & we have quite an open looking Derby, note 6 from the Waller yard, 3 from the Maher/Eustace camp. Maranoa leads on my map with 4 & 11 next, not sure where 18 goes? Loved the run of SENOR TOBA in the Rough Habit & he’s the one with improvement to come, unfortunately he’s drawn the extreme outside BUT he was always going to get back. He’ll love Eagle Farm, lap up 2400m & I’m throwing the wide gate out the window! Can’t knock EXPLOSIVE JACK, he’s covered plenty of territory however keeps turning up. FORTIFIED a ‘roughie’ with a chance, flying in easier races
Selections: 9. Senor Toba (Value Bet), 1. Explosive Jack, 14. Fortified, 2. Let’s Karaka Deel

Race 8:
Jonker & Savatoxl the speed & should pair out from the jump, map suggests Savatiano can cross & may even drop onto the rail behind the leader, if not then one out is likely. That being the case & with strong Group 1 form this prep she gets the nod SAVATIANO, she went within an eyelash of being unbeaten all three autumn outings when somehow outgunned in the All Aged when looking home. Stable mate TREKKING is ready, peaked 100m out in the Victory, even later in the 10,000, now gets a firm track. Hard to fault NICCANOVA’s form here at HQ, will be closing strongly. the maligned KEMENTARI can place
Selections: 13. Savatiano (Top Tip), 1. Trekking, 8. Niccanova, 5. Kementari

Race 9:
Cracking field of fillies & mares to go around in the closer, definite chance to ‘get out’ if need be the case! No strong speed on the map however get the feeling with the capacity line up they will run along early. Where to look…? WONDERFUL RIRI has been in stellar form since joining the O’Dea/Hoysted yard, kept fresh for this (she races best that way) expect a strong finishing burst. Ditto MAOZI who was on the wrong part of the track down the straight at Doomben. ATHIRI can surely bounce back, that clearly wasn’t her we saw at Doomben after having no luck first up.
Selections: 13. Wonderful Riri (Top Tip), 14. Maozi (SCRATCHED), 6. Athiri, 1. Madam Rouge (2)
