Unibet – Race Comments:

Race 1:
MASERARTIE BAY (3) Did its best work late when 2nd three runs back at Flemington and gets a favourable barrier. Should enjoy a cosy run off the pace. Could pose a threat and expected to go very close. ROYAL CROWN (2) Backs up quickly today. Was all too good winning three runs back at Werribee but carrying more weight than last time. Capable of getting into the money. REFLECT THE STARS (7) Third up. Lost ground in the run home when 7th last run around here. Gets in nicely but facing a stronger class. Can give this a shake. CAKEWALK BABY (8) Nice show placing 2nd last time at Flemington but up against stronger competition. Finishes off strongly. Can feature.

Race 2:
GREAT AGAIN (1) Was competitive when 2nd three runs back at Flemington and let up. Trainer has gone for the blinkers on, take note. Classy enough for this field and is one of the major players. KING MAGNUS (7) Fought on well to win last time at this track and will appreciate the drop in weight. Shows very good closing speed. Ticks plenty of boxes and looks like value. THE INEVITABLE (3) Jumped at $7 and average effort when beaten 3.85L around here last run on a good surface. Looks well placed against these and back from a freshen up. Drawn to sit just in behind the speed. Major player. DARK DREAM (2) Fresh after a break. Well beaten when 11th at Sha Tin. Gets in nicely. Must come into consideration.

Race 3:
SUNFALL (1) Having second run back from a spell. Bold effort to win last run at Geelong but up against stronger competition today. Looks well suited in this race. CHERRYPICK (10) Dashed home into 3rd last start here and having second career run. Has to be included. REGULUS (5) Put in a competitive run when placing 3rd last start at Flemington and having second run today. Respect. REYNAIRE (4) Was fighting out the finish when winning last run at Ballarat but up against stronger competition. At least a place chance.

Race 4:
MISS ALBANIA (6) Solid effort when winning two runs back at this course and shows good early pace. Will take some beating today. LA MEXICANA (1) Should be ready to fire fresh with 2 wins from 3 starts. Landed the spoils when winning last run at this venue. Top prospects against this opposition. KALKARNI ROYALE (3) Fought on well to win last run at Flemington and tracking very well this campaign. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Should be very competitive and is a genuine threat. ABSOLUTE FLIRT (2) Having second run back from a break. Really dug deep when winning last run at this venue. Has scope so do not ignore.

Race 5:
AND BEYOND (4) Fought on gamely when winning last start at Devonport and should race just behind the speed. Hasn’t put a foot wrong this campaign with 2 wins from 2 starts. Will be in the finish. SCANTOON (8) Did enough to win two runs back at Sandown but rises in weight. Worth a bet. PROMOTIONS (18) Solid run on the pace before weakening to finish 2nd last start at Sandown and gets some weight relief. Has the ability to take this out. CHASSIS (5) Really dug deep when winning last run at Flemington and racing again inside a week. Tracking very well this preparation. Not without claims.

Race 6:
TOKEN SPIRIT (1) Was rock solid when winning last run at Flemington. Possesses good finishing speed. Key player. MURRUMBIDGEE RIVER (3) Had a comfortable win two runs back at Ballarat and gets a reduction in weight. Should land a nice spot just off the speed. Ready to win. CAPRICORN RIDGE (4) Had a comfortable win last start at Ballarat and will appreciate the drop in weight. No shock to see a win. ZA’EX (7) Third up from a break. Game effort to win two runs back at Pakenham. Among the chances.

Race 7:
THE BIG EASY (2) Won narrowly last time at Rosehill and always seems to find the line well. Has run into the money 7 from 10 attempts this campaign. Worth consideration. SACRED PALACE (4) Did enough to win two runs back at Bendigo. Can take this out. STRIPPED BACK (9) Having second run back from a spell. Landed the spoils when winning two runs back at Ararat and gets a reduction in weight. Should just about get the run of the race. Hard to knock and looks a nice each way proposition. THE GARDEN (11) Having second run back from a break. Bold effort to win last run at Geelong and will benefit with the weight drop. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Underrated.

Race 8:
RED CAN MAN (5) Third up today. Won narrowly last run here and hard to fault at the trip. Among the major players. VIRIDINE (2) Charged home into 3rd two runs back at Randwick. Shows very good closing speed. Winning chance in this line up. ISAURIAN (7) Hit the line well when 3rd two runs back at Eagle Farm and second up from a break. Should just about get the run of the race. Can figure. THE ASTROLOGIST (9) Fought on gamely when winning last run at Flemington and likely to be well placed early. Has won 2 from 4 starts this preparation. Deserves consideration.

Race 9:
ZESTY BELLE (6) Second up. Flashed home late into 2nd last time around here and will appreciate the drop in weight. Winnable race. SUGARTOWN (12) Ran 3rd last start here. Very competitive this preparation. Better claims. ZOU DANCER (1) Won by a huge margin two runs back at Flemington and expecting to settle positively. Capable of getting into the money. BUBBLY LASS (8) Won narrowly three runs back at Warrnambool and will benefit with the weight drop. Should be swooping on the field late. Watch market moves closely.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 1:
NOTE: Rail is 4m. Was true here last meeting and most avoided inside rail but sweeping home out wide was no advantage either. SPEED: 5 may lead if they back-up from Wednesday with 7,3 taking trails. MASERATIE BAY was terrific at Flemington given the wide run then didn’t finish off back in trip in Sydney. 1st (Steely) and 4th (Harpo Marx) have both since won (very well) and he now gets to 2400m, a trip he is unbeaten at. MAHAMEDEIS can hit back hard here ridden colder. ROYAL CROWN on back-up back to 2412m are pluses. Filly CAKEWALK BABY hit line hard last time and the race rated well.
Selections: 3. Maserartie Bay (Top Tip), 8. Cakewalk Baby, 2. Royal Crown, 1. Mahamedeis

Race 2:
SPEED: 1 may lead 4, 5, 6 and even 8 looking to be handy. GREAT AGAIN was a good risk back at 1000m last time as it turns out, he has won at 1400m. DARK DREAM creates interest back on Australian soil. Easy to like his recent trial win! THE INEVITABLE had task here fresh vs track pattern, If he finds that Silver Eagle form (win over Fasika/Mizzy) he wins this race! KING MAGNUS stays down in weights off a neat win here. VIRAL has relative weights swing and can settle closer so has a case against him. WHY CHOOSE HER ran on nicely last week. If she jumps clean, she can take nice trail here, and win.
Selections: 3. The Inevitable (Top Tip), 1. Great Again, 8. Why Choose Her, 7. King Magnus

Race 3:
SUNFALL returned at Geelong on soft 7 and won very well, in fact, his 34.64 last 600m was (clear) fastest of any runner all day and he easily beat one who was then close up with today’s key rivals in the UMGAWA race. REYNAIRE beat a well backed debutant to 1200m at Ballarat. REGULUS quickened nicely on debut, he will win races! POUNDING gets to 1400m quickly but was good fresh and only beaten four lengths in the VRC Sires! Stablemate CHERRYPICK just missed here on debut and is also quickly to 1400m.
Selections: 1. Sunfall (Top Tip), 10. Cherrypick, 6. Pounding, 5. Regulus

Race 4:
SPEED: 6 may lead 1 with 7,8,2 handy. MISS ALBANIA has won a couple of jump outs (well) for her return, at the end of last prep she led here and just couldn’t hold off LA MEXICANA however, she has an 8kg swing on her this time. La Mexicana has also jumped out well, she is a class act. As is ABSOLUTE FLIRT who not only won (well) fresh and was a close-up 3rd behind the above mentioned two here on Aust Day. PROPELLE ran 7th in Monash Stks but was race-fastest home Vs race-shape. PLAQUETTE had bit against last time in Absolute Flirt race. KALKARNI ROYALE is a ripper.
Selections: 6. Miss Albania (Best of the Day), 1. La Mexicana, 2. Absolute Flirt, 4. Propelle

Race 5:
SPEED: 14,2 look leaders from 8,17 but many others can be handy. AND BEYOND is unbeaten and the only time we saw him on the mainland he beat the smart Curran. CHASSIS beat a quality field last week in good time. SCANTOON measured up well into BM84 class latest and should get good trail. SEBERATE is going MUCH better than the form guide says, he is my best roughie. SESSIONS ROAD beat last weeks winner Yulong Storm latest, at just start four. WICKLOW TOWN, JITTERY JACK (any bias?), MISTER DYNAMIX head stack of others I can make a case for…
Selections: 4. And Beyond (Top Tip), 17. Sessions Road, 5. Chassis, 10. Seberate

Race 6:
SPEED: 6, 8, 12 & 5 go forward? TOKEN SPIRIT impressed at Flemington. He put the race away very quickly and is only up half a kilo here but does lose Jamie Kah for an in-form apprentice. ZA’EX and CRU CLASSE both closed off well here last time in a race where it was better to be handy. MURRUMBIDGEE RIVER is quickly to 2400m at start three but his trainers have a fair idea what they are doing. He looks promising! CAPRICORN RIDGE put up a big figure on wet last time. VINTAGE DIESEL is also flying on wet tracks.
Selections: 1. Token Spirit (Top Tip), 7. Za’ex, 10. Cru Classe, 3. Murrumbidgee River

Race 7:
No mad speed here on paper. IMPERIAL HILTON was not in A-spot here latest, he bolted in prior in Adelaide at 1250m. THE BIG EASY ran down a subsequent impressive winner at Rosehill latest. DICKIN MEDAL was close-up here in Deep Speed race with SACRED PALACE running by him late. Second was All Of Brighton which ties form in with The Big Easy and Co. DUKE OF NEWORLEANS impressed at Sale. HICKOK was terrific last week, back to 1200m?
Selections: 2. The Big Easy (Top Tip), 4. Sacred Palace, 1. Imperial Hilton, 8. Hickok

Race 8:
SPEED: 9, 1, 5, 12 mainly. STREETS OF AVALON won WFA Australia Stks fresh last prep beating VIRIDINE and has trialled well for his return. Worth noting he’s never won on wet ground (but ran enormous in All-Star Mile on soft 6 at end of last prep). Viridine is going well and closed off nicely in Monash Stks, a race of little change. RED CAN MAN won that Monash and wasn’t far off THE ASTROLOGIST prior. At WFA he meets that horse 4kg better. ORDER OF COMMAND had excuses that race. I AM SOMEONE best blowout? SANSOM was a solid 2.1L 4th this race last year to Viridine/Streets of Avalon.
Selections: 1. Streets Of Avalon (Value Bet), 2. Viridine, 5. Red Can Man, 9. The Astrologist

Race 9:
SPEED good! ZOU DANCER has a real touch of class and has jumped out very well for her return, stable say she will be fitter but she can still beat these with 59kg. Gate? BELSIELLE has well-ridden to beat ZESTY BELLE (clear best closer) and SUGARTOWN (3-wide/ good) here latest and race rated highly. Zesty Belle has little weight swing and did beat smart Malicorne 2nd-up last prep. at 1200m. BUBBLY LASS has charged home her last two against track bias, in latest she was 1.5L off Hai Sun who was then no match for aforementioned trifecta here. ELIDI is talented. SAFE PASSAGE & CONTINUANCE best blow-outs?
Selections: 6. Zesty Belle (Top Tip), 12. Sugartown, 1. Zou Dancer, 8. Bubbly Lass
