Unibet – Race Comments:

Race 1:
TOORADIN (3) Peaked on the run when 2nd last time at Flemington and will appreciate the drop in weight. Should muster plenty of early speed. Looks promising. HEIR TO THE THRONE (4) Fought on well to win last start at Sandown and gets some weight relief. Shows good closing speed. Big chance. BEDFORD (2) Dashed home into 3rd last run at Moonee Valley but rising in weight. Interesting gear change of blinkers off first time. Suitably placed in this race. MAHAMEDEIS (1) Backs up quickly today. Fought on well to win two runs back at Moonee Valley. Among the major players.

Race 2:
DEEP SPEED (8) Third up from a break. Won narrowly two runs back at this venue and drops back to a suitable grade. Has the ability to figure. THE GAUCH (5) Brave effort to win last time at this course but first up after a break. Should land a nice spot just off the speed. Looks promising in this race. OUR WIND SPIRIT (10) Snuck in a place when 2nd last run at this track. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Not without claims. DESTINATION (3) Chimed in with a win last run at Randwick but rising in weight. Likely to race off the speed. Won’t be far away and represents an each way player.

Race 3:
TURAATH (7) Shot away to win last time at Flemington but facing a stronger class today. Can dominate and win. ANNAVISTO (2) Left nothing to chance when winning two runs back here and likely to be well placed early. Big chance. GALGANI (8) Finished 2nd last run at Flemington and should race on the speed. Looks a value runner. GOOD AND PROPER (5) Resuming from spell. Game effort to win last time at Flemington and proven runner at this trip. Marginal chance.

Race 4:
ARTORIUS (1) Handy enough when winning two runs back here and displays good finishing speed. Well suited and should prove hard to beat. GENERAL BEAU (2) Having second run back from a spell. Fought on gamely when winning three runs back around here and drawn beautifully. Should muster plenty of early speed. Main hope. HERESY (9) Fought on well to win two runs back at Morphettville and finishes off strongly. Will be in the finish. MR MOZART (5) Second up from a spell. Left nothing to chance when winning three runs back at Warwick Farm. Winnable race.

Race 5:
MASKED CRUSADER (1) Should be ready to fire fresh with 2 wins from 4 runs. Good win three runs back at Moonee Valley and going down in class. Might take a while to wind up but should be hitting top gear in the straight. Going good enough to win this and a clear top pick. OXLEY ROAD (4) Did enough to win three runs back at this course and won’t be far away during the run. Likely threat. AMISH BOY (6) Snuck in a place when 3rd two runs back at Eagle Farm and shows very good closing speed. Honest enough to be an each way player. CROSSHAVEN (3) Fought on well to win three runs back at Flemington and displays good tactical speed. Interesting gear change of blinkers off first time. Each way prospects.

Race 6:
PROBABEEL (1) Fought on well to win three runs back at this course but first up today. Will be looking to sit just behind the pace. Will take some beating today. INSTANT CELEBRITY (2) Winner two runs back at Morphettville and possesses very good closing speed. Classy enough for this field and is one of the major players. LA MEXICANA (3) Third up today. Got the cash when winning three runs back here but going up in weight. Market watch advised. RICH HIPS (4) Should be ready to fire fresh with 3 wins from 4 starts. Ended up 6L from the winner at Randwick last start on a soft surface and might be ridden for luck. Some place claims.

Race 7:
ANGEL OF TRUTH (2) Nice effort to run into 2nd last run at this venue and second up from a break. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Will be competitive. BARTHOLOMEU DIAS (12) Landed the spoils when winning last time at Flemington and freshened up. Drawn to sit just in behind the speed. Right in the thick of it and is a major player. ZIEGFELD (7) Nice run when 2nd two runs back at Rosehill and will appreciate the drop in weight. Should race on the speed. Can’t be left out of exotics. TRALEE ROSE (9) First up from a spell. Won by a huge margin two runs back at Morphettville but back in trip. Looks a value runner.

Race 8:
BEHEMOTH (2) Having second run back from a break. Won narrowly last start at Morphettville and strong performer at this distance in the past. Looks well suited in this race. TOFANE (10) Was all too good winning last run at Eagle Farm and going well this campaign. Finishes off strongly. One of the top hopes. INSPIRATIONAL GIRL (11) First up specialist with 2 wins from 3 runs. Was first to greet the judge when winning two runs back at Ascot and displays good finishing speed. Can give this a shake. BEAU ROSSA (8) Having third run back from a break. Won by a huge margin two runs back at Morphettville and can save some energy from the barrier. Could run into the placings.

Race 9:
AYRTON (11) Had a break from racing and returns to competition. Scored a victory last time at Eagle Farm. Should get a lovely cart into it from just behind the leaders. Looks suited and should just win this. GROUNDSWELL (1) Got the upper hand late when winning last time at Flemington and expecting to settle positively. Exotics hope in this event. FROSTY ROCKS (3) Finished on top last start at Kembla Grange and shows good early pace. Going well this preparation winning 2 from as many starts. Looks a good chance of finishing in the money. REGARDSMAREE (10) Fought on gamely when winning three runs back at Flemington but might be ridden for luck. Solid place bet prospects.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 1:
NOTE: Rail is back true. We had 8m rail here last meeting and there was no bias evident. Last true rail was July 10 and most avoided inside rail that day. TOORADIN is having his first go 2400m but there is no reason to doubt him at the trip, there was strength to his closing fractions last start where he made a promising one really work to beat him. He drops in weight now. He easily beat NERVE NOT VERVE who chased Smokin Romans last week, that’s the HEIR TO THE THRONE form. MAHAMEDEIS is proven at this trip, he was run off his feet last week in fast race but did beat BEDFORD home prior.
Selections: 3. Tooradin (Top Tip), 1. Mahamedeis, 4. Heir To The Throne, 2. Bedford

Race 2:
SPEED: 8, 13 with 3, 5 right there. 10, 11 handy. DESTINATION was back to something like his best last time back on dry. He had form around group-class 3YOs last year. ENFLEURAGE was well backed that same race (fresh) but had excuses and wilted. OUR WIND SPIRIT was month off into his last start here, missed the kick, ran home 11.16 last 200m, it was day’s fastest and he went by DIRTY THOUGHTS. Ocular was behind them and ran well last week with Yulong Storm, who wasn’t far off DEEP SPEED at Flemington. Race rated better than the ZORRO’S DREAM race that day. THE GAUCH and MISS INBETWEEN can win.
Selections: 10. Our Wind Spirit (Value Bet), 8. Deep Speed, 12. Miss Inbetween, 3. Destination

Race 3:
SPEED: 8, 7 can lead 2, 4. TURAATH found driest track she had seen this prep (soft 5) at Flemington latest, sat up on a strong speed (+6.3L) yet raced away running faster time than borderline stakes-class male Groundswell on the day. GALGANI comes through a very similar formline and has no weight here. ANNAVISTO looked terrific in recent jumpout and is unbeaten fresh. ONLY WORDS is classy and 1400m suits fresh. PINYIN’s 1400m misses are inconclusive. LUNAKORN and GOOD AND PROPER both trialled nicely and have Quantum Mechanic form, which is easy to like.
Selections: 7. Turaath (Top Tip), 2. Annavisto, 8. Galgani, 5. Good And Proper

Race 4:
SPEED: 2, 4 from 3, 7, 8? ARTORIUS resumes and looked great in a recent trial. He was beaten on debut then produced two exceptional wins including, of course, a Blue Diamond here, running by Ingratiating and GENERAL BEAU. We saw Ingratiating return a winner recently beating General Beau and MR MOZART who measured up well off some neat trial form. LIGHTSABER was forgivable there and 1200m suits better. Filly HERESY went super fresh but that race rated significantly below the boys (Ingratiating et al).
Selections: 1. Artorius (Top Tip), 2. General Beau, 5. Mr Mozart, 9. Heresy

Race 5:
SPEED: 8 and 4 from 2, 10. MASKED CRUSADER became the horse we all (OK, not all) thought he would last prep (read: world class). Trials: exceptional. Clear top pick despite 60kg. The dangers might be the new-season 4YOs: POLAND won well fresh last prep. CROSSHAVEN placed in a G1 vs older horses at WFA fresh last prep and they’ve both beaten AMISH BOY. Amish Boy jumped out well with Ayrton and crossed the line with him in the Fred Best. OXLEY ROAD ”won” inside race at Flemington fresh. SPACEBOY can give a sight, form ties in KALKARNI ROYALE but she was no match for Oxley Road at Flemington.
Selections: 1. Masked Crusader (Best of the Day), 6. Amish Boy, 4. Oxley Road, 3. Crosshaven

Race 6:
SPEED: 10 from 3. PROBABEEL resumes and is simply better than mares class! She sat wide yet bolted in here fresh last prep then beat Arcadia Queen and Mr Quickie in a G1 Futurity. INSTANT CELEBRITY is a danger, she beat home Gytrash in a G1 Goodwood at the end of last prep and that tells me she has a bit on mares class also! PARLOPHONE covered ground last time yet still easily beat PAUL’S REGRET, who’ll be fitter and did run second to Probabeel here in Feb. LA MEXICANA was close-up last time in a good race against males. RICH HIPS won the Mannerism here fresh last prep.
Selections: 1. Probabeel (Top Tip), 2. Instant Celebrity, 9. Parlophone, 4. Rich Hips

Race 7:
SPEED: 10 & 15 may lead 7. ANGEL OF TRUTH was terrific fresh, charging late in Lawrence Stakes. He ran super here in Peter Young second up last prep, flying home in on-pace race. Wary DELPHI (trialled OK without raving). ROSTROPOVICH hit the line fresh. ZIEGFELD had slow recovery latest when well liked. TRALEE ROSE did win fresh last prep, she’s not out of this. NO EFFORT is so genuine. BARTHOLOMEU DIAS impressed fresh and ran time. MR MONEY BAGS not hopeless. TORYJOY is going well without much of anything going right of late, best roughie? Forget SCOTTISH DANCER’s latest. KINANE almost ready?
Selections: 2. Angel Of Truth (Top Tip), 15. Toryjoy, 12. Bartholomeu Dias, 7. Ziegfeld

Race 8:
SPEED: 3 leads 4, 5, 8? BEHEMOTH did great job to win (on protest, rightfully!) fresh beating BEAU ROSSA given the slow tempo. He (Behemoth) won this race (well) second up last year and has match-fitness on key rivals. TOFANE is unbeaten in 3 x 1400m runs, all at G1 level, all serious G1 performances ‘on the clock’ also. 9-weeks off the query. COLETTE is near unbeaten on tracks with give and won Apollo fresh last prep, beating Verry Elleegant! STREETS OF AVALON can hit back (lame last time). AEGON wasn’t far off Mo’unga in Doncaster. SIERRA SUE won Lawrence well. Keen to see INSPIRATIONAL GIRL, but long break?
Selections: 10. Tofane (Top Tip), 2. Behemoth, 9. Colette, 7. Aegon

Race 9:
SPEED: 1,3 & 15 like to lead. 4,7,8 handy? AYRTON is one of the most promising horses in this country. The way he quickened to win at the end of last prep is, well, reserved for the elite! GROUNDSWELL has to give him 5kg but he runs time from the front and won well latest when 9-weeks between runs. KING MAGNUS is flying and chased him hard there. KING OF HASTINGS and REGARDSMAREE get to 1400m which is key! SECRET BLAZE also wants 1400m big time. FROSTY ROCKS has come back super and that ties in GAULOIS.
Selections: 11. Ayrton (Top Tip), 6. Secret Blaze, 1. Groundswell, 7. King Of Hastings

Unibet – The Professor:

Race 6: Remarque (5.00) (win)

Unibet – Race Comments:

Race 1:
ARNAQUEUR (1) Second up. Brave effort to win last run around here but going up in weight. Fights on bravely so consider. DANZADEL (5) Came in 3rd last time at the track and drawn nicely. Should just about get the run of the race. Major hope. HURN COURT (4) Fought on gamely when winning last time at Muswellbrook but facing a stronger class today. Might take a while to wind up but should be hitting top gear in the straight. Looks to be the value. THE STORM IN ME (9) Solid win last time at Muswellbrook but up in class. Must come into consideration.

Race 2:
ROYALZEL (6) Bolted in when winning last run at Flemington and likely to race off the speed. Tracking very well this campaign. Looks a suitable field and easily up to these. EXCELTIC (2) Good win two runs back at Randwick and expected to be flashing home. Must respect. BOWERY BREEZE (5) Fought on gamely when winning two runs back at Warwick Farm and second up. Should be swooping on the field late. Worth a ticket. LORD ZOULANDER (4) Showed promise when winning three runs back at Randwick. Looks a good chance of finishing in the money.

Race 3:
STEEL DIAMOND (5) Did its best work late when 2nd last time at this course and gets a favourable draw. Should just about get the run of the race. One of the major players. ROCK MY WAND (11) Flew home into 3rd last time here. Likely to get a nice run behind the speed. Could go well. MAJELLA (9) Was all too good winning two runs back at Newcastle and on a short back up. Will be looking to sit just behind the pace. Can win. PENSATO (12) Third up. Kept chasing when 4th last run at the track. Can measure up to this company.

Race 4:
MANKAYAN (2) Second up. Displayed good finishing speed when 2nd last run at Flemington but rises in weight. Winning chance in this line up. LA CHEVALEE (3) Got the cash when winning two runs back at Randwick. Can surprise and by no means out of it. GREAT HOUSE (1) Caught the eye when 2nd two runs back at Randwick but faces a rise in trip. Been in the money 3 from 4 attempts this campaign. Can surprise and by no means out of it. GEMMAHRA (6) Really dug deep when winning two runs back at Randwick. Been in the money 7 from 9 attempts this preparation. Has claims.

Race 5:
COASTWATCH (2) Flew home into 2nd last run at this track and should race just behind the speed. Strong claims. MILITARY EXPERT (6) Was first to greet the judge when winning last time at Newcastle and gets some weight taken off today. Shows good early pace. One of the major hopes. ARNAQUEUR (3) Second up. Fought on well to win last run at the track and goes down in weight. Must respect in this event. SUBTERRANEAN (1) Hit the line well when 4th last time at this track and second up from a break. Might take a while to wind up but should be hitting top gear in the straight. One of the major players.

Race 6:
STAY INSIDE (1) Handy enough when winning last time at Rosehill but resuming. Should get a lovely cart into it from just behind the pace. Goes close. PAULELE (4) Was first to greet the judge when winning last time at Randwick and second up. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Winnable race. REMARQUE (6) Second up from a break. Bold effort to win three runs back at Rosehill and can find a nice position from the draw. Likely threat. IN THE CONGO (8) Got the cash when winning three runs back at Randwick but facing a stronger class. Each way prospects.

Race 7:
HEART OF PUISSANCE (13) Made no mistakes when winning last run at Flemington but resuming after a spell. Interesting to see the blinkers go off for the first time. Big chance. DASHING WILLOUGHBY (2) First up specialist with 2 wins from 3 attempts. Was over 19L from the winner at Flemington last time on a good track. Should improve but hoping that the added weight won’t hurt. One of the main dangers. HARPO MARX (12) Good win last time at Randwick and goes down in weight. Expected to be flashing home. Winning chance in this line up. SPIRIT RIDGE (1) Fought on well to win two runs back at Eagle Farm but resumes from a spell. Should land a nice spot just off the speed. Chance in this field so include in exotics.

Race 8:
KING OF SPARTA (8) Blitzed its rivals when winning last start at this track but up against stronger competition. Very competitive this preparation. Expect a solid run and the one to catch. TYCOONIST (7) Was competitive when 3rd last run at Randwick and has plenty of early speed. Been in the money 6 from 7 attempts this campaign. Likely threat. TRIPLE ACE (2) Fought on well to win last start at Eagle Farm and can save some energy from the draw. Expecting to settle positively. Good chance and wouldn’t be surprised to see it pick up a win. FASTCONI (11) Racing for the second time this week. Handy enough when winning three runs back at Randwick and suited by the weight drop. Expected to settle towards the rear. Underrated.

Race 9:
ANDERMATT (6) Had a break from racing and returns to competition. Looked good when 3rd three runs back at Randwick and should race just behind the speed. Returns to the races as a gelding. Will give a big sight. MAJESTIC SHOT (4) First up from a spell. Got the cash when winning last start at Rosehill and easy to come into at this distance. One of the main dangers. GLENEAGLES (14) Landed the spoils when winning two runs back at Hawkesbury but resumes after a spell. Drawn to sit just in behind the speed. Strong chance. SIXGUN (11) Was fighting out the finish when winning two runs back at Randwick. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Marginal hopes.

Race 10:
KINGSHEIR (8) Having second run back from a break. Solid effort when winning last run at Randwick but rising in weight. Big claims. YIYI (13) Got the prize when winning two runs back at Rosehill and goes down in weight. Chance to break through and a could give a show. TOOMUCHTOBEAR (17) Handy enough when winning last start at Newcastle and gets some weight relief. Place hope. SOAMI (7) Scored a victory last run at Newcastle and gets a favourable barrier. Can threaten if right today.

bet365 – Suggested Play:

Race 1: Danzadel
Race 2: Royalzel
Race 3: Steel Diamond
Race 4: Mankayan
Race 5: Coastwatch
Race 6: Paulele
Race 7: Heart Of Puissance, saving on Harpo Marx
Race 8: King Of Sparta
Race 9: Andermatt
Race 10: Kingsheir

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 1:
Kembla again steps in to take this COVID-relocated card. A fortnight after four (!) new track records were set on obviously very fast going we will strike very different conditions this time around. Rain fell heavily through Monday and Tuesday – 54mm – leaving a Heavy 10 surface at acceptance time on Wednesday morning. The rain won’t be coming down again so we are open to some improvement but I would still expect something in the vicinity of H8/S7. Rail out 4 metres from the 1100m, 2 metres the rest. The Highway gets us going. ARNAQUEUR new to rain-affected and also an acceptor later but does look to be the one with most scope and has been here for two wins. THE STORM IN ME will be more forward and proven on wet.
Selections: 9. The Storm In Me (Top Tip), 5. Danzadel, 4. Hurn Court, 2. Yulong Base

Race 2:
The Midway follows the Highway. 5 and 13 dual acceptors. Pace from 4, 11, 12, 10. ROYALZEL can be suiited by 1300m after an 8 week freshen-up. McDonald (who has won on the colt) booked and did enough in a trial behind Eduardo. He may well be on his way to a Victoria Derby so we should expect plenty of improvement still to come. But this is a Midway and the horse is already a stakeswinner. BOWERY BREEZE (scratched from R3) was terrific fresh on the hard track here. She is even better on the wet so must be respected though she could get a long way back from this draw. EXCELTIC in form and likely to run on as well.
Selections: 6. Royalzel (Top Tip), 5. Bowery Breeze, 2. Exceltic, 4. Lord Zoulander

Race 3:
A real paucity of pace from this group of mares. Maybe 12 to lead 3, 7, 5. PENSATO was big odds but not beaten far in a key lead-up here a fortnight back. 3rd-up last prep she settled forward at Flemington at 1800m and kicked on to win (with some reasonable fillies behind her). Could control this similarly. John Sargent had a terrible day last Saturday but perhaps FOXBOROUGH could ease the pain to a small extent. ROCK MY WAND must be in the mix as well. STEEL DIAMOND likes the venue but her latest two offerings on Heavy weren’t so good. Much improved last week and has won on a 7 day backup. Likely to be handy as well?
Selections: 12. Pensato (Top Tip), 3. Foxborough, 11. Rock My Wand, 10. Centimental

Race 4:
7, 12, 15 dual acceptors. If OFF SHAW’s here check what he did at Kenso Wednesday (as fave in a 1550m BM72). He can lead if he comes down, otherwise pace from 6, 15 and 14. GEMMAHRA could end up the leader potentially and she was solid in a similar race 14 days ago. She has (mostly) raced well on Heavy but without winning. LA CHEVALEE well suited to bounce back if we remain near H10. First time to 2000m and may need some luck finding the right pozzie from wide out, as indeed will the likes of MANKAYAN and GREAT HOUSE.
Selections: 6. Gemmahra (Top Tip), 3. La Chevalee, 2. Mankayan, 1. Great House

Race 5:
3 and 8 accepted earlier in easier. Look for 6 and 7 to head up front. COASTWATCH with two runs under the belt, one of them a narrow defeat this track in a good race, looks the way to go. Proven to Soft 7, McDonald booked, and peaking 3rd-up – he’s bound to have plenty of fans but is the inside barrier a hindrance rather than a help? SUBTERRANEAN from the same race and open to improvement. Also a winner to S7. ARNAQUEUR entered in an easier race earlier on. Perhaps could set up closer here though and not without a chance.
Selections: 2. Coastwatch (Best of the Day), 1. Subterranean, 3. Arnaqueur, 6. Military Expert

Race 6:
3 and 9 to lead 8 and 4. STAY INSIDE the star of the show resuming. Trials encouraging and he can set u p for last crack here. No worries on Soft 7 so gets that tick pretty well also. SWORD OF STATE has been impressive over at home and he has only been narrowly beaten in a couple of trials over there (and just been coasting). Hasn’t really seen a genuinely wet track as yet though. Still respecting. REMARQUE and IN THE CONGO both held up at a key time in the Rosebud and the map here could have them in similar spots. Did like REMARQUE’s finish but has to adapt to wet now.
Selections: 1. Stay Inside (Top Tip), 3. Sword Of State, 6. Remarque, 4. Paulele

Race 7:
5 and 1 emerge as the two leaders. 3 and 7 next in line perhaps. Waller with a bracket of fit and in-form horses weighted near the limit. No knock on MUBARIZ on this going and he should be somewhere in the finish once again and perhaps the best of the CW team. NO COMPROMISE and HARPO MARX have already won when dropping from 2400m back to 2000m so there is no query about them as they attempt to do that again here. SPIRIT RIDGE the class runner giving them race fitness and he is absolutely NOT proven on Heavy going. If here I’d be inclined to respect to some extent.
Selections: 9. Mubariz (Top Tip), 10. No Compromise, 1. Spirit Ridge, 12. Harpo Marx

Race 8:
A heap of chances here. TYCOONIST clearly one of them as he can assume the leading role and keep on rolling. Back onto wet might get him over the line but stablemate FASTCONI should be much improved doing the same thing. KING OF SPARTA the 3YO likely to set up well in the run. If we can improve to Soft 7 that might be good for him. Only a couple here – 1 and 6 – that I put the pen through quickly.
Selections: 7. Tycoonist (Top Tip), 11. Fastconi, 8. King Of Sparta, 4. Zakat

Race 9:
1, 2, 4, 9, 12, 13 provide the pace in this short sprint BM78. Both MAJESTIC SHOT and ANDERMATT show up with good fresh records and as recent trial winners. MAJESTIC well established down to Soft 7, H8 for the Godolphin gelding. Betting could help us but you would imagine ANDERMATT may be shorter given stable and rider. Not too worried about MAJESTIC’s gate on the wet; he’s likely to work up on-speed anyway. SIXGUN tracks them with intent and DUCHESS back on Heavy is worth respect too.
Selections: 4. Majestic Shot (Value Bet), 6. Andermatt, 11. Sixgun, 3. Duchess

Race 10:
16 + 2 emergencies in the last. 3 and 10 to lead 17 and 13. Waller with a big hand in this one; his runners make up my top three selections in fact. TOOMUCHTOBEAR has to make a little leap to this level but will be seeing every chance in the run and has a light weight as indeed he should at this stage. YIYI surprisingly beaten when back to midweek level last start but can position much better in this race. PAPAL WARRIOR will be happy on Heavy and is next best. KINGSHEIR was beaten at $1.50 at his only try on rain-affected but the way he won 1st-up I don’t want to be taking too many risks with him. Good luck!
Selections: 17. Toomuchtobear (Top Tip), 13. Yiyi, 6. Papal Warrior, 7. Soami

Unibet – Race Comments:

Race 1:
KARACASU (2) Got the upper hand late when winning three runs back at the track but resuming after a break. Should enjoy a cosy run off the pace. Don’t overlook. MISS DANIEL (6) Finished on top last start at Balaklava and having second career run. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Expected to fight out the finish. QEYAADY (1) Good win last start at Sandown but fresh today after a break. Will be pushing for a forward position early. Include in chances. KNIGHTSTOWN (3) First run back after a spell. Left nothing to chance when winning three runs back at this track and dropping in grade. Suited.

Race 2:
JAAMINT (4) Let up. Won by a big margin two runs back at Gawler. Looks hard to beat on bare form alone. MESCAMINTO (2) Made a mess of them when winning two runs back at Corowa but rising in weight. Been in the money 3 from 4 attempts this preparation. Among the major players. GIVE ME TEN (5) Should be ready to fire fresh with 2 wins from 3 runs. Slipped back to finish 9th last run at Sandown but shows good early pace. Has the ability to figure. CONSTANZIA (3) Came in 4th last run at this track. Will be looking to sit just behind the leaders. Should take beating.

Race 3:
CLASSY JOE (1) Game effort to win last start at the track. Should land a nice spot just off the speed. Can go on with it. MUNTHAM MISSILE (3) Left nothing to chance when winning last start at this venue but rises in weight. Likely to race off the speed. Good chance and wouldn’t be surprised to see it pick up a win. BEAR ARMS (7) Had a comfortable win two runs back at the track and coming to a new trainer. Possesses good finishing speed. Worth a ticket. EXALTED AMBITION (4) Backing up quickly. Displayed potential when winning last start at this track and goes down in weight. Key hope.

Race 4:
PREAKNESS (5) Good win last start here and second up from a spell. Expecting to settle just off the pace. No surprise to see a forward showing and one of the main hopes in this race. KONG (8) Winner three runs back at Kilmore and third up from a spell. Might take a while to wind up but should be hitting top gear in the straight. Expect to go close. HINCHPIN (6) Put in a competitive run when placing 2nd last time at Murray Bridge and can go through the gears. Must respect. CLAP (2) Really dug deep when winning three runs back here and displays good tactical speed. Interesting gear change of blinkers on first time. Strong form this preparation winning 2 from 4 attempts. No surprise to see a forward showing and one of the main hopes in this race.

Race 5:
ANOTHER AWARD (2) Could build on a strong first up record. Rocketed home into 2nd three runs back at Murray Bridge and dropping in class. Classy enough for this field and is one of the major players. MISS MUCINNI (9) Showed promise when winning three runs back at Murray Bridge and blinkers go on for the first time. Should land a nice spot just off the speed. Strong hope. WOTUWANT (4) Rattled home nicely into 2nd three runs back at this venue and on a quick back up. Will be looking to sit just behind the pace. Can be competitive. ALL IN WAR (6) Good performance to run into 2nd last start at this track and backing up quickly. Likely to get a nice run behind the speed. Has to be strongly considered.

Race 6:
SO YOU CAN (9) Racing fresh after a break. Looked good when 2nd two runs back around here and will appreciate a good barrier. Classy enough for this field and is one of the major players. VONGOLE (2) Charged home into 3rd three runs back at Moonee Valley and shows very good finishing speed. Can feature. NALEIGH (10) Got the upper hand late when winning last run here and suited by the weight drop. Might take a while to wind up but should be hitting top gear in the straight. One of the major hopes. MISS JANE (7) Backs up quickly today. Did its best work late when 2nd last start here and strong form at this distance. At least a place chance.

Race 7:
BEAU ROSSA (8) Third up from a break. Put a gap on the rest when winning two runs back at this track and looks well placed in this grade. Looks the winner. IRONCLAD (1) Resuming after spell. Good win last start at Bendigo but carrying more weight than last time. Respect in this company. SECOND SLIP (5) Strong record when second up. Was all too good winning last run at Caulfield but racing in stronger company. Respect against this field. KING OF HASTINGS (2) Winner two runs back at Sunshine Coast but going up in weight. One to watch and an each way chance.

Race 8:
CELESTIAL ILLUSION (3) Having third run back from a break. Won narrowly two runs back at this venue. Can make a claim. SHE’S A KARAKA (6) Fought on gamely when winning three runs back at Murray Bridge and shows very good closing speed. Capable of a place and a good chance. DEELBRAKA (1) Fought on well to win last start at Moe and third up from a break. Should get a lovely cart into it from just behind the pace. Use betting as a guide. TIBETAN (2) Came in 2nd two runs back at the track and backing up quickly. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Has to be strongly considered.

Race 9:
HE’S A BALTER (6) Bold effort to win last run at this course. Always seems to find the line well. Must respect. GREAT DIVINER (14) Fought on well to win two runs back here and going well this preparation. Expecting to settle just off the pace. ALLEBOOM (8) Having second run back from a spell. Peaked on the run when 3rd two runs back at this venue and won’t be far away during the run. Can be competitive.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 1:
Track rated soft 5 at time of acceptances with the chance of a shower. Only a small field to kick off the card but it’s a good race all the same. Down the page: QEYAADY is only lightly raced and was unbeaten at Sandown last campaign. KARACASU was involved in close finishes in all four starts earlier this year. KNIGHTSTOWN was sent for a break after running fourth in a Group 3 race here in May. MADAM FURPHY was given a letup after leading throughout to win her maiden. TUPOLEU was runner-up to Starsongari in a trial on 9/8. MISS DANIEL was too strong for Stars The Limit at Balaklava on debut.
Selections: 2. Karacasu (Top Tip), 1. Qeyaady, 3. Knightstown, 6. Miss Daniel

Race 2:
GIVE ME TEN kicked off her last campaign with an easy all-the-way win at Pakenham. She’s likely to push forward here from the inside gate. CONSTANZIA is down in grade after finishing just behind the placegetters over 1514m a fortnight ago. DISTURBING hit the line well at Murray Bridge last time, running on late to place. The step up to 1400m looks ideal. MESCAMINTO has been racing consistently on wet tracks in country NSW. She has finished in the placings in five of her six starts. MOSCOW RED hasn’t won for more than 12 month but her latest effort at Warrnambool was sound.
Selections: 5. Give Me Ten (Top Tip), 3. Constanzia, 6. Disturbing, 2. Mescaminto

Race 3:
UNDER OATH returned to form with a strong on-pace win at Murray Bridge. The extra trip should suit and he drops 2kg in weight. CLASSY JOE made it two on the trot when he defeated Motell two weeks ago. He has won over this trip in the past. EXALTED AMBITION backs up after defeating Smiling Assassin last week. He’ll carry 52g after the claim. BEAR ARMS has been racing well but seems to be at her best on rain affected tracks. Conditions the key to her chances. The same can be said about MUNTHAM MISSILE. She won well when stepping up to 2500m a fortnight ago.
Selections: 2. Under Oath (Top Tip), 4. Exalted Ambition, 7. Bear Arms, 1. Classy Joe

Race 4:
The drop back in trip probably didn’t help the chances of CLAP last start. Out to 1400m looks ideal and he’ll wear blinkers and a tongue tie today. ANGASTON gets out to his preferred distance here third up, look for an improved showing. After Gary Lo’s claim, he’ll carry 57kg. MAGNETIC EDGE made good ground to finish third to Lake’s Folly when resuming. He got the money second up last time in work. HINCHPIN got into the placings at Murray Bridge second up. Note that he hasn’t tasted success since April 2019. PREAKNESS has been freshened following a strong win last month.
Selections: 2. Clap (Top Tip), 1. Angaston, 4. Magnetic Edge, 6. Hinchpin

Race 5:
MISS MUCINNI didn’t have the best of luck when a close fifth at Murray Bridge three weeks ago. Blinkers go on for the first time today. ANOTHER AWARD kicked off her last campaign with a win over The Big Goodbye at Gawler. She went onto perform well over further but has won over this trip in the past. ALL IN WAR was scratched from a winnable race at Murray Bridge on Wednesday to go around here. She hasn’t won since December 2019 but has been around the mark of late. ROYAL TYKE was tuned up for this with a win in a Tatura trial on August 18th. Keep a close watch on market moves for him.
Selections: 9. Miss Mucinni (Top Tip), 2. Another Award, 6. All In War, 3. Exlover

Race 6:
SO YOU CAN found the 1100m trip too short first up last time in work, then came out and won second up this track/distance. He has trialled well leading into this. VONGOLE finished a close second to Open Minded at Moonee Valley when resuming in February. NALEIGH came from back in the field to defeat Rizski at her third run back from a spell. She won’t know herself here with 54.5kg on her back. MISS JANE backs up after going down in a photo finish last week. PERFECT ROUTE will strip fitter for one run back from a spell however all four of his wins have come over further.
Selections: 9. So You Can (Best of the Day), 2. Vongole, 10. Naleigh, 7. Miss Jane

Race 7:
BEAU ROSSA made it two from two this campaign when he took out the Spring Stakes a fortnight ago, only to have the race taken from him in the steward’s room. Note that he is also an acceptor in the Memsie Stakes at Caulfield today. RITRATTO ran third over 1200m when resuming. He’ll be fitter for that and is much better suited stepping up to 1400m. IRONCLAD won four in a row last preparation. He comes into this off the back of a Balaklava trial win. KING OF HASTINGS (accepted to run in race 9 at Caulfield today) won well at the Sunshine Coast two starts ago, then had some excuses last start.
Selections: 8. Beau Rossa (Top Tip), 6. Ritratto, 1. Ironclad, 2. King Of Hastings

Race 8:
CELESTIAL ILLUSION has performed well in two runs back from a spell, the latest when stepping up in class and distance. With the right run, he’ll be competitive again. MORTY notched up his second career win when he scored at Gawler ten days ago. DEELBRAKA is down in grade after taking out a bm70 at Moe at his second run back from a spell. Any give in the ground is a plus for him. TIBETAN finished just behind the placegetters in a similar race last week. He has drawn well and is worth including in multiples. SHE’S A KARAKA, MONRAAJ and VALENTINO’S ON are others with claims.
Selections: 3. Celestial Illusion (Top Tip), 15. Morty, 1. Deelbraka, 2. Tibetan

Race 9:
ALLEBOOM led them up when resuming, tiring late to finish fourth. He’ll be fitter again and has Caitlin Jones to ride. HE’S A BALTER made it three wins from his past four starts when he took out a similar race last month. He has been kept fresh for this. STAR HILLS got the money here two starts ago then had some excuses last time. He has drawn to get a good run from barrier 5 and will carry 2.5kg less today. BRIMARVI VEHERO rarely runs a bad race, don’t write him off. LAKHANI ROSE made good ground from back in the field to place behind Winning Weather when resuming.
Selections: 8. Alleboom (Value Bet), 6. He’s A Balter, 1. Star Hills, 2. Brimarvi Vehero
