Unibet – Race Comments:

Race 1:
YIYI (8) Stormed home when 3rd last time at Kembla Grange and goes down in weight. Rates well in this race. CRYSTAL PEGASUS (5) Good win two runs back at Kembla Grange and carrying less weight this time. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Include in chances. ACHIEVER (1) Having third run back from a break. Went out at $3.9 and ended up nearly 3L from the winner at Doomben last time on a good track. Can’t knock. OUR INTRIGUE (3) Placed 2nd last start at Kembla Grange. Winning hope.

Race 2:
SO SAY YOU (4) Brave effort to win three runs back here. Should land a nice spot just off the speed. Will go well. KERMATIN (15) Having second run back from a break. Nice effort when winning two runs back at Wagga and always seems to find the line well. In the mix. WITHOUT SHAME (11) Made considerable ground when 2nd three runs back at Gunnedah and dropping weight today. Displays very good closing speed. Place wouldn’t shock. TAP ‘N’ RUN (3) Good win two runs back at Albury. Drawn to sit just in behind the speed. Been in the money 3 from 4 attempts this campaign. Goes very close.

Race 3:
CALGARY QUEEN (7) Showed promise when winning two runs back at Randwick and won’t be far away during the run. Can get the job done. BAROSSA ROSA (5) Having second run back from a spell. Dashed home into 3rd last start at Kembla Grange and should come to hand quickly. Major hope. RUBY TUESDAY (3) Having second run back from a break. Winner last run at Randwick and expecting to settle positively. Betting is the best guide and has each way claims. DALAALAAT (6) Second up from a break. Brave effort to win last start at Kembla Grange but bit of extra work to do with more weight today. Good chance of threatening these.

Race 4:
NO COMPROMISE (6) Brave effort to win three runs back at the track and racing again inside a week. Been in the money 8 from 9 attempts this preparation. Take holding out. CRIMINAL CODE (7) Flashed home late into 2nd two runs back at Wyong and possesses good finishing speed. Must respect. ENTENTE (2) Races well third up. Couldn’t keep the momentum throughout when 3rd last start at Randwick. One of the major players. FUN FACT (3) On a short turnaround. Fell back to finish 7th last start at Randwick. Strong each way hope.

Race 5:
PAULELE (3) Third up from a break. Solid win two runs back at Randwick and proven performer at this trip in the past. Hard to hold out. HOME AFFAIRS (2) Had a break from racing and returns to competition. Game effort to win three runs back at the track and should race on the speed. Winning chance in this line up. KING OF SPARTA (4) Gave them a lesson when winning two runs back at Kembla Grange and gets a nice run behind the speed. Tracking very well this campaign. Can make a claim. SWORD OF STATE (1) First run back from a break. Won by a huge margin last time at Ellerslie but rising in weight. Capable of a place and a good chance.

Race 6:
LOVE TAP (10) Third up from a spell. Displayed potential when winning last run at Kembla Grange and suited by the weight drop. Key player. IMAGING (1) Was $18 and finished almost 3 1/2L behind the winner at Flemington last time on a good track but can go through the gears. Expected to fight out the finish. DISCHARGED (8) Couldn’t keep the momentum throughout when 3rd three runs back at Gold Coast and should be going forward early. Good chance of threatening these. CHAT (4) Game effort to win last time at Kembla Grange and racing consistently this campaign. Likely to get a nice run behind the speed. Every chance today.

Race 7:
ENTRIVIERE (2) Second up. Good win last time at Kembla Grange. Has an engine that others will struggle to keep up with. FITUESE (5) Won narrowly two runs back at Randwick and having third run back from a break. Might take a while to wind up but should be hitting top gear in the straight. Right in the thick of it and is a major player. VANGELIC (10) Having second run back from a spell. Was $16 and ran 4th last run at Kembla Grange but expecting to settle positively. Genuine winning chance. ICEBATH (9) Kept finding the line when 3rd two runs back at Randwick and should race just behind the speed. Marginal chance.

Race 8:
ANAMOE (1) Got the upper hand late when winning last run at Kembla Grange and will be hitting the line strongly. Gets the green light today as the race suits and will be difficult to beat. REMARQUE (7) Third up. Snuck in a place when 3rd last start at Kembla Grange but rising in grade. Has scope so do not ignore. ARTORIUS (2) Flashed home late into 2nd last run at Flemington and shows good finishing speed. Wouldn’t leave out of multiples. IN THE CONGO (5) Fought on well to win two runs back at Kembla Grange but up in grade. Likely to be well placed early. Could work into the placings.

Race 9:
PROFONDO (6) Really dug deep when winning last run at Randwick and fitter for debut run. Likely to get a nice run behind the speed. Suited. HEAD OF STATE (2) Kept finding the line when 2nd last run at Randwick but racing in stronger company today. Good chance and wouldn’t be surprised to see it pick up a win. ARNAQUEUR (3) Fought on gamely when winning three runs back at Kembla Grange but up against stronger competition. Shows very good closing speed. Has the ability to figure. ALEGRON (4) Was rock solid when winning two runs back at Newcastle and third up. Should enjoy a cosy run off the pace. Honest enough to be an each way player.

Race 10:
ELLSBERG (2) Can improve on finishing 2nd last start at Eagle Farm and displays good tactical speed. Live winning chance. KIKU (5) Did a good job when winning two runs back at Randwick and can go through the gears. Winning hope. ALL HALLOWS’ EVE (4) Second up from a break. Was fighting out the finish when winning three runs back at Randwick and looks well placed in this grade. Must come into consideration. GRANDE RUMORE (13) Second up from a spell. Brave effort to win three runs back at Canterbury and gets some weight relief. Place wouldn’t shock.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 1:
Aha!! Back to Rosehill we go for the big Golden Rose meeting. With significant COVID-19 interruptions this track has had a 2 month ‘layoff’. We’re fresh and rail true for the comeback with conditions sure to be dry – high 20s temps late in the week and no rain in the forecast. We begin with a 1900m BM88. Look for 6 and 7 to lead 2 and 8. ACHIEVER makes some appeal as as 3rd-up ‘peaker’. Down from Brisbane but has some creditable performances at stakes level around this trip and could set up well at midfield. Stablemate YIYI right in the midst of a consistent prep and won at the most recent meeting here.
Selections: 1. Achiever (Top Tip), 8. Yiyi, 3. Our Intrigue, 9. Bazooka

Race 2:
This is ripper dosh for a race like this. 5, 6 and 20 were scratched immediately after a brief look at their barriers. 10, 12, 13 have other options. 6 was the designated leader so in his absence we’re probably looking at 12, 16, 2 and 7. Fancy WITHOUT SHAME will be happier at the 1500m than he was in one of these at 1100m at Randwick two back. Draws to set up stalking and I dare say he’ll be attractive each-way odds. THE FOSSIL was only beaten 1L in a similar race two back. His latest few runs advertise him well for something like this. CHASE MY CROWN has decent ability and was luckless last start. An each-way hope but may have to cover more ground than she is happy with.
Selections: 11. Without Shame (Top Tip), 9. The Fossil, 10. Chase My Crown, 4. So Say You

Race 3:
3, 11, 13 the dual acceptors in this one. Pace from 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13. RUBY TUESDAY’s previous Rosehill runs have seen her on Heavy or settling too far back. Liked her fresh run where she was able to assume the lead and keep on running. Can be up thereabouts again. CALGARY QUEEN can head forward as well but we’ll see whether she can get up and over or perhaps be stuck deep. Overall form has her well in the mix for a Midway and the booking of McDOnald will have here high up in the market. EXCELTIC has finished top four at this level his latest few but his challenge is always his settling position.
Selections: 3. Ruby Tuesday (Top Tip), 7. Calgary Queen, 2. Exceltic, 10. Rock My Wand

Race 4:
2, 1, 5, 3 to set the tempo. ENTENTE is 3 from 3 third-up so looks very hard to beat coming here on a 7 day turnaround. He will have to be a winner for me. FUN FACT through the same race and has history of running well on quick backups. NO COMPROMISE has been up since April but continues to put his hand up in everything he contests. He was flying at this track – and at 2400m – going back 2-3 months. Has the draw to stalk cheaply and pounce.
Selections: 2. Entente (Top Tip), 6. No Compromise, 3. Fun Fact, 7. Criminal Code

Race 5:
Solid speed here from 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. I’m not sure in which order. Maybe 3 as well??? HOME AFFAIRS has won trials in July, August and September so his re-entry to racing has been extended and well planned. His initial prep suggested he is of high quality. Bypassed the Run To The Rose a fortnight ago; this looks well within his scope. A VERY FINE RED up from recent midweek assignments but she has never run poorly and could set up handier from the rails draw. PAULELE beaten at a short price in the San Domenico but shouldn’t be risked here. Beaten 2L without much luck behind HOME AFFAIRS at his only Rosehill try.
Selections: 2. Home Affairs (Top Tip), 11. A Very Fine Red, 3. Paulele, 1. Sword Of State

Race 6:
Pace from 8 with 3 crossing over. 10 and 9 next in line. ALL SAINTS’ EVE was sound enoguh behind a start first-up. Her unplaced runs here are a 2L 4th in the Golden Eagle (bog track), a 2.3L 5th in the Coolmore, and a 1.8L 5th in the Emancipation. Her go is to settle well back and this isn’t overloaded with speed but at the same time it’s hard to see her not running on in threatening fashion. IMAGINE can do much the same. He has essentially finished midfield (or better) in G1s his latest six starts and this looms as a bit easier. LOVE TAP sees gun run and can win but this has decent depth to it. ARCHEDEMUS a possible improver 3rd-up.
Selections: 7. All Saints’ Eve (Top Tip), 1. Imaging, 10. Love Tap, 3. Archedemus

Race 7:
7, 8, 11 all scarpered to other races, leaving a field of nine and pace from VANGELIC and VANGELIC alone. NIMALEE has been quite versatile in her approach across her career and here’s a race in which she might have to call upon that adaptability. She did more than enough on return and has won her latest two starts here at Rosehill. ENTRIVIERE made a great comeback and she looks a future G1 winner. Drawn outside here though and her only two defeats to date have been when settling well off the front from wide gates. VANGELIC can have all the favours up the front and could (really should) be kicking on soundly.
Selections: 4. Nimalee (Top Tip), 2. Entriviere, 10. Vangelic, 5. Fituese

Race 8:
IN THE CONGO the obvious leader as he steps to 1400m for the first time. TIGER OF MALAY went forward last time and could again. 11 to trail handy inside. 4 does his best from out wide? ANAMOE is the standout pick and sensible favourite. Even though the Run To The Rose – always a compelling leadup for this – was an ‘away’ event this year the form should stand just the same and he clearly has the edge out of it. It was a rock-solid return for ANAMOE, asked to chase from the home turn and proving too strong for a game CONGO, with REMARQUE chasing home soundly too. Obviously fitter, he now meets those rivals 1.5/2.5 kilos better off. ARTORIOUS, with his lovely wide draw, looks the big top three chance coming from a different angle. Back to set weights for him here too. JAMAEA takes the approach – get back/run on – that often wins this race.
Selections: 1. Anamoe (Top Tip), 2. Artorius, 5. In The Congo, 7. Remarque

Race 9:
Not heaps of obvious speed here with many rising to the 1800m for the first time. I have 9, 1, 10 and 12 most prominent. ARNAQUEUR very unlikely to be front half but comes through the ‘right’ races and very much looks to be searching for this trip. HEAD OF STATE beaten back midweek level last time but he too is simply building to the longer journeys. McDonald/Waller and a perfect draw so has to be well respected. ALEGRON started shorter than ARNAQUEUR in the Dulcify and has winning claims as well. A big ask for BENAUD after a successful debut but he could be a decent horse in the making.
Selections: 3. Arnaqueur (Top Tip), 2. Head Of State, 4. Alegron, 15. Benaud

Race 10:
6, 12, 2 and 3 the on-pace group in the last. ELLSBERG has had the customary two trials coming in, wining the latest here on Sept 14. Won a Listed 1400m to begin last preparation. KIKU also on the comeback, two trials, and a winner fresh last campaign. Stablemate GRACE AND HARMONY yet another well credentialed resumer. Market could certainly be influential here but I’m with that trio of first-uppers above all others. Good luck!
Selections: 2. Ellsberg (Top Tip), 5. Kiku, 10. Grace And Harmony, 13. Grande Rumore

Unibet – Race Comments:

Race 1:
ESTA LA ROCA (4) Did well when 2nd two runs back at Moonee Valley and displays good tactical speed. Been in the money 4 from 5 attempts this preparation. Looks the one to beat. HOW WOMANTIC (3) Could build on a strong first up record. Rattled home nicely into 2nd two runs back at Mornington and looks well placed in this grade. Will be in the finish. DIAMONDS INTHE SKY (7) Finished strongly when 3rd last time at the track but up against stronger competition today. Shows good early pace. Can feature. TWIST OF FURY (5) Really dug deep when winning last time at the track and expecting to settle positively. Going well this campaign. Place wouldn’t shock.

Race 2:
SIRILEO MISS (12) Showed promise when winning last time here and should race on the speed. The one they all have to beat. CAMBOURNE (18) Flew home into 2nd last time here and shows good finishing speed. Gets a chance to win. FOXY FRIDA (14) Fresh today after a break. Game effort to win two runs back at Flemington and goes down in weight. Honest enough to be an each way player. MIMI’S AWARD (15) Did a good job when winning last time at Morphettville but back from a break. Will be giving the leaders a big start. Use betting as a guide.

Race 3:
LINAS LEGEND (3) Showed promise when winning last time at this venue and displays good tactical speed. Ultra competitive this campaign with 2 wins from 2 starts. Could pose a threat and expected to go very close. TAUNTING (7) Left nothing to chance when winning two runs back at Gawler and should muster plenty of early toe. Has been a model of consistency since coming back from a spell. Worth strong consideration. SANDY PRINCE (2) Winner two runs back around here and has the ideal barrier. Expecting to settle positively. Can get the job done. EXTREME FLIGHT (10) Had a comfortable win last start at Moe and goes down in weight. Strong each way bet.

Race 4:
ZOUZARELLA (2) Was all too good winning last start at Moonee Valley. Very tidy this campaign winning 2 from as many starts. Makes it very hard to bet against. MAC ‘N’ CHEESE (3) Displayed potential when winning two runs back at Morphettville and shows very good closing speed. Been in the money 3 from 4 attempts this preparation. Likely threat. LITERARY MAGNATE (5) Having second run back from a spell. Had a comfortable win three runs back at Warrnambool. Key player. FORTUNATE KISS (8) Good win two runs back at Warracknabeal and third up today. Should land a nice spot just off the speed. In the mix.

Race 5:
ELEPHANT (2) Third up. Displayed potential when winning two runs back at Caulfield and looks well placed in this grade. Likely to be first past the post. CHERRY TORTONI (6) Was very impressive when winning two runs back at Morphettville and expected to be flashing home. Top prospects against this opposition. HARBOUR VIEWS (3) Proven record when second up with 2 wins from 4 attempts. Fought on well to win last run at Flemington but goes up in weight. Drawn to sit just in behind the speed. Must be considered. ZIEGFELD (5) Honest race when 2nd two runs back at Caulfield and dropping weight today. Expecting to settle positively. One of the main dangers.

Race 6:
FLOATING ARTIST (5) Did enough to win last start at Flemington. Tracking very well this campaign. Well suited and should prove hard to beat. SKY MAN (7) Having third run back from a spell. Won narrowly three runs back at Caulfield and gets a favourable gate. Looks promising in this race. DR DRILL (1) Did its best work late when 3rd last run at Moonee Valley and suited by the weight drop. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Chance to break through and a could give a show. DON’T DOUBT DORY (9) Landed the spoils when winning last run at Moonee Valley and second up from a spell. Should land a nice spot just off the speed. Worth a ticket.

Race 7:
ZAAKI (2) Having second run back from a break. Chimed in with a win last time at Randwick and should come to hand quickly. Expect a strong showing. PROBABEEL (5) Could build on a strong third up record. Fought on gamely when winning two runs back at Caulfield and has a good draw. Should take beating. SUPERSTORM (4) Fought on well to win last run at Moonee Valley and possesses good closing speed. Minor prospects. THE CHOSEN ONE (3) Came on strongly when 3rd last start at Moonee Valley and second up from a break. Will be giving the leaders a big start. Definite claims.

Race 8:
CHAILLOT (6) Proven record first up with 3 wins from 3 runs. Fought on well to win two runs back at Flemington and shows very good closing speed. Major claims. IRONCLAD (3) Races well second up winning 2 from 4 runs. Showed promise when winning two runs back at Bendigo and suited by the weight drop. Among better hopes. LORD VLADIVOSTOK (7) Fought on gamely when winning last time at Morphettville and should muster plenty of early toe. Has the ability to figure. KING OF HASTINGS (5) Let up. Landed the spoils when winning two runs back at Sunshine Coast. Respect against this field.

Race 9:
FLEXIBLE (11) Was fighting out the finish when winning last start here and expected to be flashing home. Among better hopes. THOUGHT OF THAT (8) Displayed potential when winning last time at Sale and goes down in weight. Should jump out and bowl along. Each way prospects. HASSELTOFF (15) Ran on strongly when 2nd last time at this course and gets a reduction in weight. Possesses good closing speed. Capable of a place and a good chance. AUSSIE NUGGET (3) Proven record when third up with 2 wins from 4 attempts. Nice run when finishing 3rd last run at Moonee Valley and displays very good finishing speed. Has the ability to take this out.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 1:
NOTE: Rail is true. Was 12m here last meeting and there was no bias. Last true rail was June 12: track was very wet and it was tough to run on! ESTA LA ROCA comes back from WFA when not far off G1 horses September Run and Portland Sky despite racing on slower inside lanes. DEROCHE has won 3 of 4 second up and that second to Still A Star in Vamos at WFA reads very well. HOW WOMANTIC’s only fresh defeat was a 2.2L 6th in a Rubiton Stakes and went better than BLESS HER in jumpout to my eye. TWIST OF FURY beat DIAMONDS INTHE SKY latest who picked the wrong day to go back! MODEAR always a threat!
Selections: 4. Esta La Roca (Top Tip), 3. How Womantic, 1. Deroche, 7. Diamonds Inthe Sky

Race 2:
SPEED: 6, 7, 20 from 8 with 9, 12, 14, 15 handy? EMBOLISM draws out but liked the jumpout and he ran well in G1 Australian Guineas beating home CAMBOURNE, who did run well first up as a gelding but was just no match for SIRILEO MISS. Cambourne has a 2.5kg swing this time. MILTON PARK has won 5 of 6 at 1400m! FRANKIE PINOT ran down an in-form horse on Lakeside when five weeks off. FOXY FRIDA and MIMI’S AWARD both resume and trialled OK. They have a touch of class. SNOWFIRE and BARBIE’S FOX head a stack of other hopes.
Selections: 12. Sirileo Miss (Top Tip), 18. Cambourne, 5. Embolism, 15. Mimi’s Award

Race 3:
SANDY PRINCE was very good at MV when pressured on a fast (+8.3L above average) tempo. He still kicked and it took an exceptional finale from winner to beat him. LINAS LEGEND looks smart. He was heavily backed and easily beat another smart one last time. They gapped third and ran time. TAUNTING had genuine excuses fresh (lame) and doubt he loved Valley in any case. Bigger track here, he can hit back hard! THREE KINGS was a forgive run there also. JUNGLE MAGNATE beat a good filly on debut. KOOLED won OK fresh. EXTREME FLIGHT was thrashed by Linas Legend two back but looked great latest with blinkers added.
Selections: 3. Linas Legend (Top Tip), 7. Taunting, 2. Sandy Prince, 9. Kooled

Race 4:
ZOUZARELLA’s win at just start two was excellent! Back/wide/no cover yet joined in and raced away running very similar time to class older mare Bella Nipotina on the day! LITERARY MAGNATE (doubt loved racing tight/hit line nicely/no shock winkers go on), MAC ‘N’ CHEESE (race-fastest last 200m) and BISCAYNE BAY (widest/third-fastest home) ran on very well behind her and are suited by the bigger track here, at 1400m. Convinced there is a good race in FORTUNATE KISS. PICARONES to 1400m some hope. QUEEN OF DUBAI held on okay in swoopers’ race Zouzarella won.
Selections: 2. Zouzarella (Top Tip), 5. Literary Magnate, 3. Mac ‘n’ Cheese, 8. Fortunate Kiss

Race 5:
SPEED: 5 may lead 2, 4 & 1 but map not clear-cut. ELEPHANT had his chance in Feehan but was pipped by Superstorm. They had last week’s winner Sierra Sue and Nonconformist behind them. He comes back from WFA but not 100% sure back 100m is any bonus? ROMANCER’s last two have been excellent with plenty against him, at the early odds ($17 first markets) he is the one way over his true odds of winning in my humble. HARBOUR VIEWS nailed CHERRY TORTONI at Flemington and they robbed potential star Ayrton there. Both are proven second up!
Selections: 4. Romancer (Top Tip), 6. Cherry Tortoni, 2. Elephant, 3. Harbour Views

Race 6:
SPEED: 5 may lead 1. 3, 9 can be handy but a few others can press on here so ?? FLOATING ARTIST may be able to control things here, just as he did at Flemington when beating FURRION and SKYMAN. They meet near same weight terms. Furrion was eight weeks off there so fitter. Skyman was ridden too warm for mine. ZAYYDANI closed well very late in on-pace race and can improve. DR DRILL was wide/terrific at MV and just missed Furrion in July at Flemington. DON’T DOUBT DORY stays down in weights off good return win. ONLY WORDS had a bit against her fresh. One more run her?
Selections: 5. Floating Artist (Top Tip), 1. Dr Drill, 7. Skyman, 3. Furrion

Race 7:
ZAAKI was a brilliant return winner at an unsuitable trip (he had never really been a 1400m horse). He jumps to 1800m quickly but is very tough to tip against! PROBABEEL is a proper Group 1 horse coming off a good effort in a Rupert Clarke given she carried near WFA with her 57kg. The 1800m is OK for mine. SUPERSTORM won the Feehan and that form has been terrific (Sierra Sue won that Rupert Clarke, Nonconformist won the MRC Foundation Cup last week).
Selections: 2. Zaaki (Top Tip), 5. Probabeel, 4. Superstorm, 1. Fifty Stars

Race 8:
Not sure leader/speed. Maybe 2, 7, 5, 12 go forward? NEWHART has trialled well at home in Tassie and is a good fresh horse. IRONCLAD was a clear forgive run fresh. He won second up last prep from on speed but that was 1600m. KING OF HASTINGS is also off a forgive run. On his Glasshouse win prior (and Bella Nipotina form before that) he goes close here. CHAILLOT was heavily backed and won fresh last prep. She trialled well but where does she get to from the gate? HIGHTAIL wasn’t far off some good ones his last two. He too draws in so …? MET SPECTRUM trialled OK with Harbour Views.
Selections: 2. Newhart (Top Tip), 6. Chaillot, 5. King Of Hastings, 8. Hightail

Race 9:
SPEED: 6, 8, 17 go forward. 1,4,10,11 handy. AUSSIE NUGGET produced an outstanding finale at MV 2nd-up and beat home Wicklow Town, who won Gold Nugget last week beating ADELAIDE ACE. He looks ready to win but don’t love gate 1. THINK WE’RE DUE was solid that MV race. KHOEKHOE quickly to 1800m a hope. Maybe one more? That was the real THOUGHT OF THAT last time when he led. AUYANTEPUI has trialled OK. FLEXIBLE won well fresh with weight and like her Duais form. Big win BEA TEMPTED latest and she has run well behind Aussie Nugget.
