Unibet – Race Comments:

Race 1:
HOSIER (5) Fought on well to win last time around here and displays good tactical speed. Jye Mcneil is in top form. Looks a worthwhile investment today. EQUATION (9) Started $3.7 and ended up over 3L behind the winner at Randwick last time on a soft surface but will appreciate the drop in weight. Should land a nice spot just off the speed. Deserves consideration. SILENT SOVEREIGN (7) Flashed home late into 2nd last time at Moonee Valley and second up from a spell. Likely to get a nice run behind the speed. Strong claims. OUR PLAYBOY (1) Gave them a lesson when winning two runs back at Sunshine Coast and second up from a break. Might take a while to wind up but should be hitting top gear in the straight. Good chance of threatening these.

Race 2:
WARNING (1) Was fighting out the finish when winning last run at Randwick. Might take a while to wind up but should be hitting top gear in the straight. Sure to be competitive and must include. DR DRILL (3) Good show when finishing 2nd last start at Geelong. Winless this preparation. Well placed and has solid claims. LUNAR FLARE (4) Got the upper hand late when winning last start at Moonee Valley. Should get a lovely cart into it from just behind the leaders. Has run into the money 7 from 9 attempts this campaign. Has the ability to figure. WENTWOOD (5) Brave effort to win last time at Bendigo. Damian Lane is a bonus. Should be very competitive and is a genuine threat.

Race 3:
ALCYONE (6) Showed promise when winning three runs back at Sandown. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Hugh Bowman is riding plenty of winners lately. Winning appeal. VITRUVIUS (13) Won narrowly last run at Geelong but up in grade. Shows very good finishing speed. Should be very competitive and is a genuine threat. SHIBLI (7) Was all too good winning two runs back at Rosehill and going well this preparation. Should get a lovely cart into it from just behind the pace. Looks promising in this race. TYCHE GODDESS (5) Set a strong tempo when 2nd last start at Cranbourne and can find a nice position from the draw. Keep an eye on the market.

Race 4:
OUR HEIDI (6) Came on strongly when 2nd last time at Moonee Valley. Having second run back from a spell. Should land a nice spot just off the speed. Suitably placed in this race. SCISSOR STEP (2) Nice show when placing 2nd last time at Moonee Valley. Warrants a bet. DECENT RAINE (7) Hit the line well when 3rd last time at Randwick and Harry Coffey is in form. Drawn to sit just in behind the speed. Honest enough to be an each way player. PORT LOUIS (3) Did well to finish 2nd two runs back at Moonee Valley and shows good finishing speed. Interesting gear change of blinkers on first time. Market watch advised.

Race 5:
NIMALEE (1) Competitive effort when 2nd three runs back at Rosehill. Backing up quickly. Should be very competitive and is a genuine threat. ONLY WORDS (2) Landed the spoils when winning last run at Moonee Valley but up against stronger competition. Honest enough to be an each way player. MIMI’S AWARD (5) Displayed potential when winning three runs back at Morphettville and third up today. Displays very good finishing speed. Worth an each way bet in this. GHODELEINE (10) Game effort to win last start at Moe and going well this preparation. Should get a lovely cart into it from just behind the pace. Each way.

Race 6:
NATURE STRIP (1) Was much too speedy in front when winning by a short half head last run at Randwick and proven performer at this trip. Has early speed and positions nicely. Looks the one. BELLA NIPOTINA (6) Left nothing to chance when winning three runs back at Caulfield but rising in class. Jye Mcneil is a bonus. Watch market moves. RANCH HAND (9) Got the upper hand late when winning three runs back at this venue and racing again inside a week. Prefers to settle towards the rear. One in a race with many chances. SEPTEMBER RUN (5) Jumped at $6 and was 3 3/4L behind the winner here last time on a good surface but backing up quickly. Blinkers on could be an important change. Don’t leave out of trifectas.

Race 7:
CHAILLOT (11) Won narrowly two runs back at Sandown and finishes off strongly. Trainer has gone for the winkers on, take note. Looks promising in this race. SINAWANN (2) Tidy effort when 3rd last start at Leopardstown and James Mcdonald is riding well. Likely to race off the speed. Should take beating. JUSTACANTA (5) Brave effort to win last time at this venue and backing up quickly. Should race just behind the speed. Has been a model of consistency since resuming from a break. No surprise to see a win. DICE ROLL (4) Did well to run 2nd two runs back at Caulfield but rises in weight. Strong form third up winning 2 from 4 starts. Expecting to settle just off the pace. One to watch and an each way chance.

Race 8:
ZAAKI (4) Ran 3rd last run at Caulfield. James Mcdonald rates highly. Take holding out. COLETTE (9) Game effort to win last start here and Damian Lane is riding well. Racing for the second time this week. Might take a while to wind up but should be hitting top gear in the straight. Expected to fight out the finish. MO’UNGA (7) Good show placing 2nd three runs back at this venue. Likely to get a nice run behind the speed. One for the trifectas and first fours in this race. PRIVATE EYE (8) Fought on well to win two runs back at Randwick and on a short turnaround. Finishes off strongly. Won’t be far away.

Race 9:
DUCHESS OF DORSET (14) Got the cash when winning last time at Bendigo and Craig Williams is in form. Ultra competitive this preparation with 2 wins from as many starts. Could prove hard to beat. IT’SOURTIME (5) Good run when placing 2nd two runs back at Caulfield but fresh after a break. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Worth strong consideration. DESTINATION (4) Solid win three runs back at Randwick and let up. Likely to race off the speed. Place chance. SAM’S IMAGE (3) Chimed in with a win three runs back at Bendigo and should come to hand quickly. Trainer has gone for the blinkers off, take note. Likely to fill a place.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 1:
SPEED: 5 may lead 2,3,4. OUR PLAYBOY gave away an impossible start fresh at EFM in a fast race, he did run on well late. He won his only go 1600m by panels. MYSTERY SHOT had slow tempo against him last time, go back two-runs and he is right on the heels of two subsequent, impressive winners at this track. HOSIER is very promising and went 4 for 4 last prep. SILENT SOVEREIGN is a good mare and she hit the line nicely fresh. EQUATION may be looking for 1600m now. SEINERS EXPRESS has run well to I’m thunderstruck and gets down in the weights.
Selections: 7. Silent Sovereign (Top Tip), 5. Hosier, 1. Our Playboy, 3. Mystery Shot

Race 2:
Small field but intriguing race. No natural leader which makes things tricky! WARNING relished the 2600m and Soft-5 track winning St Leger at Randwick and did win a VRC Derby here. LUNAR FLARE beat SOUND narrowly in MV Cup, splitting them was Melb Cup 4th-placed Floating Artist. WENTWOOD ran by Floating Artist before going up juicy odds in a Bendigo Cup and tough win there beating another promising one. The third horse there did beat Lunar Flare (well) back in August.
Selections: 5. Wentwood (Top Tip), 1. Warning, 4. Lunar Flare, 2. Sound

Race 3:
SPEED: 5,15 can lead 3,6,9 plus 4,14 up there. ALCYONE didn’t quicken then raced tight Caulfield, when balanced-up he was race-fastest last 200m, runner-up Mankayan was good here Saturday behind Great House who had run well in Caulfield Cup. Thought that was a great race for SHIBLI at Randwick however he battled a bit. In fairness the trifecta all sat 1-2-3 and he pulled-up with slow recovery. Fancy 2000m suits now so gets another go, overs? TYCHE GODDESS gave a great sight in Pinker Pinker Plate beating home JOHANDOUGH. FLORIDA DREAM and LUNATIC FRINGE chances. So too VITRUVIUS but he draws wide
Selections: 6. Alcyone (Top Tip), 7. Shibli, 5. Tyche Goddess, 13. Vitruvius

Race 4:
SCISSOR STEP loomed to win at MV but Generation was too strong, they beat the rest clearly. OUR HEIDI was a touch unlucky that night in the Crockett Stakes against fillies but her race was much slower. DECENT RAINE should have won the Champagne Stakes then should have finished closer to smart Fangirl latest. She has accepted for Thursday. LAVISH GIRL was sound behind her at MV. Expecting better from PORT LOUIS. CARDINAL GEM was a sneaky good run in a hot race at Caulfield hitting the line late. Yes 1400m! The overs $18 early?
Selections: 16. Cardinal Gem (Value Bet), 7. Decent Raine, 2. Scissor Step, 3. Port Louis

Race 5:
Not sure leader but many can be handy! NIMALEE was right on the heels of some top-class mares in Empire Rose last Saturday. She’s had one go at 2000m, a close-up against males in Rosehill Cup. ONLY WORDS went to 2040m at MV and was too strong for LE LUDE and OUR INTRIGUE. STARELLE crossed the line with Only Words then copped windburn from Flying Mascot, who then ran well in that Empire Rose last week. PRINCESS JENNI wants 2000m. Same story MIMI’S AWARD and you can tie her form into that Empire Rose through Steinem. VANNA GIRL the value improver? ZAYYDANI back to mares class goes in.
Selections: 5. Mimi’s Award (Top Tip), 8. Zayydani, 9. Vanna Girl, 2. Only Words

Race 6:
NATURE STRIP picks himself! Brilliant win in Everest beating the likes of Eduardo and Home Affairs who, have both since won brilliantly themselves. He flies up the straight. Worlds’ best sprinter! SEPTEMBER RUN and SWATS THAT chased Nature Strip here in a Lightning back in Feb but looked shade below their best last week? Waller has 3yo’s SHAQUERO and RANCH HAND backing-up from Coolmore, the former was luckless, the latter closed off well behind impressive winner, in quick time. SPLINTEX and BELLA NIPOTINA are in great form.
Selections: 1. Nature Strip (Best of the Day), 8. Shaquero, 7. Swats That, 5. September Run

Race 7:
SPEED: 3, 7 & 13 all go forward. 1, 6, 8, 12 can all be handy! RANIER beat all bar Splintex fresh last prep. He trialled well behind a smart one in Sydney. SINAWANN has form around Armory at home and hit line OK in jumpout, wary. DICE ROLL struggled on firm deck latest, on his Rupert Clarke run he can certainly win this! JUSTACANTA is flying, back to 1200m last week and no worries. That Just Folk form ties in BEGOOD TOYA MOTHER from MV. CROSSHAVEN had excuses last time and has 6.5kg on Justacanta. MORVADA also has a weight swing on Justacanta. CHAILLOT a hope but back to 1400m?
Selections: 1. Ranier (Top Tip), 4. Dice Roll, 13. Morvada, 2. Sinawann

Race 8:
ZAAKI was beaten in the Caulfield Stakes (but not badly) then scratched Cox Plate morning with an elevated temperature. If right here he is the one to beat. COLETTE beat HUNGRY HEART home in the Empire Rose last week but both girls were terrific, yes 2000m. MO’UNGA beat home Colette in the Makybe Diva before a solid fourth in the Cox Plate, around 3L off the Melbourne Cup winner Verry Elleegant. CASCADIAN has 1.5kg on Superstorm from last week. PRIVATE EYE tries 2000m for the first time and beat Cascadian in the Epsom.
Selections: 4. Zaaki (Top Tip), 10. Hungry Heart, 7. Mo’unga, 9. Colette

Race 9:
HALVORSEN is the quality but 64.5kg is an ask. SAM’S IMAGE won well fresh last prep. DESTINATION comes off a forgive run (lame) and just missed in hot form race prior. IT’SOURTIME has Oxley Road form. Jumped out well. So too APRES LA MER from back in Jan. LEITER won this last year. LOWANA MAGIC is going well. THE LAST NAPOLEON was very good MV. DUCHESS OF DORSET did beat him easily prior, in fast her sole defeat was her only exposure to heavy ground.
Selections: 14. Duchess Of Dorset (Top Tip), 4. Destination, 5. It’sourtime, 10. The Last Napoleon

BlueBet – Bluey’s Tips:

Race 1:
HOSIER (5) is going to get plenty of attention here – and rightly so. Put up fours win in as many starts last preparation and each was arguably more impressive than the last. The most recent defeat of Tooradin is a piece of form that has worked out well and speaks highly of his chances of winning again in this. Think EQUATION (9) can come down from Sydney and pose a genuine threat. Three runs this time around have all seen him looking like a horse that will be better up at a mile and he gets that now. SILENT SOVEREIGN (7) wasn’t as well suited first up around a fast Valley as she is today and she should be much improved second up, as should OUR PLAYBOY (1) who was never involved last time in Brisbane but returns home with a winning chance.
Selections: 5. Hosier (top tip), 9. Equation, 7. Silent Sovereign, 1. Our Playboy

Race 2:
Just a small field but five of the six look legitimate winning hopes. No obvious pace engaged and DR DRILL (3) is the one best placed to take advantage of that. He can lead, and a slow pace will allow him to use his speed. Would be some query up over the longer trip but his good 1600-2000m form appeals in a sit and sprint. WARNING (1) wants a test. Edge off the track and this trip brought him back to his best last time. Won the Derby here and is sure to be strong. LUNAR FLARE (4) keeps stepping up to the mark. Good at the Valley and that looks a solid bit of form, as does the Bendigo Cup won by WENTWOOD (5) who is another off a career best.
Selections: 3. Dr Drill (top tip), 1. Warning, 4. Lunar Flare, 5. Wentwood

Race 3:
ALCYONE (6) won really well first up from a long break and then backed that up with another big run. Just bumped into one in Mr Brightside. Strong piece of form and he could have built on that last time but he was got caught napping when the pressure went on at Caulfield and conceded first run to others. Stayed on solidly. This is well within range. VITRUVIUS (13) is on the up and loved how he went through the line at Bendigo. More wins in store for him. SHIBLI (7) pulled up with an excuse last time in a race won on speed. Tracking the right way prior to that. LUNATIC FRINGE (11) was good fresh and the stable are respected while TYCHE GODDESS (5) got back on track last time and has a hope on the back of that.
Selections: 6. Alcyone (top tip), 13. Vitruvius, 7. Shibli (scratched), 11. Lunatic Fringe

Race 4:
SCISSOR STEP (2) has a tricky draw to overcome here but with any luck early on he shapes as a terrific winning hope. Doubt 1400m holds any concerns, in fact it may well suit now, and he ran really well at the Valley last time chasing a hot winner. Can say the same of DECENT RAINE (7) coming back from Sydney where she was game behind the carnival’s big opening winner, Fangirl. That looks good form. Blinkers go on to PORT LOUIS (3) and perhaps more importantly he gets back to 1400m where his best form to date has come. He’s a potential sharp improver. OUR HEIDI (6) ran well at the Valley and JIMMY THE BEAR (9) is two from two and has talent.
Selections: 2. Scissor Step (top tip), 7. Decent Raine, 3. Port Louis, 6. Our Heidi

Race 5:
NIMALEE (1) was a touch below her best form at her only other 2000m run but she is two from two at 1800m and is bred to stay the trip and further. Doubt it is any real query and her Empire Rose run from last week stands out as a terrific bit of form for this. Think she can replicate it here and that is going to go a long way towards winning this for her. ONLY WORDS (2) won the Valley lead up well. Far more depth this time but she is a nice horse and with the right run she is in the finish. STARELLE (3) ran well on Cox Plate Day over the mile and gets back to her home track now. She’s been building strongly all prep. MIMI’S AWARD (5) can peak out to this trip along with her stablemate ZAYYDANI (8). Both look to have been set for this race.
Selections: 1. Nimalee (top tip), 2. Only Words, 3. Starelle, 5. Mimi’s Award

Race 6:
NATURE STRIP (1) arrives back in Melbourne off winning the Everest last time out. That was a frantic, high pressure contest where he absorbed all the pressure through the middle stages and then clung on late. Very different scenario here. Nothing in his league and he should be able to cruise through the race under his own steam. All being well he beats them cosily. SEPTEMBER RUN (5) was terrific chasing him home in the Lightning here back at the start of the year. Below that form this spring so far but backs up here with the blinkers going on and if she can spark back to that sort of form then she can run second. BELLA NIPOTINA (6) filled that spot in the Manikato. Going from strength to strength at the moment and should run well. RANCH HAND (9) and SPLINTEX (3) have won nice races here over the spring and are respected again.
Selections: 1. Nature Strip (top tip), 5. September Run, 6. Bella Nipotina, 9. Ranch Hand

Race 7:
Always competitive and no different this year. Liked the return from AGE OF CHIVALRY (6) in a fast race at Caulfield and he is far better suited up to 1400m with a run under his belt. Looks a target for him at his pet trip on his home track and he can work into a nice spot stalking what should be an even tempo. Has a great hope. DICE ROLL (4) ran a plain one in the Toorak when the ground was reportedly too firm. Can be better suited here and back to 1400m where his Rupert Clarke win jumps off the page. CHAILLOT (11) wasn’t far away in the Cantala last week which is good form for this and she has the pace to cope back at 1400m. Will be powering at them late. Wary of SINAWANN (2) over from Ireland where he is a winner up to this level and not fully exposed. JUSTACANTA (5) is far more exposed but has found career-best form after start number 50!
Selections: 6. Age Of Chivalry (top tip), 4. Dice Roll, 11. Chaillot, 2. Sinawann

Race 8:
Key runner is ZAAKI (4) who was being touted as the best around prior to last start when he ran a plain one in the Caulfield Stakes. No excuses there, and safely beaten, but he was much better than that when winning the Underwood and particularly the Doomben Cup earlier in the year. A return to that sort of form makes him the one to beat. He missed the Cox Plate with a temperature but MO’UNGA (7) flew the stable flag with credit. He moved into the race strongly but like all bar the first two there he was out on his feet late. Think this can set up better for him and give him a real winning chance. HUNGRY HEART (10) has been ticking along nicely all prep and now gets to 2000m which is what she is desperate for. Think she can turn the tables on COLETTE (9) from last week though both should run well in a Mackinnon that runs deep.
Selections: 4. Zaaki (top tip), 7. Mo’unga, 10. Hungry Heart, 9. Colette

Race 9:
A high pressure 1100m could suit IT’SOURTIME (5) who will get out over further than this but looks set to run a big race resuming on his home track. Peaked at 1400m but he was good at 1200m last time around. Has the rating to win it and can see him being the strongest late. DUCHESS OF DORSET (14) is sure to be popular. Winning and improving and this looks suitable. SAM’S IMAGE (3) isn’t improving, and doesn’t do a lot of winning, but he was a winner fresh last preparation and he can pull out a big run on his day. DESTINATION (4) and YULONG DEFENCE (11) are others to consider in a typically open sprint to close the carnival.
Selections: 5. It’sourtime (top tip), 14. Duchess Of Dorset, 3. Sam’s Image, 4. Destination

Race 6:
PANDORA BLUE (4) Set the tempo when winning by 1 1/2L last start at Randwick and very competitive this campaign. Jason Collett is riding plenty of winners lately. Look for a bold run. SAQUON (3) Started $14 and ended up just short of 3 1/2L from the winner at Randwick last start on a good surface. Possesses good finishing speed. Include in all exotics. BUDHWAR (6) Grabbed towards the finish when 2nd last start at Canterbury and shows good early pace. T Mike Clark is a key booking. Been in the money 3 from 4 attempts this preparation. Winnable race. Has some strong credentials in this race.

Race 8:
ROCHA CLOCK (1) Good run when finishing 2nd last time at Randwick and T Mike Clark rates highly. Races well third up winning 2 from 4 starts. Displays good finishing speed. Key player. MADAM ROUGE (4) Finished more than 2 1/2L from the winner at Randwick last run on a good track. Should race just behind the speed. Appears well in this. NUDGE (3) Good run when placing 3rd two runs back at Caulfield and third up from a spell. Always seems to find the line well. Could take beating. TRICKY GAL (6) Made considerable ground when 2nd two runs back at Randwick and third up today. Finishes off strongly. Suitably placed in this race.

Race 9:
BLAZE A TRAIL (4) Nice run placing 2nd two runs back at Warwick Farm and change in trainer to Ciaron Maher And David Eustace. First up after a break. Winning chance in this line up. FOX FIGHTER (8) Was all too good winning three runs back at Randwick and going well this preparation. T Mike Clark is a key booking. Shows good finishing speed. Very hard to beat. FLAT HEAVEN (1) Produced an eye catching run when 2nd last start here and third up. Gets a nice run behind the speed. Should be right in the finish. CALGARY QUEEN (9) Set a strong tempo when 3rd two runs back here and carrying less weight this time. Won’t be far away during the run. No shock to see a win.

Race 10:
ZOUSHACK (1) Ran well when 2nd last run at the track and on a short turnaround. Displays good tactical speed. Been in the money 3 from 4 attempts this preparation. Could pose a threat and expected to go very close. BLESK (7) Really dug deep when winning last time at Randwick and finishes off strongly. Tommy Berry is riding well. This field suits. SUAVE (3) Brave effort to win two runs back at Warwick Farm and Joshua Parr is a bonus. Likely to get a nice run behind the speed. Among the major players. BERGEN (2) Outgunned at the finish when 3rd last start at Randwick and should jump out and bowl along. Third up specialist with 2 wins from 4 attempts. T Mike Clark rates highly. Looks set to run a place.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 1:
A bit of rain about on Thursday/Friday but perhaps only somewhere b/t 5-15mm. Maybe we can hold onto a Good rating or slip down to Soft 5 but it shouldn’t perturb too many. Rail out 3 metres all the way around. We begin with a distance BM78. 7 and 1 to lead 4 and 6. SUPPRESSION is lightest raced and earliest in his current prep. Gets to follow the leader here and has been to the trip last prep for a close 2nd. It all sets up well. HERMAN HESSE gives them all plenty of weight but presumably will enjoy rising to 2400. ARABOLINI would hope for as much rain as we can get. Regardless, leads this and should find a bit, even though I don’t think Schiller can claim too far under 52kg.
Selections: 4. Suppression (Top Tip), 7. Arabolini, 1. Herman Hesse, 6. Merlinite

Race 2:
This week’s Highway is a 1500m C3. 2 and 9 are drawn wide and have accepted for other races. Pace comes from 11, 3 and 8 primarily. 4 can be handy. Tipping a couple that are likely to be nearer the back but both are well placed in this company. SO SAY YOU has had Brock Ryan on board in all previous Highway attempts (including a win this track/trip) now has Berry getting on. SIZZLING CAT looks nicely weighted after a claim and the return run had plenty of merit. SCHILLER’S MYST arguably ‘coulda shoulda’ won all four. CHESTNUT SCAFFA gets favours in running but has to find a strong 1500m.
Selections: 7. So Say You (Top Tip), 6. Sizzling Cat, 8. Mikado, 12. Schiller’s Myst

Race 3:
4 and 8 the dual acceptors in this one. Don’t see too many without some hope. Expect 3 to lead 2, 6, 1. JAZZLAND looks to go one better after 2nds to SHIBLI (won his next start before flat last time) and Milk Man (won in Brisbane last Saturday). Wasn’t offering much in the middle of the year but has freshened up and come back much better. PROMPT PRODIGY suited by a class drop and distance rise. COuld be on-speed today. MAYFAIR SPIRIT racing well, no knock. Not too long ago I certainly wouldn’t have expected ANOTHER ONE at 1800m but he may be able to get the soft run that sees him sticking on late. A 3 kilo claim helps.
Selections: 3. Jazzland (Value Bet), 2. Prompt Prodigy, 1. Mayfair Spirit, 6. Another One

Race 4:
Al mares/no fillies at a sprint trip. 2, 5, 6 have other options. Plenty of speed from 1, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9. SELEQUE and AMICHE (new stable) have strong fresh records and both take this on resuming. SELQUE had a nice quiet trial (won by stablemate SELBUROSE between her latest two runs) and she can be sitting close to the front here. Berry booked. UNDENIABLE had a win this track and distance two back and was solid in the Midway a fortnight ago. Jenny Duggan riding so well at the moment and this mare has a great winning chance if she chooses this option.
Selections: 4. Seleque (Top Tip), 2. Undeniable, 1. Selburose (SCRATCHED), 3. Amiche

Race 5:
They come from all corners for the Country Classic. 11 to lead 3 crossing from way out wide. 2 likely to follow the leader and 16 and 14 can also be handy. Add 21 into that scenario if he gets a run. Hard to see DREAM RUNNER not having every possible chance from the inside draw and he is in the midst of a consistent prep. KITZBUHEL swaps barrier 1 for 21 (before scratchings) but if he can get over on the speed he is heading the right way in his prep. Won both 2nd- and 3rd-up last prep. FREEDOM SQUARE lightest raced here; doubt that’s a negative. KERMATIN has a terrible barrier but she is a decent level of mare.
Selections: 2. Dream Runner (Top Tip), 3. Kitzbuhel, 21. Freedom Square, 14. Group Think

Race 6:
5 was immediately scratched and 2, 7, 8, 9 remained dual acceptors at preview time. Hmmm, not overly keen to be honest. 3, 4, 6, 8, 12 to set the tone. BOWERY BREEZE comes through some relatively strong races but she needs everything to go right as she’s a certified backmarker. The same applies to AIR TO AIR. PANDORA BLUE up 3 kilos and 100m from her Randwick win a fortnight ago. She can see control here as well and has established a good record very quickly. GHOSTWRITER off three recent trials. Will he pushing up on-speed from a wide draw?
Selections: 7. Bowery Breeze (Top Tip), 4. Pandora Blue, 2. Air To Air (SCRATCHED), 3. Saquon

Race 7:
$1M on offer for these 2YOs and expect some long-term form from this one. Not lightning speed but 9 and 7 can do the leading. SHALATIN was terrific late on debut and draws to be in a better place as they straighten today. EBHAAR has had one impressive trial win coming from off the speed. This barrier could have entrenched in the back half but she has a turn of foot and expect her to run right into it. OJAI can get similar favours here to those which he saw at Randwick. SEJARDAN draws wide again but it may not stop him. He was in no sort of winning position 300m out but saw a split and was strong to win the Breeders Plate. NOBEL in the mix as well.
Selections: 5. Shalatin (Top Tip), 11. Ebhaar, 8. Ojai, 1. Sejardan

Race 8:
FASHCHANEL drawn wide but looks likely to get up and over here; there’s really not much else in the habit of racing forward. Perhaps ROCHA CLOCK could pozzie top four today. She’s not in the habit of doing that but trailed up 5th in the Invitation and battled well from there. Icebath went to Melbourne and franked the form nicely. Has a great record at 1400m and will be peaking 3rd-up. Others from that race like MADAM ROUGE and TRICKY GAL can also be given some winning chance. WANDABAA put in a poor one on return but she’s doesn’t do that very often so I’ll trust her to bounce back to an extent.
Selections: 1. Rocha Clock (Best of the Day), 4. Madam Rouge, 6. Tricky Gal, 7. Wandabaa

Race 9:
3, 6, 9, 11 are also in other races and given the main speed here is from that group – namely CALGARY QUEEN and NICTOCK – this race is a little fraught with tempo uncertainty. UNDENIABLE also in that dual acceptor group but this looks a good option for a mare in form, recently a winner at the track and claims to what looks a winning weight. KINLOCH comes through a BM88 race so this is a significant drop in grade but he just doesn’t help himself with his slow getaways. OH PLEASE DIANA an each-way chance too but overall this is a race I’ll be keener on when knowing the final field.
Selections: 3. Undeniable (Top Tip – SCRATCHED), 5. Kinloch, 6. Oh Please Dianna (SCRATCHED), 1. Flat Heaven

Race 10:
1 and 2 go forward. ZOUSHACK was bloused here last week but still liked the way he stuck on and there is a likelihood he can be the leader today instead of the one that brings the rest of the field up to the leader. All that’s missing in his record is a one week backup but we will trust he has done well to be here. Race shape says BERGEN is right up to winning this too and he drops from a better race last start. SUAVE has come back well from a year off the scene and stays at the pet trip.
Selections: 1. Zoushack (Top Tip), 2. Bergen, 3. Suave, 8. Media Starguest

BlueBet – Bluey’s Tips:

Race 1:
SUPPRESSION (4) comes up the highway following a strong display at Mornington last start when too good on-speed over 2050m. Rates well off the back of that effort and should be even better stepping up to 2400m. Berry takes over and he should prove hard to beat. HERMAN HESSE (1) failed to fire a shot at Randwick last start but is clearly better than that and a return to his best form should have him right in the finish. MERLINITE (6) continues to race well and notably gets the blinkers back on. Gets in well down in the weights and has to be included in the main chances. FORTIFIED (2) wasn’t beaten far at Canterbury last start and appears the next in line.
Selections: 4. Suppression (top tip), 1. Herman Hesse, 6. Merlinite, 2. Fortified

Race 2:
CHASE MY CROWN (2) went down narrowly two back before far too good at Taree last start when winning easily on the heavy track. Lightly raced, continues to improve and while likely to get back from the draw she still looks hard to beat. SO SAY YOU (7) simply got too far back last start when closing off well late. Some query back in trip but should be able to settle closer this time from the middle draw. Berry takes over and she looms as a major threat. SIZZLING CAT (6) only went down narrowly first up when coming from last at Wagga over 1400m. Open to good improvement off that and has since trialled well. The wide draw likely sees him get back to last which is the key knock. MIKADO (8) the next in line.
Selections: 2. Chase My Crown (top tip), 7. So Say You, 6. Sizzling Cat, 8. Mikado

Race 3:
JAZZLAND (3) has been rock solid in both starts to begin this preparation and should be right at his peak third up. Sure to appreciate the step up in trip and looks to lead comfortably for Parr. Rates well and looks hard to beat. SHIBLI (4) disappointed last start at Randwick when well backed late. Clearly better than that and should appreciate the step up in trip. Drawn well and looms as a major threat. MAYFAIR SPIRIT (1) continued his good run of form last start when second behind Ruby Tuesday. Winner got a picnic in front and his run in defeat held plenty of merit. LADYLOVESTOGAMBLE (5) another in-form galloper who has to be included.
Selections: 3. Jazzland (top tip), 4. Shibli, 1. Mayfair Spirit, 5. Ladylovestogamble

Race 4:
SELEQUE (4) won well first up last preparation and went to the paddock in decent form. Has trialled well in the lead up and should appreciate the good tempo up front. Rates well on best form and shapes as one of the hardest to beat. AMICHE (3) creates plenty of interest on debut for the Edward Cummings stable, formerly with David Vandyke. She has good talent placing in 8/9 attempts and looms as a major threat off the soft draw. UNDENIABLE (2) continues to race well and has to be included again with the added aid of the claim. PARACHUTER (8) bumped into the smart Norwegian Bliss last start and appears the next in line.
Selections: 4. Seleque (top tip), 3. Amiche, 2. Undeniable, 8. Parachuter

Race 5:
DREAM RUNNER (2) continued his good run of form last start when finishing a close second behind Mightybeel. Drops back in grade off that and has drawn to land just behind the leading bunch. Should be aided by the step up in trip and looks very hard to beat. KITZBUHEL (3) is the clear danger following his strong staying performance to score last start. Has to do it from the carpark this time but should roll forward from the outset and be in this for a long way. FIVE KINGDOM (10) looks to be tracking along nicely for his new stable and should be right at his peak fourth up. Hasn’t won in over 1000 days the key knock. LORD DESANIMAUX (20) never really got involved last start but is better than that and is worth another chance.
Selections: 2. Dream Runner (top tip), 3. Kitzbuhel, 10. Five Kingdom, 20. Lord Desanimaux

Race 6:
PANDORA BLUE (4) chases the hat-trick following another strong display last start when leading throughout at Randwick over 1200m. Rises 3kg and steps up in trip the two main queries however she is only lightly raced and expect her to keep improving. Hard to beat. SAQUON (3) caught the eye late behind the former last start and is sure to appreciate the step up in trip (won 2/2). At his peak fourth up and looms as a major threat with Parr sticking aboard. BUDHWAR (6) continues to race well and should find the front for Clark. On the relatively quick back up and expect him to be in this for a long way. TRAVEST (1) the next in line in his return.
Selections: 4. Pandora Blue (top tip), 3. Saquon, 6. Budhwar, 1. Travest

Race 7:
SHALATIN (5) was very hard to miss on debut when charging home to finish a close fifth behind Ojai. Open to good improvement off that and should be able to settle closer from the better draw. Promising type who looks hard to beat. SEJARDAN (1) won the Breeders’ Plate on debut at Randwick and while the time wasn’t flash, visually he was quite impressive. Drawn to get back in the field but should be strong late. OJAI (8) won nicely on debut at Randwick and returned decent figures in the process. Open to good improvement and has to be included in the main hopes. NOBEL (2) was good at the Valley on debut and should measure up with Berry going aboard.
Selections: 5. Shalatin (top tip), 1. Sejardan, 8. Ojai, 2. Nobel

Race 8:
ROCHA CLOCK (1) caught the eye first up before very game in defeat last start behind Icebath. Rates clear off that and should be right at her peak third up. Drawn to get the right run and is clearly the one to beat. MADAM ROUGE (4) didn’t have much luck behind Icebath last start and should have finished much closer. Certainly capable in this line up and looms as a major threat. NUDGE (3) never got into the race last start but a key switch with Berry going aboard and she rates highly on her best. Clearly worth another chance. TRICKY GAL (6) the best of the rest off the soft draw.
Selections: 1. Rocha Clock, 4. Madam Rouge, 3. Nudge, 6. Tricky Gal

Race 9:
BLAZE A TRAIL (4) creates plenty of interest on debut for the Maher & Eustace stable having displayed good ability in his 10 starts. Will be better over further but has trialled well and rates highly on best form. Berry legs back aboard and he shapes as one of the hardest to beat. FOX FIGHTER (8) simply should have won last weekend when having no luck in the straight. On the quick back up and is clearly capable. FLAT HEAVEN (1) finished ahead of the former last start and now appears back on track. Drawn well and with the aid of the claim he has to be included in the main hopes. CALGARY QUEEN (9) had excuses last start when caught wide throughout and is clearly worth another chance.
Selections: 4. Blaze A Trail, 8. Fox Fighter, 1. Flat Heaven, 9. Calgary Queen

Race 10:
BLESK (7) followed up on his narrow defeat fresh when too good at Randwick (K) last start over 1300m. Has to take another step but clearly trending the right way and should prove hard to beat third up. ZOUSHACK (1) was very brave on-speed last start and looks well placed with the added aid of the claim. Drawn to be lead and should be in this for a long way. SUAVE (3) was no match for Promise Of Success last start but clearly no knock on that form and he rates as one of the main contenders. BERGEN (2) the next in line racing third up.
Selections: 7. Blesk, 1. Zoushack, 3. Suave, 2. Bergen

Sportsbet – The Wolf:

Race 1: 1. Herman Hesse
Race 3: 1. Mayfair Spirit

Quaddie: 1,5,7,8/1,2,4,8/1,4,5,8/1,2,4,7,8
