Gameweek 29 – midweek

Everton vs. Newcastle

Newcastle +0.5 at 1.63 (Unibet)
Newcastle in the head-to-head at 3.20 (Unibet)

Everton bring 1-0-8 form into this clash and they have lost their last four games by a combined 9 goals to nil. Their second half performance at home against Wolves over the weekend was abysmal. Newcastle bring 6-1-1 form into this clash and they won at Goodison Park last season.

Everton 0-1 Newcastle correct score at 12.00 (bet365)

Three of Everton’s last four home games resulted in 0-1 defeats and two of Newcastle’s last six wins were by 1-0 scorelines.

Gameweek 30

Wolves vs. Leeds

Wolves in the head-to-head at 2.17 (Picklebet)

Wolves’ home defeat to Crystal Palace seems to have served as a shot in the arm. They have since beaten Watford 4-0 at home and defeated Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park. Leeds scored 4 minutes into stoppage time to beat relegation rivals Norwich on the weekend, but they had lost six consecutive games prior to that. Leeds lost their last three away games by a combined 10 goals to nil.

Tottenham vs. West Ham

Tottenham in the head-to-head at 1.83 (bet365)

Tottenham have gone 10-0-3 as the home favourite over the last 12 months while West Ham have gone 0-0-4 as the away underdog. Tottenham’s offence is firing on all cylinders at the moment, with 11 goals scored in their last three games. You have to go back to New Year’s Day for the last time West Ham won away from home.

FA Cup quarter finals

Crystal Palace vs. Everton

Note: at the time of writing Everton have yet to play their midweek Premier League clash against Newcastle.

Crystal Palace in the head-to-head at 2.17 (Picklebet)

Crystal Palace are comfortably mid-table which sets them up well for a Cup run. New manager Patrick Vieira has stated the importance of the FA Cup to the side, so there’s no question they’ll put their all into this fixture. Palace enter the game on a high after two excellent performances in which they defeated Wolves away from home with a clean sheet and held Man City to a home draw. Everton, on the other hand, are in the midst of a relegation battle so a Cup run has become far less important than their league form. The Toffees have won only once in the league away from home this season. Everton are backing up after playing an important Premier League home fixture on Thursday, while Palace have been able to prepare for this clash since last playing on Monday.

Southampton vs. Man City

Man City in the head-to-head at 1.29 (Picklebet)

The worst time to play Man City is just after they lost or drew, so City’s draw against Crystal Palace in the league will have done Southampton no favours. Southampton are in a slump at the moment. They were thrashed 4-0 by Aston Villa away and have since lost at home to Newcastle and Watford.
