Gameweek 37

Aston Villa vs. Burnley

Aston Villa +0.5 at 1.30 (bet365)

Burnley desperately need a victory but you could have said the same thing a week ago when they lost 1-3 at home to Aston Villa. Aston Villa have gone 6-4-2 as the home favourite over the last 12 months while Burnley have gone 2-7-8 as the away underdog.

Gameweek 38

Man City vs. Aston Villa

Man City in the head-to-head at 1.16 (Picklebet)

Man City have won six straight league games against Aston Villa as well as six consecutive home league games against the Villans. City come into this fixture having won their last three home games by 3-0, 5-1 and 5-0 margins. A win in this fixture would secure the Premier League title, so they will be far more motivated than their opponents (excluding their manager Gerrard!).

Chelsea vs. Watford

Chelsea in the head-to-head at 1.17 (Picklebet)

Chelsea will be looking to finish the season on a high in front of the home fans while Watford already have relegation confirmed. This is primarily a bet against Watford, who have gone 0-1-7 in their last eight games. Their sole draw was a 0-0 home stalemate against fellow-strugglers Everton.

Chelsea to win to nil at 1.83 (bet365)

Six of Chelsea’s 8 home wins over the last 12 months were to nil while 8 of Watford’s 11 away defeats were to nil.

Liverpool vs. Wolves

Liverpool in the head-to-head at 1.18 (Picklebet)

Liverpool have gone 15-3-0 as the home favourite over the last 12 months and they have won ten consecutive home games against Wolverhampton. Liverpool could still win the title if Man City slip up on the day, while Wolves have little to play for now that they have fallen out of the running for European football.

Leicester City vs. Southampton

Leicester City in the head-to-head at 1.91 (Picklebet)

This is primarily a bet against Southampton. The Saints have gone 1-2-8 in their last eleven games and 0-1-4 in their last five. Their last five opponents each scored at least twice as their season has fizzled out poorly. Leicester City, for their part, will want to finish the season on a high in front of their home fans.

Leiceister City +0.5 at 1.30 (Picklebet)

Southampton have only won 3 out of 25 games as the underdog over the last twelve months.

Brighton vs. West Ham

Brighton +0.5 at 1.475 (Picklebet)

I expect either a draw or a Brighton win. The last six consecutive games between the two sides resulted in a draw and West Ham have gone 0-0-6 as the away underdog over the last 12 months.
