Burnley

Burnley vs. Man City

Man City

Man City in the head-to-head at 1.35 (Betfair)

Man City beat Burnley 6-0 in the FA Cup last season and they have won their last eight against Burnley in the Premier League. From late February onward, Man City went 12-1-1 in the Premier League. Their draw and defeat in the final two rounds came when they had already sewn up the Premier League title.

Burnley 0-2 Man City correct score at 7.60 (Betfair)

For a bit of fun to start the season. Man City’s last three wins over Burnley were by 2-0 scorelines and City opened their Premier League season last year with a 2-0 away win over West Ham.

Arsenal

Arsenal vs. Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest

Arsenal in the head-to-head at 1.23 (Betfair)

Nottingham Forest managed to stay up last season because of their home form, which was the 10th best in the league. Their away form, in contrast, was abysmal. Forest went 1-5-13 away from home last season, which was the worst record in the league. Nine of those 13 defeats were by 2+ goals. Arsenal won this fixture 5-0 last season.

Everton

Everton vs. Fulham

Fulham

Fulham +0.5 at 1.74 (Betfair)

Everton have a poor 3-1-5 record as the home favourite over the last twelve months. Fulham went undefeated against Everton last season and the Cottagers won their last two visits to Goodison Park. Both of those two wins were by 2-goal margins.

Fulham +1.5 at 1.24 (Betfair)

Over the last twelve months Everton only won one of their 18 home games by 2+ goals. Over the same period, 9 of Fulham’s 10 away defeats were by a one goal margin.

Newcastle

Newcastle vs. Aston Villa

Aston Villa

Newcastle +0.5 at 1.24 (Betfair)

Newcastle only lost two home games last season. In all competitions, they have not lost at home to Aston Villa in their last 15 meetings dating back to 2005.

Man Utd

Man Utd vs. Wolves

Wolves

Man Utd in the head-to-head at 1.35 (Colossalbet, Unibet)

Manchester United went 15-3-1 at home last season. They have gone 12-3-0 as the home favourite over the last twelve months and they won their final six home games last season. Wolves had the 18th ranked away form last season (2-5-12). They have gone 1-3-11 as the away underdog over the last twelve months and they ended last season with four consecutive away defeats. Manchester United completed the double over Wolverhampton last season. Wolverhampton scored the fewest away goals (12) in the league last season, while Man Utd conceded the fewest home goals (10). Adding to Wolverhampton’s difficulties is the fact that manager Julen Lopetegui left the club just days before the season start. They were forced to cell captain Ruben Neves along with Nathan Collins and Raul Jimenez during the summer to help comply with financial fair play rules.

Man Utd to win to nil at 2.35 (Unibet)

Manchester United completed the double over Wolverhampton last season and won both games to nil. Wolverhampton scored the fewest away goals (12) in the league last season, while Man Utd conceded the fewest home goals (10). Over the last twelve months, 8 of Wolverhampton’s 11 away defeats were to nil.
