Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace vs. Brighton

Brighton

Brighton +0.5 at 1.39 (Betfair)
Brighton 0 (draw no bet) at 1.63 (Betfair)

Crystal Palace have gone 1-2-5 at home this season, which is the second worst home record in the league. The Eagles only managed 7 goals across those 8 games. Palace bring 0-2-4 form into this clash and they have gone 0-4-5 as the home underdog over the last twelve months. Brighton enter this fixture on the back of their away defeat to Arsenal. This actually bodes well for their fans, because the Seagulls have gone 10-2-0 on the back of a defeat over the last twelve months. Since promotion into the Premier League, Brighton have only lost one of their six visits to Selhurst Park. I have opted for the Asian Handicap rather than the head-to-head because Brighton’s last four visits to this venue resulted in a draw.

1-1 correct score at 7.60 (Betfair)

Brighton’s last four visits to Selhurst Park resulted in 1-1 draws.

Aston Villa

Aston Villa vs. Sheffield United

Sheffield United

Aston Villa in the head-to-head at 1.22 (Betfair)
Aston Villa -1.5 at 1.63 (bet365)

Aston Villa have won 15 consecutive home games. This includes 1-0 victories over both Man City and Arsenal in recent weeks. Their other six home wins this season were all by 2+ goal margins. Aston Villa’s goal difference across their eight home games this campaign is +20. Sheffield United have gone 0-1-7 away from home this season. Five of those seven defeats were by 2+ goal margins and their away goal difference is -18.

Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest vs. Bournemouth

Bournemouth

Bournemouth in the head-to-head at 2.60 (Betfair)
Bournemouth +0.5 at 1.51 (Betfair)

Nottingham Forest bring 0-1-5 form into this game and they have only scored one goal in their last four fixtures. Bournemouth bring 4-1-0 form into this game. Their only draw during that run came against the red-hot Aston Villa. All four of Bournemouth’s wins during that run were by 2+ goal margins. The Cherries have scored 2+ goals in six of their last seven games.

Liverpool

Liverpool vs. Arsenal

Arsenal

Over 2.5 goals at 1.76 (Betfair)

This fixture is an early Christmas present for football fans. Arsenal currently sit top of the table, one point ahead of the second placed Liverpool. Liverpool will be backing up after playing in the League Cup quarter-finals, while Arsenal will have had no midweek fixture. I’m loathed to bet against Liverpool, however, given they have gone 7-1-0 at home this season and they haven’t lost at home in the league to the Gunners since 2012. I will instead back a higher scoring contest. The last ten league meetings between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield went over 3.5 goals.
